The Grants: Choosing One Between The Two-Chapter 80: Yvette Aston Wants Ethan Grant to Keep Her
A few wealthy heirs exchanged shocked glances, unable to utter a single word for quite a while.
"When did Yvette Aston start seducing Ethan Grant? That’s Ethan Grant we’re talking about!" The woman with pink hair was the first to react, exclaiming in shock, her voice sharp.
"Does Jayden Grant know about this? Yvette Aston was once Jayden Grant’s fiancée."
"Things are getting interesting." Someone was watching the spectacle, though no one dared to really provoke Ethan Grant.
"We don’t dare mess with Ethan Grant, so let’s tell Jayden Grant. Doesn’t Jayden hate Yvette the most? If Jayden knew Yvette was now hooking up with his brother..." One person suggested with a sly smile.
"I also know a secret." The woman dropping her child off at school chimed in with a smile. "I’m sure none of you know that Ethan Grant had a thing with Claudia Bell’s sister, Wendy Bell. They slept together..."
A few wealthy heirs exchanged shocked glances. "Really? Isn’t it said that Ethan has a cleanliness obsession and never touches women?"
"Aren’t men all pretentious on the surface, but in reality... If he was really not interested in women, would he pick Yvette? And even hold her hand? We all consider her dirty, but Ethan didn’t mind."
"This situation is certainly getting lively. I’ve also heard that the Bell Family has always wanted to marry into the Grant Family. Wendy Bell thought she could marry Ethan Grant, but now Yvette has stolen the limelight..."
They exchanged knowing smiles.
"The Bell Family probably wants to skin Yvette alive right now."
"But Yvette is with Ethan Grant now. Who dares touch her? Not even Jayden Grant would dare," the pink-haired woman expressed some concern.
Yvette has really clung to a golden thigh.
"How long can Ethan be interested in her? Who is Ethan? The face of Meridia’s business circle. He will have to marry eventually. I heard that as long as he’s unmarried, the shares of the Grant Group won’t fall into his hands. Do you think he would marry Yvette? She’s just a plaything, and once Ethan discards her, she will end up worse than she is now."
The group let out a cold chuckle and got into their car.
These people loved stirring up trouble, and bullying Yvette was their common interest. Now that Yvette was holding onto Ethan Grant, they would naturally try every way to make her life miserable.
...
In the car.
Ethan Grant looked out the window with a stern face, saying nothing.
Yvette felt uneasy for a long time before she spoke up quietly. "Mr. Grant... taking me away in front of them might cause you trouble."
"Should I be afraid of them?" Ethan Grant asked.
Yvette lowered her head, saying nothing.
"How about Hangzhou cuisine?" Ethan Grant asked again.
"It’s fine." Yvette nodded.
"Your ear..." Ethan stared at Yvette’s left ear for a while, lifted her chin, examined it carefully, and frowned slightly.
"I can still hear with my right ear..." Yvette nervously explained, fearing that Ethan would shun her for being deaf in her left ear.
"Did Claudia hit you?" Ethan was aware that Claudia didn’t have the strength to cause such irreversible damage with a slap, unless it was from long-term abuse.
"No... not entirely." Yvette’s palms would sweat and her body would stiffen when she was nervous.
Ethan asked no more; questioning further would only cause more harm.
He could investigate on his own.
"Let’s go eat." The driver parked the car, and Ethan got out, circling around to open the car door for Yvette.
Yvette was a bit flustered, waving her hands nervously. "No, no need to be so... polite."
To Yvette, Ethan’s gentlemanly behavior made her feel an illusion.
"Mr. Grant, what do you need me to... do?" Yvette asked, keeping her head down, trying to figure out what she needed to do initially.
She had agreed to help Ethan Grant deal with Jayden and his mother, but Ethan had yet to express his thoughts.
She was uncertain of Ethan’s real intentions.
"Just eat well." Ethan glanced at Yvette. Christopher Carter had said she was severely malnourished, and the examination report from Montville Hospital showed extremely low indicators and a serious deficiency in Vitamin D2.
Yvette felt somewhat insecure, looking down at her frail self, which no longer looked like it used to.
Currently, if she were left on the street, no one would even give her a second glance.
Taking a deep breath, Yvette nodded. "I... I’ll eat well."
On the table, Ethan ordered light dishes, all magically Yvette’s favorites.
"Drink more hot soup." Ethan served Yvette some soup.
Feeling nervous, Yvette stood up awkwardly. "I’ll... do it myself."
Seeing that Yvette remained vigilant and cautious, Ethan didn’t say much.
Guardedness couldn’t be eliminated in a day or two, especially for someone as highly sensitive as Yvette.
"Mr. Grant, why are you near the school?" Yvette sipped the hot soup, feeling warm all over as she mustered the courage to ask.
"Just passing by."
"I... I actually wanted to find you." Yvette kept her head down, almost burying it in the bowl. "How long do you need me?"
Yvette wanted a timeframe — she had to plan ahead.
If Ethan ever decided to abandon her, she wanted to have an escape route ready.
Ethan glanced at Yvette... How long? "Until I get married, I need a woman to temporarily shut up those old coots at Grant Group."
Ethan had never dated, nor had any scandal, and as long as he didn’t marry, the shares of the Grant family patriarch couldn’t truly be in his hands, leaving his inheritance rights in limbo, waiting to be schemed against.
Not just them, Jayden and his mother were equally restless.
Nodding, Yvette looked up at Ethan. "Mr. Grant, do you have any plans to marry soon?"
"If I planned to marry, I wouldn’t have picked you."
Yvette understood well; she was merely testing.
"Then Mr. Grant... is three years okay?" Yvette tightly clenched her hands, engaging in negotiation with Ethan.
Like negotiating a project, a transaction.
Ethan’s eyes were deep, silent.
"Within three years... if you wish to marry or find a woman to replace me, I will leave without causing trouble. Rest assured, I won’t cling to you. When the three years are up... whether or not you plan to marry, could you possibly ensure the safe departure of myself, Summers, and my brother Caden Summers from Meridia?"
In three years, Summers’ condition would basically stabilize, allowing her to escape with Caden and Summers.
Never to return.
Seeing Ethan’s silence, Yvette grew anxious. Restricting Ethan from other women for three years... was unrealistic.
Biting her lip, Yvette pulled out her medical report from her bag, the one Ben had taken her for during their time in Montville. She downloaded it on her phone and printed it.
Cautiously placing it in front of Ethan, Yvette’s voice was extremely quiet, her confidence clearly weak. "Mr. Grant, my medical report... I don’t have any illnesses, nor have I... you know, been with many men."
