The Faceless Billionaire Celebrity Wife-Chapter 285: King Of Persuasion
Shikera looked up.
"Tomorrow? But Grandma Cooper is still sick. I can’t just leave her alone when there’s no one to take care of her. And also, I made a few friends I have to say goodbye to," she said.
"Is that good friend Alan?" Ethan asked.
Shikera raised her brows, a mischievous twinkle in her chocolate brown eyes.
"What if it is? But don’t worry, Husband, the friend I’m talking about is Jodi," she replied.
"That’s alright. You can still say goodbye to her tomorrow before we leave and about Mrs Cooper, she agreed to stay in the hospital."
Shikera was shocked.
"Grandma Cooper agreed to do what?" she exclaimed.
"Get herself admitted," Ethan stated.
"Wow! How did you do it? I tried to persuade her for so long but she disagreed. Tell me how." Shikera stared earnestly at Ethan as she waited for his explanation, only for him to give her a one word answer.
"You."
"Uh?"
Ethan nodded. "She asked first if you were willing to follow me back, and I told her yes. Then she asked if there was anything stopping us from leaving immediately so I told her she’s the one, and she agreed to go to the hospital."
"As easily as that?" Shikera blinked in disbelief.
"Yeah. I asked her to come with us but she refused, saying another granddaughter might come to find her. I hired a private nurse on her behalf though," Ethan replied. He kissed Shikera on her forehead and walked past her to sit on the bed.
"It will be a long day tomorrow. Why don’t you get some sleep?" he said.
Shikera shook her head in answer.
"You didn’t tell me why you said I am the reason she agreed," she said.
"She didn’t say anything either," Ethan shrugged. "Just something about how she wants you to spend as much time as you can with me, to see if you’ll change your mind about something. Just a bunch of inexplicable stuffs actually, so I figured she’s doing this because of you."
Shikera understood immediately what Grandma Cooper had been trying to tell Ethan, and she sighed. Everyone around her seemed to show their reluctance in letting her keep her pregnancy, one way or the other.
"You don’t have to think much about it," she assured Ethan. "Let’s go to sleep. Today has been a long day and apart from that, I have to wake up early tomorrow so I can pack up and say my goodbyes."
She jumped into bed even though she was fully dressed, snuggling into her favorite position on his chest.

"We aren’t friends! You got yourself a handsome man as husband and now, you came to say goodbye?"
Shikera pressed her lips together to stop herself from laughing out loud at Jodi’s angry expression. The girl had a natural doll like face which was enhanced when she pouted, and that was unexpectedly cracking Shikera up at the moment.
"You won’t apologize and will just stare at my face?" Jodi’s voice broke into her thoughts.
"I’m sorry..." Shikera faked a sad expression. "You don’t think I want to leave you, right? But I still have to leave because I have a whole lot of things to do in the city."
Jodi kept quiet and Shikera could see the girl was really sad. She could not bear to imagine what would have happened if she hadn’t come to say goodbye to her.
"Jodi, don’t be sad. You won’t even bother listening to what I have to say?"
"And what is that? If it can change the fact that you’re leaving, say it," Jodi asked immediately, startling Shikera.
Shikera had only mentioned that she had something to say because she wanted to lift Jodi’s mood, but she really didn’t prepare to say anything. However, since Jodi was now asking, she knew she had to think of something sensible to say.
With that, she looked around and saw Raymond and Ethan standing just a little distance away from them.
"Give me a minute, Jodi," she excused herself and went to join the two men.
"Do you have your card with you, Ethan?" she asked.
"Black?"
"Business," Shikera replied. Seeing Ethan shake his head, she turned to Raymond and repeated her request.
"I think I should have one or two in my pocket. Ethan doesn’t always have a reason to offer his business card, you know," Raymond explained, digging his hand into his pocket to retrieve two cards.
Shikera beamed; that was just what she needed.
"Thanks," she muttered her appreciation. Walking back to meet Jodi where she was standing right in front of her house, Shikera switched her expression to that of a sad person. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"Here," she offered her the two cards. Noticing the confusion in Jodi’s gaze, Shikera continued, "You wanted to be an actress, didn’t you? When you’re done with high school and have decided to come to the city, you should visit this address on the card and request to see the person on it too."
Jodi frowned as she read both the name of the person and the corporation on the card.
"Is this fake?" she questioned.
"It’s not. That’s... Don’t worry about it. Whenever you decide to come to the city, don’t forget to visit this address. I will also come here once in a while so don’t worry, you won’t miss me," Shikera concluded. She could finally wear a light smile as it seemed like Jodi’s mood had returned back to normal.
"Why can’t you give me your own card though?"
"Because...I just felt like giving this to you. And besides, you still have a year left before leaving high school, right? We never know what can happen between now and then."
Jodi nodded. Even though she felt the explanation was kind of strange, she didn’t stress much over it.
Shikera added, "I have to leave now, Jo. You have my number so you can call me anytime. I promise I won’t get annoyed. Give Alan one of the cards too. I know he’s going to refuse if I give him myself."
"Alright," Jodi stated. "Goodbye and thanks for... seeing me as a little sister."
