The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective-Chapter 451 - 263: Jiang An’s Meticulous Deduction
Five minutes later, two black business cars pulled up at the hotel entrance.
Three directors, Mr. Zhang, Mr. Ma, and others came downstairs.
Mr. Ma personally walked forward and opened the car door.
He then smiled and said, "Mr. Bai, please get in."
Mr. Bai nodded, didn’t hesitate, and sat inside.
The other two directors followed suit and got in as well.
Finally, Mr. Zhang and Mr. Ma got into the car together.
Li Jian, Jiang An, Zhang Yean, and Wan got into the second black business car.
The vehicle started slowly, and sitting in the back row, Wan raised his hand and patted Li Jian.
"Mr. Li, what do you think, now that we’re going back to the Crime Scene again, will we find any breakthroughs?"
Li Jian twitched the corner of his mouth, his expression serious, as if recalling the entire process of that case from back then.
After a long pause, he said in a heavy voice, "I don’t know if we can solve it, but I have this feeling that we’re not far from the truth."
As he spoke, he sighed.
"Come to think of it, this case has been unresolved for ten years."
"Ten years ago, I was young like all of you, just entering the profession."
"But this case has always been a regret in my heart."
As soon as he finished, Zhang Yean turned to look at Jiang An.
"Captain, let’s remedy our past regrets."
"Today Jiang An is here, along with three directors, I believe this case won’t take long to solve."
Li Jian then turned to glance at Jiang An.
He responded, "Yeah, today’s team is strong."
"Back then, we also considered submitting this case to the Ministry of Public Security, to have experts guide us."
"But Mr. Zhang was very confident in our abilities."
"Moreover, he rarely sought help, hoping we could be self-reliant and tackle it as a priority case."
"Despite this, our task force was formed many times, each time failing to solve the case and then disbanding."
Li Jian sighed.
"A decade has passed in the blink of an eye, many of us have gone from black hair to white."
"Hopefully, this time our hopes won’t be dashed."
Then Zhang Yean turned to look at Jiang An.
"Junior, do you have confidence in yourself?"
Jiang An grinned.
"I don’t know."
"Come on, you’re our beacon of hope."
A hint of helplessness flashed across Jiang An’s face.
"I feel an immense pressure to solve the case this time."
Hearing his words, Li Jian turned and looked at him.
"Indeed."
"If it were a recent homicide, we could examine the site traces repeatedly."
"But."
"This Crime Scene is already a decade old."
"Even if some traces existed, if they weren’t discovered then, finding them later would be improbable."
"In these ten years, though we had the site sealed off, it couldn’t guarantee that small animals didn’t destroy it."
"This could significantly hinder our understanding and judgment of the site."
Next, Jiang An nodded and said, "Mr. Li speaks the truth."
"The longer a Crime Scene is left, the more severe the damage."
"Often, the first traces are the most accurate and valuable."
Zhang Yean forced a relaxed smile.
"No problem."
"With three directors and our elite team members, if this case doesn’t get solved, I’d suspect there might not be a culprit at all."
"Haha, no culprit?"
Wan joked, "Did a ghost appear in broad daylight?"
Thirty minutes later, two black business cars arrived at the street where the incident took place.
The passage of time has seen the street now looking clean compared to the photos from the case file.
Many buildings have been torn down and rebuilt.
But the hair salon, however, remains in its original state.
As they got out of the car, they saw the door of the salon still had a seal affixed.
Despite the exposure to the elements, the red stamp was still visible.
Mr. Zhang, Mr. Ma, and Li Jian quickly walked up.
As the three saw this seal, they paused, and memories flooded their minds.
Back then, Mr. Zhang and Mr. Ma were still in the prime of their lives.
Li Jian was a rookie police officer.
So many years have passed, and the marks of time are visible on their faces.
Li Jian raised his hand and tore off the seal, then took out a key from his pocket.
With a clatter, the rolling shutter was pushed up.
Mr. Zhang gestured invitingly.
"Mr. Bai, please go ahead."
Mr. Bai nodded.
Inside, it looked somewhat dark.
Suddenly, a nearby group of investigators with bright flashlights came in.
Under the strong light, the state of the original scene was clearly visible.
After the three directors entered, they looked around with serious expressions.
Mr. Ma hurriedly stepped forward to explain, "At the time, the body was right here."
Where everyone looked, a chalk outline could be seen on the ground.
All items in the room remained unchanged.
"After we surveyed the site, we restored it entirely even if there were slight movements, maintaining its original state."
Upon hearing, Mr. Bai gently nodded.
"This is very well done!"
"Later involvement might interfere with reconstructing the original crime scene and behavior."
