The First Immortal of Destiny-Chapter 505: Demon’s Feast (Part Three)_1
The lamp flame flickered. The souls of the evil cultivator brothers were scorched by the flames, constantly twisting, struggling, and wailing, enduring unbearable torment! Shen Mo’s expression remained cold as ever, with no signs of mercy. In fact, he even felt it wasn’t enough, so he took out a soul-nourishing Elixir, crushed it, and sprinkled it into the lamp oil. With the medicinal support, these two souls wouldn’t disperse easily; they would suffer in the Soul Lamp for a long time. It was a true curse of living yet wishing for death! Given Shen Mo’s character, he would not take pleasure in torturing others... However, the blood crimes committed by these two evil cultivators were incredibly wicked! Directly eliminating them with the Soul-Annihilation Spell or refining them into ignorant Soul Generals using the Soul Refining Flag was too easy for them.
「...」
Among the remnants of the two dead evil cultivators, other than some Spirit Stones and magic artifacts, most were flesh and blood items full of evil air that Shen Mo didn’t even deign to look at, intending to burn them all away. After some consideration, he still kept several demonic artifacts for future use. As for the bodies of the evil cultivators, he simply fed them to the Demon Soul General.
After taking care of this, Shen Mo summoned Flower Fairy Ami with a wave of his sleeve. It was a difficult path Ami had walked. Traveling with Shen Mo, she had witnessed so much worldly grief that she had buried the remains of innocents many times! Just as she emerged from the sleeve, she began to murmur, sprinkling a large mass of bright green light from her hands.
Subsequently, the weeds and ordinary trees in the village began to grow wildly. Their roots rumbled and rolled, carrying the soil, wrapping up all the scattered bones and pulling them into the ground. In the blink of an eye, the death-ridden village littered with white bones was restored to its former green splendor; even the pungent, bloody smell lingering in the air had dispersed.
In Shen Mo’s eyes, the method Ami used seemed like a combination of Wood-type magic and Skill. The burial of remains was merely superficial; more importantly, the lingering resentment and malevolent aura in the world also dissipated with her spell, somewhat similar to what Buddhist cultivators called "liberation"! If it were him, Shen Mo’s only option would be to use the Pure Yang True Fire to burn the entire village; he couldn’t clean it up as neatly as Ami.
"Moro Shen, are you going to attend that heretical banquet?" After finishing her work and seeing Shen Mo handling the human-skin drum and other magic artifacts with disdain, Flower Fairy Ami couldn’t help but ask curiously.
They had heard of the so-called heretical banquet many times since entering the Zhong State region. Nobody knew who had initiated it. However, this news was widely spread in Zhong State and its neighboring major states, inviting evil cultivators, great demons, Heavenly Demons, Outer Zone creatures, and other non-Immortal Path forces to a lavish feast at Golden Light Ridge, near the Capital City of Red Flame Country. There, they would enjoy worldly "fine wine and delicacies" and trade for the cultivation resources they each needed!
After all, aside from Evil Spirits whose nature and motives defied common sense, even Heavenly Demons and other Outer Zone creatures needed external items to strengthen themselves. Heavenly Demons, for instance, craved flesh and blood. Meanwhile, Outer Zone creatures like the Flower Fairies needed rare flowers, exotic herbs, and other spiritual plants.
Heretical Banquet... it sounds grand, "but it’s clearly a Demons’ Banquet!" Shen Mo said coldly. 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮
However, he was indeed interested in taking a look. Evil cultivators, Heavenly Demons, and the like could be disregarded for now; they were all extremely malevolent entities. However, among the Outer Zone creatures that had descended upon this world, from a Human Cultivator’s perspective, perhaps twenty percent were good and another twenty percent were evil. The remaining sixty percent were likely indifferent beings, like the Four-Eyed Giant, who cared little for good or evil, nor for the affairs of the immortal and mortal worlds! Of course, at the dawn of the world’s cataclysmic changes, even if powerful beings from the Outer Zone harbored no malice, their very existence had unintentionally caused immense harm to the native creatures of the Red Flame Zone. It was just like when the Four-Eyed Giant, in its haste, had trampled half of the Near Sea Demonic Cave and nearly killed Shen Mo. Whether it was the Foreign Realm Demons or Shen Mo’s life and death, the Four-Eyed Giant simply didn’t care! Over the past two years, feedback from various sources indicated that most creatures from the forbidden lands and those emerging from the Outer Zone held similar attitudes. They weren’t excessively brutal or bloodthirsty, but they were utterly indifferent to the lives or deaths of this world’s creatures. Some Outer Zone creatures, much like Heavenly Demons, treated other beings as cultivation fodder, or were inherently and exceedingly cruel. Such entities were naturally classified as Demons by Shen Mo and others from the immortal sects—the epitome of evil! Conversely, Outer Zone creatures like the Flower Fairies could be categorized as good from a human perspective. Furthermore, some actively protected mortals and other weak creatures, even striking out to eliminate the fiends and demons that plagued the populace. They were diametrically opposed to the other cruel Outer Zone creatures!
Shen Mo had once asked Miss Mi about this. Her explanation was that some benevolent creatures, like her own Flower Fairy clan, were inherently so. Many more, however, firmly believed that such actions could significantly delay this world’s decay, allowing them to endure longer within this realm—a consideration for their own species’ survival.
Shen Mo understood this. It was akin to how humans in his past life protected other species and ecosystems! It seemed somewhat tragic, yet for the myriad creatures of the Red Flame Zone, it was a blessing in misfortune. Otherwise, the demons and monsters from both within and outside the domain alone would be enough to utterly devastate all mortals and weaker creatures! Therefore, this banquet would inevitably attract not only Demons but also powerful experts dedicated to "Slaying Demons and Eliminating Devils." These would include disciples from immortal sects like himself, as well as benevolent beings from the Outer Zone. At such a momentous gathering, he would have a better chance of finding information about the Chaotic Yuan Fruit and Blessed Lands suitable for Core Formation. Perhaps he could even directly trade for the Chaotic Yuan Fruit at this "Demons’ Banquet." Besides that, Shen Mo also wanted to slay as many Demons as he could.
With these thoughts, Shen Mo cast the Three-Heads Six-Arms True Immortal Technique, changing his physique, appearance, and soul aura to take on a ferocious and evil look. This was the disguise he had used when he, along with Chen Mengze, had destroyed the Liu and Wu families in Sishui City!
Still, it wasn’t enough. His aura was pure and serene; he didn’t look like an evil cultivator at all. He looked more like a fierce man from the Evil Punishing Hall of the Riverside Sect, roaming the world, Slaying Demons and Eliminating Devils everywhere.
Instantly, Shen Mo took out the Soul Refining Flag and waved it. Using the aura from the blood flag, he concealed his own pure Qi. Then, he summoned several Soul Generals—transformed from evil cultivators—and after hastily refining magic artifacts like the human-skin drum, he brazenly strapped them to his waist.
After these changes, Shen Mo had transformed from a radiant disciple of an immortal sect into an evil cultivator, wreathed in bloody light and a sinister aura! The sight made Mi, who was standing nearby, murmur in utter amazement.
"Miss Mi, let’s head towards Golden Light Ridge!" Shen Mo growled, holding open his sleeve for the Flower Fairy to fly in.
Though somewhat repulsed, Flower Fairy Ami still flapped her wings and flew into his sleeve. Afterwards, controlling the Demon Soul General, Shen Mo conjured a turbid, bloody cloud—filthy beyond measure—and flew towards the Capital City of Red Flame Country!
