The Gentle Maiden and Five Lustful Brothers-Chapter 203: A proposal
"The Princess of Vampires? You mean the daughter of the body you’re possessing? How cruel. Mother and Daughter destined to play out the worlds final battle." Rogue King Theoron laughed manically.
Ezelreth smiled. The sheer chaos of this was something fueling his excitement.
Violet was in shambles. But feeling more determined than ever to find a way to beat Ezelreth.
Even at the cost of her own life.
That’s what Ezelreth didn’t realize. The goddess Artemis wasn’t cruel when she manipulated fate.
She was smart, she didn’t pin them against each other but put them on the same team.
It wasn’t a battle fought alone on the outside.
But one that would unfold internally as well.
Odette was safe. She was strong. And she was well protected. And that is one thing Violet was grateful of having had that encounter.
Back in Transylvania, the vampires were in the middle of a discussion on military tactic and the possibility of Jeremy teaming up with the witches to create something that could poison, cripple, and bring the Turned to a disadvantage point.
When Leviathan looked up at them and said "I have to go. I have a guest waiting at my door."
"You still taking questions?" Oliver raised a questioning look.
"Always, it’s my purpose. I will always have answers for questions that need asking." And with that he disappeared. Leaving the room.
"He’s so weird." Oliver grumbled.
"You’re weird. Now focus." Jeremy bit back annoyed. He was in a delicate phase of his experiment. He was making a liquid sun. But what he needed was an antidote for his own people. In case they were hit by the projectile.
If Oliver lost focus and stopped mixing the liquid the sunlight inside the beaker would stop shining and it would be completely useless, and his efforts would have been for nothing.
Lilith was still missing. Vlad and Ash were focused on training their army and discussing battle plans. His heart still aching for his wife and child. Ash has been so focused, in an effort to distract himself from his anxiety and anger.
When the Leviathan left the vampires, he traveled quickly to his domain.
"You rang?" The Leviathan smirked.
"Leviathan." Phera growled, "I come with news and a message."
He smiled and led her into his portal, allowing her access into his domain.
Phera has never seen his domain, it was very different from hers. His was made of stone and crystal. And the sky was a mirrored reflection of underwater.
"I have nothing new to offer in trade." He answered sarcastically.
"You have your word." Phera answered showing unwavering seriousness.
"Fine, fine." Leviathan swirled his hands in the air.
"The MoonChild has now had her first encounter with the DarkChild. Who is with the rogue king. History is moving forward, but things are drastically different, we must prepare."
The Leviathan’s eyes popped open. "That fast, huh? Destiny wastes no time."
"The Vampires need to meet with Odette and form an alliance with the shifters. The shifters will host a Gala in three weeks time. Their presence will be mandatory. The MoonChild will be revealed. The past is catching up and it’s time the world knew the truth. I have a feeling Artemis will make her presence known."
"What about the other gods?" The Leviathan asked.
"They are the least involved gods and focus more on their realm than this one. They prefer the fae and spirits."
"Yeah, yeah, the gods and their favorites."
"Still mad they abandoned you?" Phera teased, poking at an old wound.
"Always." He thought about how Artemis was the only one who ever paid him any mind at all.
"The DarkChild has employed the aid of the Rogue King in this life." Phera volunteered.
"That’s most certainly new. This changes a lot of things. But, I don’t think it’ll be a problem to get a meeting established; the vampires are pretty desperate to get their princess back." Leviathan answered.
"She won’t be returning she will remain with her mate and her pack. She doesn’t belong to the vampires, she’s not a creation of Cerberus, she’s a creation of Artemis, she belongs with the shifters, as their Luna and Queen. The life she didn’t get the first time." Phera held firm on that point.
Artemis had planned to pair Onyx and Omara in their first life, but Omara fell in love with a vampire instead. Creating the first alliance. It’s one of the few times a fate was changed. Artemis didn’t make the same mistake this time. Her daughter would rule over her people as she had originally planned.
"They won’t be pleased, but that’s their problem." Leviathan shrugged.
"Any word from Lilith?" Phera poked.
"No, but that’s as expected. She’ll want the invite, so she’ll come back if I send a message on the wind."
"I see. I’ll be on my way; I must return to the MoonChild."
"This won’t be easy. You know?" The Leviathan yelled to Phera as she exited his portal.
"It’s not supposed to be, you know." Phera raised an eyebrow before leaving his domain and heading back to Odette.
Leviathan stood waiting. Taking in the truth.
He knew history was repeating itself, that was obvious. But the reality of it was settling in.
And unlike the last war, he would play an active role in this one.
He left his domain and the whole way back, thought of ways to explain they would be able to see Odette, hold her, but they wouldn’t be leaving with her.
With how unpredictable Ash has been lately, he was curious to see how this would pan out.
When Leviathan arrived back at the palace. He called for an audience with the family.
"Alright, speak up, what did you learn while you were gone?" Ash folded his arms and leaned back in his chair. He was pulled away from a training session and hoped this would be worth it.
"I come with news. News of Odette and Violet."
This brought everyone in the room to the edge of their seat.
"What news?" Ash asked.
"The Violet is with the Rogue King. And Odette now knows her Mother is for sure possessed by the enemy. Fate has made it’s move. Now it’s our turn. We have been invited to a meeting with the MoonChild, a proposal of alliance."
