The Fallen Spectator-Chapter 22: Entering The Dragon’s Den
The Next Day, I was heading to college with Alina. She was still suspicious of me, but she still followed behind, like an idiot.
’I don’t know what’s going on in her head. She is acting like this, yet following me.’
We were standing at the bus stop waiting for the bus, and Alina’s eyes were fixed on me, making it obvious that she didn’t believe I was normal.
Unfortunately, the way she was doing it would have gotten her in trouble if not for the shadow being so chill about her suspicions. It didn’t care about her behaviour, just being a good brother. Even better than me.
"You know the way you are doing things isn’t right. If you think something is wrong, better try not to be so obvious in front of me." I said to her
"Hmph," she snorted and turned her head away.
Soon the bus arrived, and both of us boarded the bus, while I sat at the window seat as usual, and looked outside.
The sky was clear; the warm sunlight illuminated the glass window. The bus moved on.
"Alina," I said, looking outside from the window. My gaze pierced through the clouds.
"What?" Her voice came.
"What is your true dream?" I asked her.
"Huh!" She seemed a bit confused, with me asking a question out of the blue.
"Don’t you have any dreams for the future. What is the dream you liked the most?" I continued giving a little bit of explanation, but her reply caught me off guard.
"I don’t have any," she said in a grumpy tone.
"Haha..." Hearing her answer, I started laughing lightly, but enough to annoy her more. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
"What are you laughing about?" She
lash out in an angry tone.
"Nothing, it’s just, I have a dream, a dream which your small mind can’t even imagine," I said with a slight laugh, pointing at her head.
She didn’t reply this time, and I also sat silently looking outside at the sky, just the smile had vanished.
Finally, we reached our stop. After that, we went to our classes separately, but I didn’t enter my class. Instead, I headed outside of the college, taking a taxi to the place. Where I lost myself.
’What the hell is this guy actually planning, dealing with the dragon king in their territory without even prior planning. Could it be that I had always underestimated his strength?’ My head had started to fill with doubts.
After half an hour of travel, the taxi stopped in front of an ancient mansion painted white.
When I came out of the taxi, my gaze was locked on this ancient mansion surrounded by guards. Without any hesitation, I just walked in, no fear, no rage, no planning, nothing. It was like taking a casual walk in your garden, but once my step landed in front of the gate, a few guards quickly stood up.
They were walking towards me, but before they reached me, tentacles stretched out from their shadows, dragging them into their own shadow. None of them even got time to escape and just instantly went into the darkness.
Their disappearance wasn’t shocking to me, but this shadow wasn’t killing them, just shifting them into the nightmare realm, though it will leave a deep impact on their life, but still better than losing their life.
This change was completely shocking to me because the shadow mentality seemed to have changed fundamentally. Now, it no longer seemed to be a creature formed from obsession and nightmares. It could also just be my daydreaming, and it may have different plans.
In less than a second, all people in the vicinity vanished in an instant. As I walked in silently, in this lifeless world. Step by step, I slowly entered the mansion. Those who came in my view were dragged into darkness instantly.
After wandering in the mansion for a few minutes, almost all the life in the mansion had been dragged into the nightmare realm. I continued to wander around before I saw two familiar figures.
A green-eyed girl and that red-haired kid called Ray were standing in the backyard, which was, even in itself, like a small forest filled with hundreds of different kinds of beautiful flowers.
"Yo, Guys, long time no see," I said in a loud voice, walking towards them happily like meeting an old friend.
Hearing the new voice, both of them turned towards, and the next instant. I stood above the girl’s shadow, less than a meter away from both of them. Their bodies had almost frozen in place, sweat running down their bodies, but unable to move even an inch.
The black tentacles, just like before, stretched out from the shadows, trying to drag them into the nightmare realm. Unfortunately, these guys weren’t small fish.
As the tentacles tried to drag them. The red-haired kid. Suddenly, let out a roar, cracking the ground where we stood, and broke free from the tentacles coming after me.
The next second, when he was only an inch away from me, the darkness descended on this world, devouring everything.
In the darkness, I drifted with black smoke like a ghost untouchable while the boy was burning in red flames, and the girl, glowing in green light, was untouched by darkness.
The black clouds started to move, forming a huge tornado of darkness, but still not enough to drag them inside. The red-haired kid let out a huge roar, charging straight at the tornado, a red dragon illusionary figure following behind him.
When his body collided with the storm, instead of halting in its motion, the storm just devoured that kid and dragon. The red light was gone completely; nothing could be seen inside the darkness. Now there was only a girl with green eyes.
The storm didn’t go after her, but slowly started to calm down, and two figures came out from it. The red-haired kid who had fallen unconscious, and I, who was dragging him out. My face carried a slight smile, not evil, not kind, just amused.
