Chapter 1897: Chapter 1896: Interrogation

Han Wancheng fell silent immediately after hearing Ling Feng’s words.

After pondering for a moment, he suddenly sighed and said, "If that’s the case, act as you see fit!"

"Understood!"

Ling Feng didn’t say anything more and directly hung up the phone.

Both of them were well aware that controlling their emotions would be quite difficult.

Han Wancheng knew Ling Feng; if nothing serious happened to the people around him, then the situation would still be manageable.

But now that Catherine’s parents were in danger, he definitely wouldn’t let it go!

At this point, Ling Feng also understood that Han Wancheng had loosened the restrictions on him, and he felt somewhat touched.

However, he also knew that he wouldn’t go on a killing spree because of this; he still needed to consider the other party’s identity and reasons for their actions before deciding!

If their guilt was truly unforgivable, then he certainly wouldn’t be polite to them!

The car sped along the road, and they soon reached the outskirts of the city. Within Divine Sense range, the camouflaged off-road vehicles were only a few hundred meters away.

Ling Feng kept a close eye on the activity in the car while updating Catherine, so she wouldn’t worry too much.

The two elderly individuals were temporarily fine, just a bit scared.

The other party’s off-road vehicle soon arrived at the military base checkpoint. It seemed they were familiar with each other as the guard barely checked before letting them through.

Ling Feng squinted and said to the driver in English, "Just drop me off at the base gate. Your car doesn’t need to go inside!"

The driver, eager to comply, quickly nodded and said, "Okay!"

Two minutes after the camouflaged off-road vehicle entered the base, Ling Feng’s car also arrived.

The guard immediately approached.

Ling Feng and Catherine got out of the car, and he said to the guard in English, "I’m here to see the commander of the Huaxia Peacekeeping Force. Could you please notify them?"

With a courteous attitude and a warm smile on his face, the guard immediately relaxed his vigilance and nodded, "Alright, please wait a moment."

He then went back inside and dialed the number for the Huaxia military camp.

Ling Feng wasn’t in a hurry either; he held Catherine’s hand, calming her anxiety considerably.

However, within Divine Sense, Ling Feng already saw her parents being forcibly dragged out of the car and taken into a two-story building.

The two were put into a place with an iron-barred door, and then the heavy iron door was closed.

No matter how much they shouted, the soldiers acted as if they were deaf, not responding at all.

Seeing this, Ling Feng thought to himself, just for treating two civilians like this, I should give you all a good beating!

A few minutes later, a vehicle drove from deep within the camp. A man in Huaxia camouflaged military uniform jumped out of it, smiling as he approached. "Mr. Ling, welcome, welcome!"

Due to previous issues, Ling Feng’s military rank had been revoked, and he was now a civilian. So when facing the officer, he could only smile and extend his hand, "Hello, Colonel Xu!"

"Mr. Ling, I’m aware of the situation. Please follow me!"

Xu Li gestured for him to proceed.

Ling Feng nodded and took Catherine into the car.

The driver was a young guy, only seventeen or eighteen years old, who grinned at Ling Feng, showing a mouthful of white teeth.

Judging by his eyes, he clearly knew of Ling Feng’s exploits and couldn’t hide the admiration he felt.

Ling Feng nodded at him and continued, "Let’s not rush to your camp just yet. I’d like to ask, who are the people in those off-road vehicles over there?"

Glancing in the direction he pointed, Xu Li replied, "That’s the Kangaroo Country’s military!"

"Oh?"

Upon hearing this, Ling Feng squinted his eyes; he didn’t have a good impression of these people.

Now learning it was them, Ling Feng sneered, "Ah, so it’s this bunch of clowns!"

"Mr. Ling, I’ve received calls from back home asking me to assist you. What exactly happened?" Xu Li asked.

Ling Feng looked at him, "Colonel Xu, it’s best if you don’t get involved in this. This is a personal matter. Just observe!"

"But..."

Xu Li was momentarily taken aback, but then quickly asked, "Are you going to deal with the Kangaroo Country forces?"

"Yes!"

Ling Feng nodded, "But before that, I will get evidence. When the time comes, I’ll hand it over to you. No matter what happens afterward, no one can hold Huaxia accountable!"

"Alright."

Hearing this, Xu Li could only nod.

He understood something major must have happened for domestic authorities to call urgently, arranging for him to coordinate with Ling Feng so quickly.

So, Xu Li readily agreed.

Upon returning to the Huaxia camp, many soldiers were already aware of the situation and waiting.

However, Ling Feng, in a hurry, didn’t have much time to chat. He merely made a brief greeting before rushing into the barracks.

A moment later, leaving Catherine there, he activated Invisibility and left, heading straight to the Kangaroo Country’s camp.

All the international troops shared a base, yet their camps were still separated. Despite working on the same mission, differing concepts and ideologies meant they maintained their distance from each other.

After a few hundred meters, Ling Feng arrived at the Kangaroo Country camp.

At that moment, Catherine’s parents were being interrogated by a tall white man!

The man had pale skin, and his eyebrows and eyelashes were white, giving him a somewhat peculiar appearance.

The rank on his shoulder was lieutenant colonel, likely the person in charge here, or one of the top two or three officers.

Both parties conversed in English, making their dialogue quite clear. The white officer was now questioning Catherine’s parents about their identity.

After explaining they were tourists from America, the white officer continued, "During your trip to the prairies outside the city, did you see anything?"

Catherine’s parents exchanged a glance and shook their heads in unison, "No!"

Bam!

The white officer slammed the table and shouted sternly, "Don’t think just because you’re Americans that you can lie casually. I warn you, if you don’t tell the truth, you might not be able to leave here!"

"..."

Catherine’s parents were terrified, completely stunned!

Glancing between each other, Catherine’s father said, "You are soldiers from the Kangaroo Country and have no jurisdiction over us Americans. I demand to see the American forces’ commander!"

"There are no American forces here; they have their own separate camp!"

The white officer sneered before loudly demanding, "Hurry up and tell me, what did you see on the prairie, and did you hear gunshots?"

"So what if we did?" Catherine’s father retorted.

"Then? You only heard gunshots and didn’t investigate further?" The white officer narrowed his eyes and asked coldly.
