The Faceless Billionaire Celebrity Wife-Chapter 88: BOTOT Award Ceremony 1
"I won’t be alone for God’s sake, Ethan. Also, I gave told you the names of the new members yesterday, right? You confirmed yourselves that I don’t need to be wary around them!"
Shikera sighed exasperatedly, her head placed in her hands as she sat on the couch. Who would tell Ethan that he was totally behaving out of character? Cause how would he tell her that she was not allowed to leave the house that night?
"I don’t care," she heard the man’s voice and looked up to him.
Sitting on the sofa opposite her while working on his laptop, Ethan didn’t bother looking at her face before refusing her from leaving the house that night.
Shikera exhaled loudly, "And...I don’t need you to care, Ethan. This is my job and I have to do this, without minding if you want me to or not."
As she expected, he looked up slowly as if to make sure she was the one who just talked.
"It does not matter if you don’t want me to care, and it also doesn’t matter if you really must go out tonight. What matters is that the key is with me and I won’t be releasing it tonight," he scoffed.
Shikera bit down on her lower lip in frustration, wondering how she would get Ethan to give her the key. At this moment, she was already blaming herself for coming home to change before joining the others at the venue of the ceremony.
Her eyes widened as she suddenly placed her hand on her chest, hissing in pain. She clutched at the coat she was wearing as she doubled over in order to enhance her pretence of pain.
"Ethan!"
Ethan looked up from his laptop, surprised at the sudden change of her tone. Seeing her bent over on her knees sent all the nerves of his body in disarray, as he dropped his laptop beside him and hurried to her side.
"Are you feeling pain anywhere, Shikera?"
"My heart...it aches," Shikera whispered, trying hard to conceal her urge to laugh out loud right now.
"Your heart? Will be back in a minute, I’ll just get my car key!" Ethan stood up and hurried to his room to pick his car key and nosemask. Thinking to ask Raymond to go with him, he stopped when he remembered that he might be asleep at this moment.
On getting back to the living room, Ethan failed to find his wife who was having an heart ache just few minutes ago. One look at the sofa he had been sitting on was enough for him to know he had been fooled, big time at that. Chuckling out loud, he walked back to his room to change his clothes.
"Ethan DeLoach," he whispered to himself, "As a good man, should you not honour your friend’s wish? Of course, you should."
When he finished knotting his tie, he glanced in the mirror and picked up his phone from the bedside table.
"Prince Kylian, my assistants are currently asleep so I would appreciate if you send your personal guards down to the entrance. I will be there in a few minutes."
Leaving a voice message for Kyle, he walked out of his room with a smirk on his face. If his wife tried proving that she was wise by tricking him that way, then nothing should stop him from repaying the favour, right?

As Shikera always did whenever she had to attend a ceremony or occasion held in this event centre, she raised her head up to look at the sparkling name sign.
[SPECIAL AWARDS EVENT CENTER]
Could the owner be any more lazy for him or her not to have the time to give the centre a more suitable name? Special awards event centre? What a bland name.
"Kera, let’s get inside so we can get a good spot. The program won’t be starting until thirty minutes later so we should be able to get somewhere vacant in front," Cyprian called out to Shikera, slinging her camera across her shoulder.
She looked back at the rest of their teammates and like a machine, she repeated what she just said while calling their names one by one.
"Atlas, Vicky, Josh, Henry, Kay, Elias, Maja...and Emma."
When she was done with her mini roll call, she led the way through the large revolving doors into the hall.
"Woah!" Shikera explained, and the others felt their jaws drop as they took in the scene before them.
"Rian, are you sure there is still thirty minutes left and not thirty minutes past?" Vicky managed to ask, and the others supported her question with a nod.
"Check your watches," Cyprian replied, as she was also confused herself. Why did the hall look this jam-packed? They had believed that since it wasn’t an entertainment award but a medical award, the population of attendees wouldn’t be surplus. But the crowd in front of them was vehemently disputing that belief of theirs.
"There’s surely no way we can get to the front," Josh whispered.
"What are you saying? There’s no way we would even get a spot at the back. Why the hell did we come late?" Atlas replied, in a whisper too. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Shikera turned to look at her teammates, her temple creased in worry.
"I don’t think we would be able to get any thing on camera for today. Does anyone have any ideas?" she asked, examining their faces one by one.
All of them shook their head except for Maja, one of their new teammates.
"This is making me reject the fact that I don’t have any doctor friends. If any of us has one that is present here, why don’t we get the person to make a video for us? Even if it won’t be top quality or be the best, it’s still better that having nothing at all to present to Team leader Zuresh."
A collective sigh emanated from the group immediately Maja was done. Vicky patted her shoulders, "Good idea, Maja. But if every kind of doctor was allowed in this place, then do you think this hall would be enough to house them? Only invited doctors and influential personalities are allowed to attend, apart from reporters."
"Woah! I didn’t know that since I have only heard about it, and never seen."
"It’s alright, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Even among the invited doctors, there’s a kind of hierarchy in which the doctors seating arrangement is based on a kind of segregation. I don’t know much but there’s a VIP and VVIP section. The best seats are those of the nominees, from where you can see the whole hall and the podium at a very close range." It was Cyprian who answered this time.
As she listened to them talk, Shikera tilted her head as she thought of something. She knew two doctors who were very likely to be here, and that was Krystal and Leonard. If anything, they should at least be at the VIP section.
"Excuse me guys, I will be back in a while."
She hurriedly excused herself and hurried out the hall to the front desk.
"Do the guests sign an attendance list before entering?" She asked the receptionist, a young lady who was wearing a permanent smile on her face.
"Yes, Miss. Do you need to sign one?"
"No, could you help me check if Doctor Krystal Alexander is present?"
"She is."
"But you didn’t bother checking the list first?" Shikera frowned at the receptionist, thinking the woman was trying to dismiss her.
"That’s true. I didn’t forget since she is one of the nominees."
At the receptionist’s words, Shikera almost slumped in happiness. She hurried thanked the woman and rushed towards the elevator. She needed to find her doctor as soon as possible.
