The Faceless Billionaire Celebrity Wife-Chapter 188: Unwanted Guests.
"Yeah..." She trailed off, feeling her heart sinking in guilt.
"Let me get this right. You have been ignoring me for a while now and also spoke with this Maxwell for twenty minutes just so I can hear this? That you don’t want a baby?" Raymond asked again.
"Yes," Cyprian replied.
Raymond sighed out loud, running his hand through his hair.
"Why all this drama just to tell me you don’t want a baby? The same day I said I want a baby, you could have told me then and all this would have been forgotten."
"I...I thought you might want to break up with me because—"
"Break up with you because you don’t want a baby?! And then do what, stay alone and celibate for my whole life. I won’t have a baby with any other woman except you, Rian, so just know that you are stuck with me for life," Raymond declared, a smile which was opposing the firm tone he talked with, spread brightly on his face. He could not measure how relieved he was right now.
He had been very occupied and busy these past few days that he did not check up on Cyprian much. What if she got tired of him and decided to find someone who could spend more time with her? Or if she decided he was not exciting enough for a woman like her?
"You are alright with me not liking babies?" Cyprian asked in disbelief.
"Yes. Same way you were alright with me liking babies. I don’t get to have every single thing I love or want; but I will make sure to hold onto the one I get," Raymond replied.
Tears welling up in her eyes, Cyprian closed the distance between them and threw herself in his arms, hugging him tightly.
"Thank you, Ray," she whispered.
Raymond hugged her back, bending his head slightly to whisper in her ears,"I will make out time to visit tomorrow. If I arrive early, we can go on a date but if not, we can just cook and eat at home."
"I will wait," Cyprian replied, a wry smile on her lips.

Shikera alighted from the car while using her hands to smoothen her hair. She walked straight to her car before remembering that her bag, phone, and car key were still in the villa.
Then she turned back to walk to the villa without waiting for Ethan who was still in the car. What was he still doing anyway?
She opened the door as quietly as she could so as not to alert Esther, if she happened to be in the living room. Her belongings were supposed to be in the threshold anyway, so it shouldn’t take much time to pick it up.
She crept forward and picked up the bag and key, while hoping inwardly that her phone was still intact after the fall.
’He will pay for the phone if there is even the least bit crack on the screen!’ she swore in her mind.
The card was also on the floor so she picked it up, and that was when she heard the door open behind her. It was Ethan, whose appearance was even more unruly than it was in the afternoon. His shirt was completely unbuttoned, revealing his toned abs underneath and causing Shikera to gulp at the sight.
"Your card," she said, extending the card to him.
"Thank you," he replied in a sing- song manner, before collecting the card.
’He doesn’t sound like he needs me to explain that I did not take the card. Do I still have to?’ Shikera wondered.
She watched Ethan walk past her into the living room before deciding that she had to explain. That was why she came here after all.
But Ethan beat her to it as he asked,"Why are you standing there like an unwanted guest?"
Shikera looked down to assess herself, as if to check if she looked like an unwanted guest, before replying him,"I guess I am a wanted guest then."
Ethan shook his head. "That’s not the point I’m trying to make. You are family, so wanted or unwanted should be the question here."
Shikera scoffed,"So you mean I’m an unwanted family member?!"
"When did I say that?"
"Just...Forget it, I came here to tell you that I don’t know how your black card came into my possession. I didn’t take it, and there’s no reason for me to. Goodnight," she turned to leave, when his voice halted her footsteps.
"Is that the way to your room?"
"I’m not staying, Ethan," she answered without turning.
"Then, you are forgetting that even if you end up not being Liam Anderson’s daughter, you are still Ethan DeLoach’s wife."
"That’s—"
"And that means I can treat you as an ordinary person, right? Now, I don’t believe you don’t know how my card came into your possession. The most plausible explanation here is that you took it," Ethan stated.
"What?! You really think I stole your card?" Shikera exclaimed, raising her voice without minding if Esther would hear her or not. She turned to face him this time around and didn’t know when she closed the distance between them to stand before him in the living room.
"Yes, as long as you are continue to behave like a stranger," Ethan deadpanned.
"Alright then," Shikera sighed."You can think whatever you like. I’ll just leave."
"And do I look like someone who just thinks without any action? If you stole my card then you should be punished, no?" he asked.
"That’s right but I did not steal it. No...I did not take it!" Shikera defended herself, frowning at the nonchalant expression Ethan was wearing. Like he did not mind even if she hated him for accusing her like this.
"Then explain how it got to you."
Shikera fell silent. She could not explain how at all, but she was still sure she did not take it.
Ethan continued,"I will take it that you are speechless because you have no evidence that you did not take it. That leaves me to mete out your punishment, right?"
’He can’t do anything that extreme to me so it should be alright if I say yes,’ Shikera thought, before nodding.
"Good that you agree. You look familiar, just like my wife who left home a few days ago, so I will be lenient with you. You just have to stay here, in this villa, for a week," he declared.
"What?! Ask me to do anything else and I will gladly do it. Don’t just tell me to stay here in the villa like—"
He interrupted her, an evil smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.
"You are not ’just’ staying in the villa. You will work, help me with some things that I can’t do alone. Just that...you shouldn’t tell me wife you helped me," he chuckled.
Shikera could sense his words had an underlying meaning, but she could not make out what it was. Therefore, she reverted to thinking of what she could help Ethan with.
"Is there another option? Maybe I can pay you or...?" she requested.
"My answer to that will be a big no! Come with me," he ordered, turning to walk towards the stairway.
Shikera inhaled deeply, before deciding to follow after him. She would just call Skyler later and tell her she would be back in a week’s time. A week was just seven days so she was sure the days would pass pretty soon and she would be out of this place before anyone realized.
She walked up the stairs behind him and when they got to the door of her room, made to push open the door when Ethan stopped her.
"That’s my wife’s room. You won’t be staying there." He grabbed her hand and pulled her to his own room.
"You stay here," he stated.
Shikera looked around in surprise, trying to imagine how her days would be living in this room. It...kind of looked like something to anticipate.
"How do I get clothes?" Shikera asked.
Ethan shrugged. "You aren’t the only one who has a closet. I have many shirts and clothes you can choose from...plus you won’t be leaving this house so you can actually walk around naked if you want. I just have to delete some people’s info from the door scanner," he replied.
Shikera did not reply him, concluding in her mind that she could just go to her room if she needed clothes. Anyways, Ethan did not say she could not leave his room on her own accord.
"I’ll go prepare dinner," Ethan said.
Shikera’s ears perked up at that. "Can I join you? I will just stay in a corner and watch you," she pleaded, her brown eyes blinking earnestly.
"No, you can’t...will you stay back in the room if I give that answer? Do whatever you want, Shikera."
He walked to his closet and emerged with a white t-shirt, before stepping out of the room while leaving her behind.
