Chapter 173: Chapter 173: Are You Going to Cling to Me?

Back at home, Ling Feng prepared to give Mo Jiaolan a call to let her know to send a vehicle to transport the game.

But before he could dial, he heard a rumbling noise coming from outside.

He was stunned for a moment and quickly went outside, only to unexpectedly see Xun Qianqian taking off her helmet, looking at him with a grin!

"How come you’re here?" Ling Feng asked in amazement.

"Why? Can’t I come?" Xun Qianqian looked at him and asked.

Ling Feng shook his head, "Of course not, what brings you? Are you here to see your cousin?"

"Yeah, last night after you left, I gave her a call!"

Xun Qianqian parked her motorcycle and walked up lightly, not waiting for Ling Feng to speak, she went straight into the house.

Ling Feng felt that something was amiss, followed her inside, and asked, "Then what? What was the phone call about?"

"You stayed in the mountains with me for three days and you never told her you were working here!" Xun Qianqian turned and glared at him.

"There’s no need to tell you about that, hey, you still haven’t said what the call was about!" Ling Feng noticed she had changed the subject and quickly asked.

"Yu Mei has been all by herself with Ya Ya, and now that she’s gone back to work, she obviously can’t manage everything, so I came over to help her look after the child!" Xun Qianqian declared, looking very pleased with herself.

Ling Feng: "..."

What babysitting? This girl is likely planning to move in!

After giving it a thought, Ling Feng chuckled, "Suit yourself, just remember, I won’t be managing your salary if you’re watching the kid!"

Xun Qianqian pouted, "Who cares about your money? I’m helping my cousin out of kindness, I don’t want any payment!"

"Wow, it’s rare to see you so generous. I always thought you were so fixated on money that you couldn’t get enough of it!" Ling Feng laughed.

Xun Qianqian rolled her eyes at him, "There’s no one at home. Where’s my cousin working, anyway?"

"It’s in the back, follow me!"

Ling Feng, inwardly exasperated, led her to the farm.

"Wow, your backyard is so huge!" Xun Qianqian exclaimed loudly upon arriving.

"This is leased, it’s not mine," Ling Feng explained.

As they continued to the back and passed the cages with pheasants and hares, Xun Qianqian stopped in her tracks, "What are all these?"

Everyone who saw these unusually large pheasants and hares had the same reaction; Ling Feng was already numb to it, "They’re animals I’m farming!"

"My gosh, those are pheasants and that one’s a rabbit? How did they get so big?" Xun Qianqian asked, her eyes wide open.

"That’s a secret!" Ling Feng didn’t feel like explaining and then said helplessly, "Do you even want to find Yu Mei or not?"

An unusual gleam flitted across Xun Qianqian’s eyes, "Of course I want to, why else would I ride my motorcycle for dozens of kilometers to get here?"

Striding forward, she thought to herself, "I certainly haven’t found the wrong person. This guy is a real character, so skilled!"

Upon reaching the kitchen area in the back, Ling Feng pushed the door open; Li Yumei was already busy preparing lunch for the workers.

"Yu Mei, your cousin’s here!"

Li Yumei was taken aback and looked at Xun Qianqian, "How did you get here so quickly? Weren’t you going to come over in a couple of days?"

"Yeah, Sister, I didn’t have much to do at home, so I decided to come earlier!"

"You two chat, I’ve got some business to take care of," Ling Feng said, glancing at the both of them, then turned and was about to leave.

Seeing him about to leave, Xun Qianqian hurriedly asked, "When will you be back?"

"That’s uncertain, I already told you there are a lot of things to attend to at home!" Ling Feng replied.

"Sure, then off you go. You can run from the monk, but not from the temple!" Xun Qianqian wrinkled her nose.

Upon hearing this, Ling Feng nearly stumbled and fell!

So it’s all out in the open now? She’s really sticking to me!

However, with Li Yumei present, he didn’t feel it was appropriate to say anything to Xun Qianqian, so he pretended not to hear and left on his own.

After he got home, he sat down and spaced out for a while, then suddenly snickered, "What am I worrying about? So she’s sticking to me, she’s just a girl, she can’t ’eat’ me, what’s there to worry about?"

As he was smiling wryly, Mo Jiaolan suddenly called, and it was only then that Ling Feng remembered he had meant to call her!

After picking up, Ling Feng asked with a smile, "What’s up, Jiaolan, miss me?"

"What are you talking about? I’m just checking in on what you’ve been up to recently. Seems like you haven’t been to the county for a while!" Mo Jiaolan said.

"I’ve just returned from a trip, didn’t Shiyun tell you?" Ling Feng asked.

"She did, but she didn’t say what you were doing," Mo Jiaolan replied.

Ling Feng made an acknowledging sound, then changed the subject, "Speaking of which, you’d better find a truck to come over here and haul off some pheasants and hares. I’m about to run out of space!"

"Alright, I’ll arrange for someone to handle it right away. So, aren’t you coming to the county?" asked Mo Jiaolan, probing.

After thinking it over, Ling Feng, who indeed had not seen her or Chen Yuhe in a while, nodded, "I’ll come along then, we can talk when we meet!"

"Great!" Mo Jiaolan hung up the call.

Less than an hour later, a light truck drove into Ling Feng’s farm.

Ling Feng was just about to find some people to help load the truck when Xun Qianqian, taking the initiative, ran out to offer her help.

"Aren’t you supposed to be watching Ya Ya for Yu Mei?" Ling Feng asked.

"It’s alright, Ya Ya can play by herself. I was worried you’d be too busy alone!" Xun Qianqian said cheerfully. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

Ling Feng was at a loss for words, "Who said I was alone? There are plenty of people to work, go back and watch the kid!"

"I won’t!" Xun Qianqian said, turing on her heel!

Seeing her act coquettishly for the first time, Ling Feng felt a bit out of his element but hesitated before saying, "Alright then, don’t catch the big ones, just the ones about the same size as those on the mountain!"

"Got it!" Xun Qianqian immediately beamed with joy!

With the driver and the loading crew joining in, they all busied themselves for a while and finally managed to get over a hundred pheasants and hares into cages and onto the truck.

After sending off the truck, Xun Qianqian turned to Ling Feng, "How much can you sell this batch of pheasants for?"

"Don’t you know the price? Why ask me?" Ling Feng looked at her.

"I know the price of wild ones, but yours are farm-raised. Is the price the same?" Xun Qianqian inquired.

"Of course it’s the same. The ones I raise taste even better than the wild ones, so why would the price be different?" Ling Feng asked.

Xun Qianqian pouted, "Just because you say they taste good doesn’t make it true. I don’t believe it!"

As she finished speaking, Li Yumei happened to come out from the house, smiling as she said, "Qian Qian, you don’t need to doubt, the chicken you just ate was from the pheasants Ling Feng raised!"

"What?"

Xun Qianqian’s eyes widened in surprise. She had stolen a piece of the potato and chicken stew Li Yumei had cooked, enticed by the aroma, without realizing that they knew.

After her initial shock, she turned back to Ling Feng, "So, you stewed a pheasant worth over two hundred, just to feed the workers?"

Xun Qianqian thought, my God, is there anyone this foolish in the world? That’s just too extravagant!

Ling Feng smiled, "It’s only money when it’s sold at the market. In my place, it’s not worth much; it’s just the cost of some feed. Why shouldn’t I let everyone enjoy it?"
