The game has become a real alternate world-Chapter 875 - 557: Chaos Unleashed
In a forest, several figures darted through like ghosts. Only their leaping shadows could be seen, their faces remained unclear.
"Hurry up, we’re almost out of time!" urged the figure at the forefront, unable to conceal the impatience in their voice.
The teammates following around and behind remained silent, merely speeding up their pace. This time, they moved faster, with no intent to hide, their figures swiftly threading through the forest, snapping branches and leaves in their path.
Before long, they charged out of the forest, leaping straight into the clearing beyond. Before their eyes was an expected vast plain, barren and desolate, dotted only with scattered stones and twigs.
Just as the leading person was about to land, a Land Bird appeared beneath them out of nowhere. The same thing happened with those following.
The group mounted the Land Birds, racing forward, finally revealing their faces. It turned out to be the team led by Vier.
Their urgent pursuit in the central area clearly indicated they had already discovered their target’s trail.
Riding at the forefront was Anger, responsible for tracking. The target he pursued was the one he considered his own mistake – the [Merciful Sect Leader].
Suddenly, a dense chaos aura surged ahead of them, followed by a rapid increase and expansion of Chaos Power around them.
"Quick!" This time, it wasn’t Anger who shouted, but Yorndaren, slightly behind. He pushed his Land Bird to accelerate, recklessly charging forward.
Such intense Chaos Power undoubtedly meant that troublemakers sent by the Evil God were conducting a highly advanced ritual. This ritual must be stopped, disrupted, or once chaos erupts here, the consequences would be unimaginable.
Upon hearing, the others silently sped up. Soon, the situation was relayed outwards. Judging by the chaos of the ritual, it must be suppressed in time.
"Boom!" A roar exploded.
Just as they were about to reach the destination, a three-meter-tall Gate of Abyss appeared ahead. Its pitch-black frame seemed built from piled bones, with a thin membrane of energy swirling inside as if to swallow one’s soul.
"Where do you think you’re going, Night Watchers?" A thunderous shout emanated from within the gate as a clawed hand with dark red, fleshy skin emerged, gripping the frame tightly. Then, a figure forced its way out from within.
The entire Gate of Abyss twisted under its brute force. Once it completely emerged, the frame couldn’t withstand the pressure and shattered with a crash.
"You go on, I’ll handle this!" Tyr abruptly halted his Land Bird. Before his words were finished, he charged at the Demon, weapon in hand.
Though he hadn’t reached the pinnacle of Level Ten, the demon before him was only slightly stronger, still within his manageable range.
"Be careful." The teammates left these words behind, continuing to rush forward without looking back. Now was not the time for hesitation.
"Have your companions abandoned you, poor Night Watcher?" The demon opened its massive maw, its voice rough and mocking.
Tyr simply stared at it, gripping his Weapon, calmly responding, "It’s called trust, you chaotic fool."
"Trust? Hahahaha!" The demon laughed maniacally, its voice increasingly deranged.
"Sorry, I can’t comprehend! But I’ll learn your emotions from your soul, and it surely will be delightful!"
The demon, seeing through Tyr’s attempt to delay it and the ritual’s progress, lifted its claws, viciously lunging forward.
"Reckless mongrel." Tyr muttered a curse under his breath and charged forward, colliding fiercely with the demon, igniting the battle.
...
Meanwhile, the remaining team members continued their relentless sprint forward. Along the way, many Evil God Followers emerged, taking advantage of the Descent ritual.
"Something’s wrong, how are these demons and damn Apostles descending so easily? One after another, this ritual can’t possibly be this effective?" Vier was puzzled.
These suddenly emerging Apostles were clearly not the Evil God Followers originally from this world. Undoubtedly, they were Apostles from beyond the world, already serving under the Evil God’s banner.
Although not all of them possessed Legendary power, each was undeniably strong. Such a large-scale Descent was baffling.
Moreover, they could see from afar that the ritual constructed by the Evil God, although intense, was far from the scale needed to support such a vast Descent ritual.
After all, just half a month ago, similar Level rituals were common on the front lines, yet this situation had never occurred before.
"Now’s not the time to think about this; we need to reach the ritual site and find out what the hell they’re doing!" Yorndaren urged, as the group arrived near the ritual site.
In the depression of the plain, they saw many dead souls. These souls seemed infected by an unknown plague, transformed into strange Spiritual Bodies, tearing and gnawing at each other in the air.
Cracks could already be seen in the air, like those left on glass by a heavy punch.
"Crack!" With the gnawing and tearing of souls, a sound like breaking glass accompanied by creaking footsteps could be heard.
Seeing this, Vier couldn’t help but quip, "I finally understand why it’s so easy for demons to Descend here."
The situation was clear: the Evil God was conducting some ritual to damage the already Fragile space nodes here. From the start of the ritual to their arrival, in just a few minutes, the space had been torn to shreds.
Yorndaren stood motionless, staring at the scene. Memories surged in his mind, the sight reminding him of past events.
"Crack!" Another sound like breaking glass resounded as a crack in the air abruptly shattered, releasing a peculiar ripple that spread outward, causing the Chaos Power to tremble.
The impact was so strong that even the Evil God Followers nearby stumbled back. Even Vier and the others, newly arrived at the perimeter, swayed under its force.
From the minute cracks, a faint purple energy mist emerged, weighing down as it drifted to the ground.
As he saw this mist, Yorndaren’s mind felt a thunderous shock.
"Stop them! Even if it costs us our lives!" Yorndaren shouted with all his might, rushing forward with everything he had, unleashed, resembling a man possessed.
For he had seen this Power before, in past experiences that left deep scars in his memory.
