Chapter 2331: Chapter 2331: Clinging Maggots, Relentless Pursuit

When the coastline appeared in Carson Flores’s view, he let out a long sigh.

Finally, he made it through the Endless Sea and reached the North Sea.

Carson took a few steps in the air, landed ashore, and flew along the coastline for a while before he finally discovered a city.

Carson entered the city, bought a map, asked around, and finally understood where he was.

According to the original route, he should have been on the Ocean King to arrive at Rice Fragrance City located on the north side of the Golden Trade Route. However, he was now thousands of miles off course, arriving at another inconspicuous small city by the Endless Sea.

Spring River City.

The reason it’s called Spring River City is because there’s a large river called Spring River beside the city, flowing from here into the Endless Sea.

Rice Fragrance City, being on the north side of the Golden Trade Route, serves as one of the three major trade route entrances between the North Sea and Eastern Radiance. It is vast in scale, bustling with a large population, whereas Spring River City, not being on the trade route, has no maritime trade and is merely a small coastal city relying on the sea.

Carson checked the map and thought this location, although quite remote, was very inconspicuous, so he decided to stay here.

Based on Profound River and the others contacting the sect, someone had been captured, allowing the magical treasure used by sect disciples for mutual search and contact to fall into the hands of the attackers. They likely would use it to pursue Profound River and the others, so Carson couldn’t let them leave the Ethereal Pagoda.

Naturally, Carson couldn’t take the three of them to the Azure Divine Sect; that would only invite trouble.

Carson posted a talisman on the hillside outside the city, which was given to Carson by Profound River. According to him, Wuling Mountain senior instructed him to post such a talisman, and they would naturally find him, provided he remains in a seaside city north of the Endless Sea.

If Carson were to run around the world with them, even the sect leader might not be able to find them.

Thus, he could only wait!

Carson didn’t stay in an inn but instead hid directly in a rather luxurious manor, found a secluded and uninhabited room, sat crossed-legged, and applied the Mark of Life and Death on himself to conceal his vital signs.

Carson closed his eyes, looking like a lifeless stone.

He had to be cautious; the pursuer was a Great Land Prime Immortal!

In the previous assault battle, there was fighting everywhere, Domain Power, Spiritual Power surging, magical treasures flying all around, and many masters, allowing Carson to silently approach and then suddenly rescue people. But now, the opponent came at him with full force, and even though his incarnation could die, the Ethereal Pagoda might not escape the enemy’s eyes.

Though the Ethereal Pagoda’s defense was invincible, it required a massive amount of Spiritual Energy to sustain it. Previously, it was hit hard once by a woman in red, causing Carson’s incarnation to cross the Endless Sea, rather than letting the Ethereal Pagoda fly directly.

In previous encounters with powerful enemies, he escaped safely mostly by his incarnation drawing the opponents’ attention, while the Ethereal Pagoda would escape in the momentum or was already safely far away, never truly being targeted.

If the Ethereal Pagoda were truly targeted by a Great Land Prime Immortal and got entangled, it might not be able to escape.

After all, the Ethereal Pagoda is just a Defense Treasure, its power drastically increased by Delarosa, but ultimately depends on Carson’s skills as its operator.

A day later, an elder dressed in white, with silver hair and wearing a mask, walked leisurely into Spring River City with both hands behind his back.

He entered through the East Gate and walked step by step toward the city center. Strangely, even though there were many people on the streets, it seemed they completely couldn’t see this elder. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

The elder’s Divine Sense traveled like radio waves, moving along with his steps, meticulously scanning each inch of the city, every person, even the dogs running around, the chickens pecking at rice, and the birds leaping on trees, none could escape his perception.

The speed of this Divine Sense scan was not fast, so when it approached Carson, he had already detected it.

Carson was startled, his figure flickered, and he had disappeared from the original spot.

Earth Escape!

Carson sank into the ground, descending instantly over a hundred meters. Moreover, his heart stopped beating, blood ceased to flow, and there was no sign of life—just like a stone.

Divine Sense swept over Carson’s original position. Carson instinctively felt it penetrate tens of meters underground, not far from his location, but fortunately, it paused for no moment and continued to advance.

Carson felt greatly shocked; such a meticulous Divine Sense scan could likely only be performed by a Great Land Immortal!

They have arrived!

Carson was astonished—did he leave some clue?

Though Carson could continue to flee using Earth Escape, once he employed Divine Skills, there would be fluctuations in Spiritual Power, possibly triggering the opponent’s detection and getting targeted.

Carson decided to do nothing.

He was just a rock!

As long as the opponent didn’t discover him, they’d eventually leave.

Suddenly Carson felt a stroke of luck; it was fortunate that upon arriving at this city, he had not let them notice...
