The small restaurant didn’t have any private rooms, so the four of them had to settle down at a communal table in the back.

Ling Feng took care of the bill, leaving the task of ordering to Chen Yuhe, who naturally didn’t hold back, ordering a veritable feast from the menu.

"I think you might as well just ask the chef to stir-fry the entire cookbook!" Ling Feng said, exasperated.

"That could work, unless the table isn’t big enough!" Chen Yuhe challenged with a glance.

Since the restaurant was quite busy, they had to wait for a bit after placing their order. It was then that Ling Feng noticed Mo Jiaolan seemed uncomfortable, so he asked, "What’s wrong?"

"Nothing, it’s nothing," Mo Jiaolan shook her head.

Despite her words, her expression gave her away, prompting Ling Feng to press on, "What really happened?"

Seeing that he was insistent, Mo Jiaolan glanced behind him, "That man keeps staring at me."

Ling Feng turned around to see, indeed, a man in his thirties at the next table staring intently at Mo Jiaolan, without as much as blinking!

"What kind of person is this? Has he never seen a beautiful woman in his life?"

Ling Feng was livid and stood up to confront the man.

But Li Shiyun grabbed him, "Jiaolan didn’t want to say anything because she was afraid you’d start trouble. Just ignore him!"

"Ignore him? I’d rather gouge out his eyes!" Ling Feng said, angrily.

Li Shiyun rolled her eyes, "So are we going to eat this late-night snack or not?"

She stopped Ling Feng in his tracks. He turned back and glared at the man, then told Mo Jiaolan, "Let’s switch seats. He likes to watch? Let him watch me."

After they switched, Ling Feng provocatively glanced at the man before sitting down.

The man rolled his eyes in disgust and turned his head away, no longer looking in their direction.

Following the minor incident, a few more minutes passed, and the waiter began serving dishes to their table.

The four of them ate and talked, raising their voices to compensate for the noisy crowd in the restaurant.

They had only been eating for a short while when someone at the table behind them suddenly said, "Look at that kid’s behavior, bringing several beautiful girls with him. What’s he got to show for it?"

"Either he’s rich or he’s got some kind of ’special skill’!"

The words "special skill" were laden with heavy sarcasm, as if afraid others wouldn’t get the insinuation.

Ling Feng’s brows furrowed upon hearing this. It was a clear provocation!

He was just about to stand up again when Li Shiyun held down his hand.

"Enough, those guys are clearly drunk. Why bother with them?"

Chen Yuhe also chimed in, "Exactly, they’re deliberately provoking you, just waiting for you to lose your cool and confront them. If you ignore them, they’ll lose interest."

Ling Feng, frustrated but resigned, gritted his teeth, "If it wasn’t for you guys, I’d beat them until they were searching for their teeth on the ground!"

"Alright, let’s just eat and ignore them," Li Shiyun suggested.

The small restaurant saw a steady stream of customers, some settling their bills, others arriving to order. Many couldn’t help but sneak a few glances at the three girls as they passed their table.

The girls were used to this and didn’t pay any attention, but Ling Feng found it increasingly aggravating!

After a while, the patrons at the provoking table prepared to pay their bill, wobbling to the owner to settle up.

But as they passed by their table, the man who had been eyeing Mo Jiaolan deliberately leaned towards her.

Though Li Shiyun was in the way, Ling Feng moved quickly, standing up and blocking the man with an outstretched hand, firmly holding onto his shoulder.

"Had too much to drink? Watch your step!" Ling Feng said, looking into his eyes.

The man was taken aback, having thought he would get to touch Mo Jiaolan, only for Ling Feng to intercept him unexpectedly.

"Kid, are you threatening me?" the man asked, his breath reeking of alcohol.

"Why would I? I’m just concerned you might fall. After all, eating out should be enjoyable, and it wouldn’t be good if you got hurt," Ling Feng said with a smile.

The man left with a disgruntled face, "Humph, mind your own business!"

After several people went over, Ling Feng glanced at their retreating backs, "Scoundrels!"

"Exactly, way too childish. They’re adults but still pulling such pranks!" Chen Yuhe said with an eye-roll.

One would think that incident would have ended there. What else could that guy, who had made a fool of himself, possibly do?

But unexpectedly, after we settled the bill and went out, that guy actually approached Mo Jiaolan again!

This time, without Ling Feng stepping in, Chen Yuhe stood up and glared at him asking, "What do you want?"

"Nothing, just passing by!" the man said with drunken blurry eyes.

"Then move along quickly, don’t disturb us!" Chen Yuhe raised her voice.

Her voice attracted the attention of the other diners, and the owner of the restaurant quickly came over, "What’s happening?"

The man looked at him, "Nothing, just joking with the little sister here, don’t worry."

After saying that, he turned his head to look at Chen Yuhe, Mo Jiaolan, and Li Shiyun, "Have fun!"

"We would indeed be having a great time if it weren’t for annoying jerks!" Chen Yuhe gave him a disdainful look.

The man didn’t speak, just snickered and left the restaurant with the others.

Due to this incident, everyone’s mood turned sour.

Feeling that the trouble was her fault, Mo Jiaolan said, "Don’t be mad, such people love causing trouble when they’re drunk. We often encounter such customers in our hotel."

"How do you deal with them?" Ling Feng asked.

"What else can we do, either contact their families and friends or call the police."

"If it were me, I’d make sure they’d never dare to drink again!" Ling Feng said indignantly.

"I’m afraid you won’t be able to handle it, because there are many such people," Mo Jiaolan said with a laugh.

After sitting for a while longer, since they had nearly finished eating, Ling Feng stood up to settle the bill which amounted to just over a hundred yuan.

Returning to the table, he looked at Chen Yuhe, "I thought you were going to gouge me, but it was only this much!"

"Wait till you’re rich, then you can eat big meals every day until you go bankrupt!" Chen Yuhe scrunched up her nose.

The unpleasantness from before was quickly left behind, and the four of them left the eatery, chatting and laughing.

No sooner had they stepped out than Ling Feng saw someone squatting across the street, one of the men from that table before!

He paused for a second, immediately becoming alert.

Mo Jiaolan’s car was parked at the corner; they had to walk over a hundred meters to reach it, and the street lights on that stretch seemed to be out, shrouded in darkness.

"Not giving up? Still looking to cause trouble?"

Ling Feng narrowed his eyes, glancing at the man without saying a word, and led the three girls towards where the car was parked.

But they hadn’t gone far, just entering the stretch with no lighting, when a figure blocked their path!

"What are you up to?" Seeing it was the man from the restaurant who had been harassing them, Ling Feng looked at him and asked.

Ling Feng scoffed, "Make friends? With you?"

"What’s wrong with me? What makes you any better than me, kid?"

Ling Feng nodded, "You’re right, in terms of thick skin, you are indeed much stronger than me!"

Though the atmosphere was tense, when he said this, Li Shiyun and the others couldn’t help but burst into laughter!

Seeing this, the man became instantly furious, "Looking for trouble, huh? Daring to talk to me like that!"

No sooner had he finished speaking than Ling Feng heard footsteps from behind; the rest of the men surrounded them from the back, trapping the four of them in the middle!
