But even with such a setup, Agnes couldn’t help but smirk, as they were no longer the team of just eleven mages from the past; now they had a significantly larger group under their command.

And these were not just any mages, but mages from the esteemed War god mage academy, individuals who had proven their mettle by surviving the gruelling trials and missions set forth by the academy.

None of them were amateurs; despite their shortcomings, they were all Tier 3 Mages capable of single-handedly incinerating multiple Tier 2 and Tier 1 Ghouls.

"All you need to do is envision yourself slaying ten enemies, and we’ll be good to go, the remaining Ghouls number only in the thousands, if each of you can eliminate about a minimum of ten Ghouls, you will survive this ordeal while the rest of us handle the Tier 3 Ghouls." Agnes said in a bid to boost morale

As she, along with Knight, Katie, and the original members of the commander team, led the Tier 3 Ghouls into a more open area elsewhere, as a strategic move to keep them away from the Sweden city guards with the exception of Lucas who stood his ground.

As the flame mages finally confronted the Ghouls in the huge space vacated in the middle by the Sweden city guards,

The guards on both side stood in shock, unable to interfere as a fierce battle unfolded before them, turning them into mere spectators in their own city’s war.

Only the first line of defense remained fighting , holding their ground against the onslaught of skeleton soldiers.

However, their fatigue seemed to have reached a limit, and it seems they would soon be completely overwhelmed.

The clash between the Ghouls and the flame mages created a spectacle, with blasts of flame magic sending flesh and blood splattering onto the raised shields of the Sweden city guards.

Some of the guards even felt the hot blood of the Ghouls splash upon them, fueling them with a rush of energy, making them believe they could take on anyone and anything.

A few guards even attempted to break formation and charge towards the attacking Ghouls.

"Maintain the line!" The Hive Queen’s voice resonated quietly to remind them to stay in position, although they couldn’t comprehend why they instinctively followed her orders without question.

But there was an indescribable commanding aura surrounding her that seemed to control them, and after two minutes later, her commanding voice echoed once again.

"Flame mages, retreat slowly while keeping the Ghouls at bay!, City guards, be prepared to attack! Swords positioned to pierce and stand your ground!" the Hive Queen commanded.

Although doubts lingered in their minds as to why they were heeding the words of a Golem, but the guards flawlessly executed her orders.

And as the last of the surviving flame mages finally emerged from the vacated middle lane, which had been cleared as a passage for the Ghouls to pass, the Hive Queen issued another command to both sides.

As the city guards, with their shields raised, were positioned to attack the Ghouls.

" Sandwich and crush these bastards into meat paste!" the Hive Queen exclaimed, clapping her hands together.

Although they may not have understood the concept of a sandwich, they knew exactly what she meant by that gesture.

With blades drawn, the both sides roared into action, as the rushed to meet each other piercing through the Ghouls trapped in between.

It became nearly impossible for the Ghouls to mount a counterattack, as they were spread out like meat on a table, awaiting their demise, with no space to even defend themselves.

Alec, observing from a distance, couldn’t help but smirk, his lips curved upward, forming a satisfied grin.

Oni, standing beside him, remarked,

"Master Hive Queen is having all the fun. Release us too." However, Titan’s stern gaze silenced him.

The rest of the student mage army cast fearful glances at the golems beside Alec, sensing the aura of danger emanating from them, even if they were not facing them.

Alec had summoned all of his golems that had reached the Tier 4 realm: Titan, Legion, Oni, and Butcher.

The remaining commanders were surprised by the remarkable growth of Alec’s golems.

While Beatrice had not expected the golems to have developed to such an extent.

The reasons many people gave up on the golem path are the limited breakthrough options and even if they find a breakthrough perfect for their golems, there is requirement for rare and expensive materials to achieve such breakthroughs.

She couldn’t help but feel that Alec was trying for growing alongside his golems.

The thought of how much he must have invested to have five Tier 3 golems, the same realm as him, crossed her mind.

Though she had two Tier 4 puppets while Alec had none, but she believed it was because she possessed supported by the marionette clan and considered herself more talented than most mages and it was basic knowledge that the money used to upgrade a puppet was very low in comparison to golem.

Still, she couldn’t help but feel joy as she observed Alec’s progress.

The Ghouls, who were being systematically killed off one by one, realized that they would never survive by remaining in the midst of the Sweden city guards.

They needed to come out and avoid being slowly slaughtered like meat in a grinder.

However, when they attempted to escape, they found themselves facing arachnid warriors waiting for them on both sides, wielding black blades.

These blades, with a hint of bronze at the bottom, pierced and killed any Ghoul that tried to make it out of the formation Hive Queen lured them into, effectively eliminating them.

The Tier 4 Ghoul, was visible frustrated by the situation of his minions trapped and butcher between the Sweden city guards, as it moved with such force that it caused a distortion in the spot where it had been standing.

It disappeared into the darkness, following a dark path, the battlefield had once been filled with houses, which had been destroyed countless times during previous wars, but smaller pillars still remained.

And under the Blood Moon, these pillars cast shadows on the ground, providing the Tier 4 Ghoul with the perfect disguise to pass through.

Lucas could feel his danger sense intensify, recognizing the imminent threat the moment the Tier 4 Ghoul disappeared from his view.

He quickly grasped the shaft of the glaive, spinning it towards the direction where he sensed the most danger.

And with precise timing, he blocked the attack from the Tier 4 Ghoul that had appeared behind him.

Though Lucas successfully blocked the attack, he didn’t relent, Immediately following his spinning block, as he transitioned into a backhand strike, aiming for the Ghoul’s waist.

However, he had not been able to hit, as the Ghoul moved at the last step away from danger, and the attack only managed to graze the it.

Just as Lucas pulled his glaive back and prepared to chase after the Ghoul, it opened its mouth and spat at him.

Reacting swiftly, Lucas raised his hands to block the spit, but to his surprise, the spot where the spit landed corroded his spirit equipment armor.

This made him more cautious about closing in on the Ghouls, as it had proven to be skilled at sneak attacks.

As Lucas hesitated, the Ghouls seized the opportunity to launch an attack, using its unnatural agility to its advantage. It relentlessly struck at him with its claws, making it difficult for Lucas to mount a proper counterattack.

He found himself in a tight spot, struggling to keep up with the Ghoul’s speed.

Gripping his glaive tightly with his right hand, he exposed himself to further attacks, relying on his spirit equipment armor to hold out before it gave way.

Deploying a wide sweeping strike, Lucas forced the Ghoul to move backward, creating some distance and disrupting its high-pressure assault.

This gave Lucas the much needed time to take the initiative, with swift movements, he followed up with quick thrusts of his glaive, capitalizing on the opening created by the sweeping attack.

With each thrust, Lucas infused his lightning element into his strikes, combining it with Qi.

The impact sent the Ghoul flying back several meters, when Lucas looked at the Ghoul, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of satisfaction as he realized he had finally pierced through the thick armor hide of the Tier 4 Ghoul.

Gripping his weapon once again, Lucas had a small smile on his face.

"It’s been a while since I’ve felt this way, ever since I entered the Mid ranks, it seems like my opponents are either too weak to withstand my attacks or not yet ready to face me," Lucas said, glancing over at Alec who was overseeing the battlefield.

"But now, I feel like I can unleash myself without any worries, for the first time, I can truly test my limits with your incredible endurance, so come, let’s see if you are truly my match," Lucas declared.

As his body flashed with golden lightning and his Qi energy surged wildly, forming a transparent Qi armor on top of his cracked spirit equipment armor, Lucas had been working on controlling both his Qi and his newly awakened lightning element ever since he entered the Mid ranks.

However, in this moment, he was not focused on control, he was simply releasing his power in a crude manner, as he had limited knowledge about lightning spells.

By incorporating his lightning into his Qi, he’s aimed to make his attacks more lethal, which resulted in its golden hue.
