The Greatest Village Doctor In The World-Chapter 1861 - 1860: Setting Out Again
Upon hearing the Lord of the Blue Sea, Ling Feng and Little Li simultaneously asked, "What is it?"
"The ten-thousand-year essence!"
The Lord of the Blue Sea replied.
Ling Feng rolled his eyes, "And what is that exactly? I’ve never heard of it!"
"There are many things in the world; all living beings possess a certain spirit. Didn’t they say that life existed on Earth millions of years ago? All we need to do is find the essence of a spiritual being from ten thousand years ago!" the Lord of the Blue Sea explained.
"Uh..."
Ling Feng was still speechless. It sounded simple, but in reality, finding it wouldn’t be that easy.
So he thought for a moment, and Ling Feng asked, "How about this, the name of what you’re talking about might differ from what we call things on Earth, so could you describe what that thing looks like? I’ll try to find it!"
"Okay!"
The Lord of the Blue Sea nodded, jumped onto Ling Feng’s desk, took out pen and paper, and began to draw.
Ling Feng, Chen Hong, and Little Li gathered around, watching quietly.
The sight of three people watching a monkey draw was quite surreal.
With a few strokes, the Lord of the Blue Sea sketched something out.
Ling Feng was bewildered and looked up at Chen Hong, "Do you know what this is?"
"No clue!"
Chen Hong shook his head vigorously, looking completely lost.
Feeling helpless, Ling Feng could only smile wryly, "Then how about this, I’ll take this to Ah Min and see if she can find any clues online. If she can, it’ll be much easier!"
Chen Hong nodded, "That’s definitely simpler than looking for those three unheard-of things."
So Ling Feng left the branch office, taking her, Little Li, and the Lord of the Blue Sea, and teleported to Lingyun Island.
Once they arrived, they headed straight for Ah Min’s office, where they unexpectedly found Nina. Ling Feng greeted her and handed the drawing made by the Lord of the Blue Sea to Ah Min.
"Help me find out what this is!" Ling Feng said.
Ah Min looked confused, just about to ask what was going on, when Nina asked, "Mr. Ling, why are you looking for this?"
"You know it?"
Ling Feng looked at her, suddenly remembering that she was into archaeology, and immediately laughed, "Of course, if anyone around me would know what it is, it would be you!"
"This drawing is very well done; I recognized it immediately!"
Nina smiled and continued, "This is amber!"
"What?"
Ling Feng was stunned, looking at the drawing in amazement, "How did I not see that?"
"This isn’t the ordinary kind of amber, but one formed from stones within an animal’s body, quite special!"
Nina thought for a moment and then said, "I’ve only seen this kind of thing twice before!" 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
Hearing this, Ling Feng quickly asked, "Where did you see it?"
"The British Museum!" Nina immediately replied.
"Uh, why would it be there? Is it on display?" Ling Feng asked.
Nina nodded, "Yes, these items aren’t very common and have great historical research value. The piece I saw at the British Museum is said to be over a hundred thousand years old."
No sooner had she finished than the Lord of the Blue Sea chimed in, "That’s perfect; an essence of over a hundred thousand years will be more effective. Little Li will definitely succeed in breaking through!"
Detecting a flaw in his words, Little Li asked in confusion, "What? Using a ten-thousand-year one isn’t a guaranteed success?"
"That’s right, it’s a substitute after all; it’s normal if the years are insufficient!" the Lord of the Blue Sea said.
After a brief realization, Little Li turned back, looking pitifully at Ling Feng, "Well..."
"You don’t need to say anything; I’ll help you get it!"
Ling Feng understood what that look meant, so he quickly waved his hand, thinking to himself not to act cute, as he couldn’t handle that!
Upon promising, Nina was somewhat shocked and asked, "Are you serious, Mr. Ling, are you planning to steal that amber?"
"How can you call it stealing?"
Ling Feng chuckled and continued, "It’s just borrowing it for a bit. To prevent any objections, I just won’t tell them first. After using it, if it’s still valuable for display, I’ll return it to them!"
Nina: "..."
Seeing her speechless, Chen Hong chuckled on the side, "Don’t be surprised; you might not yet be familiar with our boss. That’s his style!"
"Don’t spread nonsense; what style do I have? I’m not a thief. I’m just borrowing it for a bit!" Ling Feng said earnestly.
Nina was a bit speechless too, but she didn’t try to dissuade Ling Feng, merely saying, "The British Museum’s security measures are very tight, stricter than some banks’. Mr. Ling, if you really plan to, um, borrow that amber, it might be quite a challenge."
Ling Feng nodded, "I get it. The items they house are extremely precious, and of course, they’d want to guard them well."
He laughed, "But no worries, I’ve been places with security even stricter than that!"
Turning back, without needing Ling Feng to say anything, Ah Min was already searching for information on the British Museum.
Before long, she turned to Ling Feng and said, "Boss, I’ve found the address, layout, and exhibit info. The amber you want is this one!"
Ling Feng had already spotted the exhibit on the screen, studied it closely, and committed its appearance to memory, then nodded, "Great, let’s hurry. If we’re quick, we should still make it in time for dinner!"
"I’m coming too!"
Without hesitation, Chen Hong spoke up.
Looking at her, Ling Feng hesitated for a moment, "Alright, you can come along then, since this concerns you too!"
"Well, I’d like to go too."
Nina raised her hand slightly, testing the waters as she spoke.
Ling Feng was taken aback for a moment, looked back at her and asked, "Why do you want to go?"
"I just want to see how you plan to take that amber," Nina said, blushing.
Ling Feng was a bit speechless but recalling that she hadn’t asked anything of him before, he figured if she wanted to tag along, he might as well bring her since it wouldn’t be any trouble.
So he nodded, "Sure, you can come along too!"
"Thank you!"
Nina’s face lit up with joy.
Seeing Ah Min staring intently at him, Ling Feng grinned, "You don’t need to say anything, I’ll be bringing you along too!"
"I just knew it!"
Ah Min laughed heartily, showing a bright smile.
Though it was a spur-of-the-moment decision, to help Little Li swiftly break through, Ling Feng took the girls with him since there wasn’t much else to do, and after a couple of transfers, they arrived at the British Peninsula.
Thinking back, he’d been to this place a few times now, and each time he left with something different. This time, it was for something particularly important, and Ling Feng couldn’t help but feel a bit excited.
The group set out in the morning and reached Mist City at 1 AM local time, perfect timing!
So Ling Feng smiled and said, "Let’s act under the cover of night!"
