Chapter 849: Trends - 849

To Zhou Fan, this was a simple matter of waving his hand, yet it affected the entire Universe and all beings living in it. Beings below the Immortal realms considered this the shift of an era. Few had even considered the possibility that this had been done by a single person. After all, no other being could possibly do this.

Would all of the Path Creators sit aside as Ye Li tried to fill the Universe with Karma? What if the God of Death tried to cover everything with the power of Death? Or the fish tried to expand the River of Time to cover the Universe? What about if the Grand Empyrean tried to split everything into Yin and Yang?

Not a single Path Creator would allow this to happen. All of them would gang up on the one who did so, and perhaps a vast war would be sparked.

But the one who had done this was Zhou Fan.

At the mere thought of speaking up, many Path Creators cleared their minds and acted like they hadn’t thought of anything, worried he would read their minds.

The older Path Creators hadn’t even had to suppress the thought, not daring to think of it at all.

Even the newest of Path Creators acted like they hadn’t seen anything.

The two newest Path Creators, who had not heard of or seen Zhou Fan, saw how every Path Creator was quieter than a mouse, and decisively pretended like the Universe had always been filled with Fire Qi.

Zhou Fan was the unsurpassed god of the Universe, and anyone who pit themselves against him would be cut down by other Path Creators. This was not due to loyalty or wanting to curry favor, but out of fear.

What if it angered him and he decided to kill a few Path Creators to relieve his anger? Plenty of Path Creators had seen him eat someone alive.

There was no doubt he was a monster in humanoid skin.

Zhou Fan did not bother to see how others reacted. He watched how the Universe changed and adapted.

He split this into two sections.

How it affected life, and how it affected the Universal order itself.

First, life.

Many species grew and evolved into more fire-like species. He saw an influx of dragons and especially phoenixes. Many more volcanic eruptions occurred. Within a Sage Year, 50% of the sects in the Universe were focused on Fire Qi.

This also affected those who practiced Water Qi, Ice Qi and other related Qi’s.

With Fire Qi cultivators now so much more powerful, they found themselves often countered. Even the natural terrain made it more difficult to fight with these Qi’s.

Within that same Sage Year, the number of Water Qi and Ice Qi cultivators dropped by around 50%, with even more of a change in some areas.

The two biggest sects of such Qi’s had entered a state of deep reclusion, not accepting many disciples or exerting much dominance. This was not their era.

For the first time in history, it seemed that a certain type of Qi was favored by the Universe itself.

Second, the Universal aspect.

The way the Universe grew had changed greatly.

Now, the planets it created were almost exclusively balls of magma with great fire and lava activity. Some cooled down, eventually becoming extremely hot planets, while others remained balls of magma for a long, long time.

It created entire galaxies of fire and heat, not livable for many species. But since species had adapted and evolved to these changes, there was still life in all but the most extreme places.

Unsurprisingly, the human race had not changed. Well, there seemed to be a slight change that allowed it to handle heat better, but that was more of a mental thing, since most beings were now born in hot environments.

Zhou Fan allowed an entire Sage Year to pass like this. Sages had been born and died in this time of the Universe, signifying just how long a Sage Year truly was.

Then, Zhou Fan waved his hand. When he had made the change to favor Fire Qi, it had been slight, but had not drastically changed lives.

It was going from a neutral standpoint to a slightly favoring standpoint.

However, when his hand waved this time, it was like going from one end of the scale to the other.

Instead of Fire Qi, Ice Qi began to be favored.

A Universal shift occurred, affecting the life within the Universe much more than it affected the Universe itself.

The Fire Qi cultivators, who had long been used to supremacy, took the change the hardest. From being the most favored form of cultivators, they were now at a disadvantage in most environments.

And Ice Qi cultivators, who had been suppressed the most, shot to the top. Even Water Qi, Ocean Qi, and other such users who had been suppressed by fire were now in a much better position, though Ice remained the luckiest.

A Sage Year passed, and a similar trend to before was seen.

The number of Ice Qi cultivators soared, while the number of Fire Qi cultivators dipped.

Zhou Fan also saw a retaliatory trend against the once mighty Fire Qi cultivators. After all, they had bullied and suppressed other Qi cultivators, especially the now prominent Ice Qi cultivators, for far too long.

But within a few million years, this trend mostly ended.

The Fire Qi sects closed down and reduced in number. Many closed their gates, waiting until their time came again. Many legends were now passed down, telling stories of a time when all Qi’s were equal.

People spoke of this time like it wasn’t confirmed to be true. But to Path Creators, all of this had happened in a relatively quick span of time. It showed just how long a Sage Year was to the general populace of the Universe. It was a Decillion years. This number was truly unimaginable to many. Even Gods and True Gods couldn’t live that long, not even close.
