THE GOD EATER-Chapter 370: Tree Person.
As she faltered and stumbled, she fell to the ground and didn’t stand up again. Both she and the person she was holding didn’t get up because the bullet had passed through the two of them.
Loki had a smile on his face when he saw this happen, but the guardian of nature cried out in a moanful tone, saying, "Noooooo!"
When Loki heard her sorrowful cry, he chuckled and said, "Go on and cry. Your world king had also done the same thing as he was slaughtered."
He didn’t stay in one place talking to her as he said this. As soon as he saw the yellow flash fall to the ground, he rushed towards the fallen guardian to grab her so that the red lightning that was spreading throughout the city wouldn’t engulf and destroy his loot.
The guardian of nature also wanted to save the yellow flash, but she wasn’t as fast as Loki. So Loki managed to reach the yellow flash before the guardian of nature.
When the green bird person saw him grab the yellow flash, she cried out again. But this time, it was in anger.
As she cried, she made plants grow around her with all of her power. Then she controlled the plants to combine around her and form a giant tree person.
She was at the center of the giant tree person and served as its heart. Then she stretched out the arm of the giant tree person towards him to grab him.
Loki snorted as he threw a ball of red lightning at the outstretched arm. The resulting explosion destroyed the arm and continued to spread the red lightning across the giant tree person.
This sight made Loki curl his lips and say, "Do you think anger would suddenly make you stronger? Do you think that all that you were missing earlier was just a touch of anger?"
She didn’t know what he was saying, but she didn’t like what he said anyway. She roared at him, saying, "Evil invader. Die! Die! Die!"
As the red lightning burned the green giant, she replenished it by making more plants to grow and join her. Then she rushed at him, hoping to crush him.
At this point, they are fighting in the city. Most of the city has also been covered by the red lightning. But she didn’t care about the red lightning or about the fact that their fight would cause the city to be damaged further.
She only wanted to kill him right now and was going all out to achieve this goal. Not only was she using all of her energy and power to fight him, but she was also consuming her life span to enhance her power.
The consumption of lifespan turned the green tree person into a red giant. This was because the plants that made up the giant tree person had turned blood red.
Unfortunately for her, this still wasn’t good enough to kill Loki. This was because he only needed to attack her once to damage her six times.
Besides the fact that his attacks were more efficient than hers, each injury that he inflicted left a lasting injury on the tree person. So each injury could bring down the tree person if given time. This made his attacks more effective than hers.
To top things off, she couldn’t avoid his attacks like the yellow flash could. The giant tree person that she was controlling was a slow lumbering giant, so it might as well be a stationary target to him. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
In less than 30 seconds of fighting, the giant tree person fell apart. It was at this point that she decided that it was a good idea to run away.
With the tree giant crumbling around her and running out of her energy, she broke out of the remnants and took to the air to escape. But two bullets struck her from the sky.
The intensive fighting just now had weakened her immensely, and she had aged to nearly the limit of her lifespan. So when the two bullets struck her, she gave up the ghost and died.
She began to fall from the sky to the ground. Loki didn’t want her to fall into the burning city below, so he rushed over to grab her.
Since he was done extracting the core of the guardian of light, he threw her body away. This made room for the corpse of the guardian of nature. Then he flew away from the burning city.
As he flew away, he took one last look at the consumed city and said, "This power is too dangerous. Even I, its creator, can’t determine the extent of what it will destroy."
Then he shook his head and disappeared into the distance.
The city was burning, but there was no smoke. There was only the rumbling of thunder as it spread throughout the city and the white ashes that it left behind.
After devouring the core of the yellow flash, Fenrir absorbed it and used the power that made her a world guardian to upgrade itself. Fenrir did the same thing with the power core of the guardian of nature.
The two power cores were used to upgrade one energy chamber with Fenrir each. This upgrade directly doubled the capacity of the energy chambers. So two energy chambers jumped from 90 units to 180 units.
This made his eyes light up. He smacked his lips and said, "So that’s what they are used for. No wonder Fenrir wanted to eat them so badly."
"Isn’t this what the benefits of Dragon Heart are supposed to be? Who would have thought that these world guardians are actually made of such good stuff?"
He licked his lips again and said, "Just two out of five won’t do. I need to get three more."
"But where can I find three more guardians? These world guardians like to hide themselves. Will I have to scour the whole small world or wait until their position is revealed?"
