The Forbidden Heiress At The All Male Alpha Academy-Chapter 192: The Beginning of the End
The air held its breath upon her words, and she heard the collective gasp that waved through the seated persons. Even the old man flinched, like she had just uttered the biggest abomination there was.
The certainty on Cain’s face flickered for the first time, and that brought her this wild sense of achievement. It was nice seeing that expression of his like he can predict the future fall off, and then his aura deepened.
"You do...not?" An eye of his twitched.
She raised her chin again, challenging him with her eyes. She wouldn’t let him win so easily, think he has everybody and everything wrapped around his fingers. She was going to make sure everyday of his life was pure torture from her, the same way he’s ruined hers.
Then, he smiled.
And she knew he was about to do something terrible.
Cain raised a hand to the air, and snapped his fingers leisurely. Dragging footsteps approached them, and her firm look slowly changed to horror as she saw Aurelius on his knees, dragged down the aisle like a slave by two huge warriors.
His face was battered and bruised, like it’d be used as a personal punching bag all night. He looked almost irrecognizable, and a limb from his leg and arm dangled without angle, clearly broken.
Leonard Voss was instantly on his feet, his robe draping around him with the sharp movement, "What the hell is this supposed to mean?!" He snapped, glaring at the men holding his son, then down to Cain.
As huge as Aurelius was, his father was much more formidable. Aurelius was the lesser version of him.
The moment Cain turned his attention to Leonard, Theo watched as the brooding, angry Alpha’s rage turned into a short, small almost whimper-like voice. Leonard looked away, his voice suddenly tight, "I mean...,"
"You mean what, Voss?!" Cain demanded, his eyes dark, then let out a sinister laugh, "You should be on your knees thanking me that I didn’t attack the south and leave your territory in blood and terror, after you and Blackthorn went behind my back and engaged your son to his daughter,"
Theo’s eyes snapped up. Cain knew!
She could see the fear now rising in both Alpha’s eyes, and her father was looking everywhere but Cain.
Then, Cain stepped down the altar and into the aisle. Every step was heavy, causing hearts to tremble as he approached where Darius was seated.
"Friends, was it?" He asked with a deadly tone.
Finally, Darius looked up at him.
"Friends, Blackthorn," Cain continued, "That was what everybody called us. Friends. Acquaintances. This marriage between me and your daughter was supposed to solidify that, and you even did us the honours of announcing it to the world," He paused.
Darius sucked in a deep breath.
"Friends, was it?" Cain repeated slowly.
The silence that followed was too tense to stand. Theodora couldn’t believe what she was witnessing. The other four Alphas, as demanding and overwhelm as their aura was, couldn’t even look Cain in the eye for more than five seconds.
She was much better at standing up to him than they were. Was it because she had a silver wolf?
Darius quickly lowered his head, his voice quivering, "I made a grave mistake, Cain,"
Leonard also had his head down.
"I I... just wanted to...," Darius continued, and Theo’s jaw had dropped. She’s never seen her father like this. The image she’s always had of him in her head was his cold glare toward her, and everything that constituted to his Alpha self.
"You think I wouldn’t find out," Cain cut him off sharply, "You underestimated what I could do, and that is exactly why I intercepted the convoy Voss has sent to take her away from Gravemont tonight, and I believe you can find their bodies strapped to a pole by now...that is if it hasn’t already been electrocuted," He found it so amusing.
"And what better way to teach you all a lesson than punish that which means the most to you," Cain continued, then walked up to Aurelius and grabbed his chin, lifting his bloody face up. Everywhere was swollen, everywhere was broken, "A little like this,"
A fist tore through the air, and it collided with Aurelius’s face. The boy collapsed on the floor.
"No!!" Theo cried and quickly ran down to him, squatting down and lifting him carefully. Her white dress splashed with blood but she didn’t care, "Aurelius, are you alright?"
He couldn’t speak. Both eyes were too swollen for him to see anything, and she wondered how he was breathing through that deformed nose.
She snapped her eyes up at Cain, "Stop punishing innocent people just to soothe your gigantic ego! Aurelius had nothing to do with his. Our families made the decision not him!"
"I’ll let him go," Cain said.
Did she just hear him right?
"If you play your part tonight," He continued, "It’s almost dawn, you see. And I went through all the trouble of gathering all the powerful Alpha for this joyous occasion,"
"What do you want?" She gritted her teeth.
"For you to say the words," He replied, "Say...I DO,"
She was trembling again.
"Or else...,"
The men suddenly yanked Aurelius back up and she reacted slowly due to her lack of wolf. A strangled cry tore out of his bloody lips as his other arm was snapped in front of her eyes.
"STOP!!" She cried and sent a fist to the face of the warrior that had done it, but it didn’t do as much damage as she wanted. Just a nosebleed. He didn’t even trip back even in the slightest.
She caught Aurelius before he crumbled to the floor again, his body slack against hers.
"Make your decision now before they break the last limb," Cain leaned closer to her face, "And If you don’t, I’ll turn him into my default punching bag, and I’ll hit him everyday till he’s at the point of death,"
She was furious. Even without her wolf, her eyes turned Golden for a second. She panted from anger, cradling Aurelius’s face on her legs. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
"If I say the words," She gritted her teeth, a tear rolling down her face, "Do you promise to let him go?"
Cain reached out and swiped the tear away. Theo flinched, disgust and discomforts rolling through her. Cain smiled like he enjoyed seeing her like that, then he cupped her face this time.
"Of course," He answered, "I’ll let the Voss go,"
She was still panting, and then she looked down at Aurelius. He was so innocent in all of this. The people supposed to be receiving torture were their fathers! But Cain had chosen Aurelius because it would hurt her the most.
Theo’s lips parted once again, a suffocating feeling in her heart. She hated her life. And she blamed Herself for everything.
Every single thing. Maybe this was it. Maybe this was how Lyra had felt. This grief that refused to leave. This grief that weakens, that kills slowly.
"I take...," She burst into tears, "I take you, Cain Pendragon as my... husband,"
