The Glorious Transcendent-Chapter 53: Unfortunately, it’s not about what you saw here
"What just happened?" Wang Tu opened his eyes.
He was resting atop a tree, waiting for Fu Ren to finish the massacre so they could leave the area.
Everything had been quiet and uneventful—until now.
He suddenly felt something strange, a subtle shift in the air that made him sit up slightly.
"Fu Ren?... Fu Ren? What’s going on over there?" Wang Tu sent a message through the link.
No reply came.
Just silence.
His connection with Fu Ren was completely cut off, and without warning.
Wang Tu immediately felt threatened and adjusted his posture swiftly.
He began to sense his surroundings with greater precision than before.
In front of him stood Ray Kang, unmoving, the distance between them less than 150 meters. About 20 meters behind Ray Kang was his partner.
Beyond that, there was no one else in the vicinity—but even so, Wang Tu couldn’t feel at ease.
A severed connection meant one of two things:
Either Fu Ren had moved out of range,
Or he was dead.
But the link with Fu Ren hadn’t gradually weakened due to distance—it had been cut off abruptly.
And that could only mean one thing.
"He was killed... He’s stronger than me, yet he was killed instantly without even warning me." Wang Tu felt a deep sense of threat.
"Looks like I’m the one who’s fallen into a trap here. Ray Kang is just here to distract me, while someone hidden is stalking us."
"If he took down Fu Ren so fast, then I’m no match for him. And he’s definitely coming here. If I don’t escape now, I might never get the chance."
Wang Tu’s thoughts raced as he analyzed the situation.
"Ray Kang’s team has almost been completely wiped out, which means the hidden one isn’t part of the team. Otherwise, why would he let his teammates die one after another?"
"Which means... it could be one of the Four Leaders..."
His body trembled at the thought.
No one is unaware of the Second Rank individuals—they are known throughout the city for their terrifying strength and authority.
And without a doubt, everyone has heard of the Four Leaders who govern the city they’re targeting.
If he were to be chased by even one of them, there would be no escape. He would be captured and sealed without mercy.
Without wasting another second or uttering a single word, Wang Tu turned around and left—fast, silent, and without hesitation.
Ray Kang gripped his bow and prepared himself.
"What is he planning?"
He waited a little, but it didn’t seem like Wang Tu had any plan—he had simply left.

"Oh, nine thousand essence, these sinners are really rich..."
Kogan sensed himself and found gains more than expected.
He wiped the blood off his hand, brushed himself off, then looked up toward the sky.
’I think it’s from this direction...’
He bent down and grabbed the right leg and right hand of Fu Rin.
"You... you killed him!"
Kogan raised his eyebrows and turned his head back slightly.
It was Wei Tong and his partner Mi Chen.
They stood there trembling, unable to believe what had happened.
Kogan smiled faintly and threw Fu Rin’s body into the air, sending it soaring in a certain direction.
Wei Tong and Mi Chen gasped, their eyes nearly popping out of their sockets.
"We didn’t expect you to be this strong. You really saved us," Mi Chen said softly.
Her face was pale from fear, mixed with redness from exhaustion after running.
"This is the power of a first-rank, and from the upper tier as well," Wei Tong said nervously, unable to hide a bit of excitement.
Who wouldn’t want to have a strong and reliable member in their team for situations like this?
Someone who could act without hesitation, someone who wouldn’t flinch when things got messy. In a world where a single moment of doubt could cost lives, having someone like Kogan was more than just helpful—it was essential.
This action showed that Kogan was not on their ordinary level, but at the same strength as Rai Kang—or maybe even stronger.
It wasn’t just the kill itself, but the calm precision, the cold decisiveness.
"Indeed," Kogan said calmly, shaking his hands with a smile toward them.
Wei Tong and Mi Chen were surprised and looked at each other in astonishment.
"You ... can talk?" Mi Chen asked, confusion clear on her face.
"Of course," Kogan replied, the smile still on his face.
He bent down and picked up one of Fu Rin’s arrows.
"That’s really great, this way we can get to know each other," Wei Tong said with a broad smile on his face.
"But... since when did you regain your senses? Or were you like this from the beginning..." Mi Chen asked, curiosity in her voice.
"It doesn’t matter, it doesn’t matter. The important thing is that we survived. Kogan, let’s meet up with the others," Wei Tong interrupted her sharply.
The feeling of danger hadn’t disappeared from his heart. He wanted Mi Chen to stop digging into things that didn’t concern her.
Now, for the first time in his life, Wei Tong longed to see his captain, Rai Kang.
Before Wei Tong could realize what was happening, Kogan thrust the arrow into Mi Chen’s head.
Two streams of blood trickled from her nose as her pupils dilated.
Kogan shook the arrow free, releasing Mi Chen’s lifeless body.
Wei Tong stared wide-eyed at his fallen partner’s corpse on the ground, trembling lips whispering, "W-what... what did you do? Why?"
He looked into Kogan’s eyes, "We wouldn’t have told anyone what we saw here... she didn’t deserve to die."
"Unfortunately, it’s not about what you saw here," Kogan replied coldly.
Wei Tong stared at him, his body shaking.
"Aaaahhh!" he screamed at the top of his lungs.
But at that very moment, Kogan stabbed him, silencing his scream.
Wei Tong collapsed to the ground, dead.
Kogan glanced at their bodies and sighed silently in his heart.
