The Game of a Legendary Genius Dark Mage-Chapter 391
0.
Chiiiii——.
With the sound of ❀ Nоvеlігht ❀ (Don’t copy, read here) the capsule opening, Seong stepped out.
Lee Geon-dong, who’d been watching, greeted him like he knew him.
“Finished?”
“Yeah. Guess you were watching?”
“Yup—pff, hahahaha. Today was fun again.”
“Hael-hyungnim really has great broadcast instincts.”
“Yeah, for sure.”
At Seong’s words, Lee Geon-dong could only nod in agreement.
There weren’t many with talent like that.
Without that talent, you wouldn’t even hit a thousand average viewers, much less ten thousand.
These days there are quite a few people hitting around the ten-thousand mark, but it was still undeniably a strong result.
Especially at this level range, Mihael’s streaming skills were good enough to call talent outright.
So at Seong’s words, Geon-dong had no choice but to acknowledge it.
Keeping up with Seong’s lives was an extension of work anyway.
Naturally so.
Only—
“Hey, how long do you think Floor 75 would’ve taken if you’d gone in alone?”
“By myself?”
“Yeah, you and your vassals.”
“Hmmm.”
At Geon-dong’s question, Seong thought for a moment.
They’d spent basically all day clearing Floor 75 with Mihael’s party.
Honestly speaking, even for Seong it wasn’t exactly an easy difficulty.
The maze being complicated was a fact, and not being able to break the maze walls was a real headache too.
Asked how long it would’ve taken him alone, Seong answered honestly.
“I don’t think it would’ve taken me an hour.”
“Knew it......”
At Seong’s answer, Lee Geon-dong could only nod.
Mihael’s party was capable, but it was clear they couldn’t match Seong solo.
From Geon-dong’s perspective—knowing Seong was the Demon King—that much showed through.
It showed that Seong was holding back.
Thinking that, Geon-dong said,
“Hmmm, so you’ll tell them later?”
“Probably? I figured it’d be fun content to tell them once the backup team’s mostly up and then compete.”
“That would be fun.”
Thinking that, on this front too, Seong’s sense for content planning was better than expected. Geon-dong followed up with a question.
“You haven’t told that Mihael guy yet, right?”
“Yeah, I haven’t said anything yet.”
“Hmmm, you should probably tell him soon.”
At Geon-dong’s words, Seong nodded.
He’d been mulling it over anyway.
He worried it might weigh on Mihael’s party.
Of course, from Mihael’s party’s point of view, Seong being the Demon King was something to celebrate with both hands.
It was basically the chance for their stream to skyrocket.
But separate from that, the fact remained that Seong had been hiding it.
So it weighed on him a little. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
“Well, I’ll tell him, and if he gets mad I’ll apologize. If he starts angling for a bigger payoff, then that’s as far as it goes.”
“I don’t think he’s that type, though.”
“Which is why agonizing over it before saying anything is a waste of time.”
“True.”
Seeing Geon-dong of all people offer useful advice made Seong smirk.
As if satisfied, Geon-dong said,
“Mm, anyway let’s talk about that later.”
“Right, we need to pack.”
“It’s a ‘site check’ tomorrow, but honestly it’s basically a quick little trip for just us.”
“Mmm, that’s true.”
“Heh heh heh, I’m kind of looking forward to tomorrow.”
At his words, Seong smirked and started separating out the swimsuit and various things he’d bought in advance.
It was only an overnight trip, so there wasn’t much to pack.
Packing like that, feeling a little flutter at the thought that this was sort of a getaway, wasn’t just Lee Geon-dong—Seong felt it too.
It was his first time going on a summer trip with friends like this.
With eyes full of anticipation, Seong packed his bag.
1.
A similar scene was playing out at An Yoo-jin’s place.
Luna—no, An Yoo-bin—came out after squeezing every last minute from her playtime, and without even taking a moment to stretch or feel tired, she hurried to her room and started packing.
Holding up this outfit, then that one, she agonized over what to bring.
And among those choices, the biggest dilemma was the swimsuit.
She’d bought several just in case, but she didn’t know which to wear, and stood in front of the mirror looking flustered.
‘...What do I do?’
It was a pool villa with a big pool, and they’d said they would swim, so a swimsuit was a must—but which style to bring was a serious question.
There were swimsuits that covered her as much as possible, and some pretty daring ones that really highlighted her figure. Swallowing nervously, she stood in front of the mirror, hesitating, when—
“What are you doing?”
“Oh—Unni!?”
Yu Mina tilted her head in the doorway, asking what she was up to.
Then, seeing Yoo-bin choosing between swimsuits, she grinned.
“Oho?”
“I—I was picking a swimsuit.”
Watching Yoo-bin trail off at the end, Yu Mina smiled in a teasing way and said,
“Hmmm, well you show about that much skin in the game anyway, so that bikini should be fine, right?”
“T-This one?!”
“Yeah, that one.”
Where Mina pointed was a swimsuit with very little coverage.
By normal standards, it’d be pretty shocking; for Yoo-bin, it was extremely shocking. She gulped.
Watching her, Mina smiled mischievously and said,
“I think that one looks the prettiest~”
“D-Do you think so...?”
Looking again at the swimsuit she’d been hesitating over at Mina’s words—
It was definitely pretty.
There was even a drape of fabric that could somewhat cover the hips, so it looked quite pretty while still highlighting her figure.
Just then, as Yoo-bin was chewing over Mina’s suggestion,
Yoo-jin, who’d been listening, appeared asking what they were doing.
“Picking a swimsuit? Oh?”
Then, looking at the one Yoo-bin was holding, she said,
“Yeah, that one’s cute.”
“Right?”
“Y-Yeah, it is cute.”
With both older sisters calling it pretty, Yoo-bin couldn’t help but start to come around.
Mina and Yoo-jin, seeing her, grinned and said,
“It’s just us anyway, so who cares.”
“Pack another swimsuit too. If it’s uncomfortable when you try it on, you can change.”
“Exactly, exactly.”
“U-Unnis?!”
Yoo-jin and Mina teamed up and started picking out a bunch of outfits, and Yoo-bin ended up packing a mountain of stuff.
Well, as usual with women, Mina’s and Yoo-jin’s luggage was substantial too.
In any case, compared to Seong’s and Lee Geon-dong’s bags, it was practically moving-day volume.
It was only an overnight trip.
But the amount looked enough for a whole month, and thinking it might be a bit much, Mina muttered,
“Sss—maybe it’s a little much?”
“It is a lot.”
“That’s true...”
Then Mina noticed something off, looked between the sisters Yoo-jin and Yoo-bin, and realized what she’d overlooked.
“Wait a sec?”
“What?”
“What is it?”
“You two get to go with your ‘it’s complicated’ guys and I don’t have a date!?”
Hack, hack.
“Wh—What!?”
Startled, Yoo-jin and Yoo-bin choked in unison, and Mina stared at them, looking a little aggrieved.
As if she’d become the sacrifice necessary for Mina to go on a trip with a guy.
Mina narrowed her eyes at them, and Yoo-bin struck first.
“...You were the one who suggested we go, Unni.”
“Oh. Right.”
“Phew, almost talked myself into stopping you.”
Mina shot Yoo-jin a look.
This wasn’t over yet.
“Hrrrrmm.”
“Okay, okay. We can set you up on a blind date too.”
In the end, Yoo-jin surrendered with both hands up, and Mina finally smiled, satisfied.
Watching her two older sisters, Yoo-bin also let out a sigh of relief.
The pool villa they were going to had a beach nearby, so they were packing swimsuits with the idea of checking that out too.
They had to think about the distance to the beach and transportation.
There were a few logistics to scout and plan.
But more than any of that, Yoo-bin flushed at the thought of going on a trip with Seong.
They weren’t going just the two of them, but she had a feeling it was going to be a pretty exciting trip.
2.
The next morning they’d been looking forward to.
The charm of a trip is, of course, going together, so rather than split up cars, they decided to take one vehicle. Lee Geon-dong and Seong were waiting in front of the house.
Just then, compared to Seong’s or Mina’s other cars, a black vehicle with a quieter exhaust note pulled up to the curb.
A BMW X7—the car dads call their dream ride—rolled in, and since Seong had only recently gotten interested in cars, his eyes lit up.
Rather than the image of a typical “bongo van,” it looked like a really sleek SUV, and Seong and Geon-dong both thought it looked pretty nice.
The window rolled down, and from the passenger seat Mina grinned at them and said,
“Hey. Get in.”
“...How old is that catchphrase?”
“And the fact that you recognize it, Seong...”
“Pff—ha!”
“Excuse us.”
Chattering like that, as Geon-dong and Seong went to get in, they loaded the bags into the trunk first. Then Geon-dong glanced at Yoo-bin sitting in the second row, said nothing, and quietly went to the third row to sit.
Naturally, that left Seong in the second row beside Yoo-bin.
Seong didn’t think much of it, but Yoo-bin gave a small smile, lowered her head, and greeted him.
“Hello.”
“Hello.”
After they exchanged greetings, Yoo-bin, noticing Seong sweating a little, asked,
“Did you wait long?”
“No, not long, but it is hot—it’s summer.”
Watching them in the rear-view mirror, Yoo-jin turned the wheel again and said,
“All right, we’re departing. Seatbelts on, everyone.”
““Yes!””
Everyone answered, and Yoo-jin smirked and started driving.
Maybe because the car was aimed at the family market, the ride was definitely comfortable. With a fresh breeze, they rolled out.
Seong and everyone else wore content smiles as they set off.
Their destination: Sokcho, Gangwon-do.
It was an advance scouting trip, so strictly speaking it wasn’t just for fun—
But none of them were thinking about burdens or responsibilities.
They just figured it was a quick play trip and, with music flowing from the speakers, the car filled with lively chatter as they all enjoyed themselves together.
Seong, too, smiled along with the vibe, and before long—
“We’re coming up on a rest stop—anyone want to go?”
At Yoo-jin’s words, everyone raised their hands for a rest stop.
Yeah—on a trip like this, you can’t skip the rest stops.
