The moon was up high in the sky, bathing the world below with its subtle glow.

Lina dropped the last plate of food on the table before sitting down, joining the rest of the family.

Marla smiled. "Alright, let's eat."

Arin smiled lightly as he stared at the food.

Lina was the one who cooked this time, so at least, even though he wouldn't be able to taste the food, he would be able to manage and force himself easier than when Marla cooked.

Godric had a wide smile on his face as he instantly started eating. "Haha! Finally, I can enjoy a proper meal without complaining."

"You know, Marla, I've always wondered why Lina's food always tastes better even though she learned how to cook from you," he added.

Marla hit Godric's arm with a frown on her face. "Enough... I've told you that I'll try to improve my cooking skills."

Their banter continued for the rest of the meal before they all finally finished eating, and Arin helped Lina clear the table.

After a light discussion between all of them, they all went to their rooms to have a proper rest, anticipating the next day.

Well, Arin was still awake in his room.

It was time to continue hardening his Blood Energy so that he would properly learn the Blood Armour Skill.

After dropping the bracelet on the floor, Roxanne appeared.

"Greetings, Master," she said.

Arin nodded his head as he watched her walk toward the window to start another session of staring outside.

With that, Arin sat down in a lotus position and closed his eyes, concentrating fully.

He had already hardened the Blood Energy in his right arm, so it was time to focus on his left arm.

Just like he did with his right arm, he began the process.

A few hours later...

"Ugh..." Arin groaned, feeling a sharp pain.

This time, he wasn't surprised because he already knew what was going on.

He opened his eyes and stared at his left arm, and as expected, his left arm was covered with a red metallic coating with spikes protruding from it, exactly the same thing that happened to his right arm.

This meant that he had successfully completed the Blood Armour Skill on his left arm.

He glanced at the window and noticed that Roxanne was still there, though she wasn't staring outside—she was staring at him.

"Uhm... I heard you groan, so I was wondering..." she muttered.

"Don't worry, I'm fine," Arin said with a small smile.

Roxanne nodded her head. "The Blood Armour Skill usually takes a bit of time to be completely learned."

"Just the one for the Progenitors," she added. "The Blood Armour Skill for normal Vampires like me doesn't take much time."

"I see..." Arin muttered. "Liora must have told you that."

Roxanne nodded her head in response.

Arin then closed his eyes, getting back to work while Roxanne continued looking outside.

She could keep looking outside all night... It was just something she loved doing.

Arin even felt that maybe it calmed her.

'Well, let's continue hardening Blood Energy...'

**********

The night quickly passed, and it was now daytime once again.

The sun was up high in the sky, and the voices of passersby filled the air.

Arin sighed as he got up from the floor. He had been practicing the entire night, and he was now able to form the Blood Armour from his feet up to his waist, including his arms.

"It's just my chest and back left," Arin muttered. "With my neck to maybe my head."

His practice was worth it, and now, he was almost done.

He wore the bracelet and exited the room. He was met with Godric and Marla, who were both seated in the parlor while Lina was in the kitchen.

He greeted them with a smile while giving Edwin a side glare. 'I'm still considering giving him a good beating before I leave for the Academy.'

Marla stared at Arin while caressing his hair. "Someone from the Academy came this morning to deliver a message."

Arin raised a brow. "What was the message?"

He already had an idea of what it would be, but he just wanted to confirm.

"All students are expected to resume tomorrow," Godric said.

"I knew the holiday wouldn't be long," Arin said as they all stood up and walked toward the table where Lina had just dropped the food.

They talked about the resumption throughout the duration of the meal before Godric and Marla went out, leaving Edwin for Lina.

Just like yesterday, the two of them went out for a walk, leaving only Arin in the house.

Arin used the opportunity to continue practicing the Blood Armour Skill.

By the time Lina and Edwin returned, Arin had only covered a small part of his chest with the Blood Armour Skill.

"Tch..." He clicked his tongue, slightly annoyed. "For some reason, hardening my Blood Energy in my chest area is harder."

He decided not to dwell on it too much. Though it was harder, at least it was still working.

After having dinner with the rest of the family, they all went to their rooms, and Arin continued the process.

When morning arrived, he had already covered half of his chest with the Blood Armour Skill.

Like yesterday, it was still slow, but he just had to manage like that. Not everything came easily.

Arin stared outside, the rays of the sun entering his room.

It was time to go.

***********

Marla was on the verge of crying as she hugged both Arin and Lina.

"Oh, my beautiful children. I'll miss both of you."

Godric walked closer and wrapped his arms around them. "I'll miss both of you."

"I... I'll miss you too, Mum, Dad," Lina sobbed.

Arin also said the same thing, making his voice intentionally low so that he would sound somewhat sad.

"Take care of yourselves, okay?" Marla said, handing both of them a bag each.

Inside the bags were clothes, blankets, and a few other items.

Godric also handed them a pouch each that contained potions.

He looked at both of them. "Remember, be of good behavior."

They both nodded their heads.

Edwin also hugged Lina with teary eyes. He had become closer to Lina, mostly because they had spent time together these past few days.

He glared at Arin with one brow raised. "We'll have that battle when we return... Prepare yourself to get beaten, you hear me?"

Arin's brows twitched, trying to contain his anger as he faked a smile. 'I wasn't able to give him a beating this time...'

'But when we meet again, I'll definitely give him a good slap,' Arin thought.

After a lot of hugging from Marla, Lina and Arin finally entered Greenbrow's carriage.

"They'll be fine," Greenbrow said, smiling at Marla.

Marla just nodded her head as she and Godric waved at them as the carriage moved.

They finally arrived at the gate, where some other students were already gathered.

Greenbrow hugged his niece and nephew one more time before he left.

Arin and Lina then joined the other students.

In a few minutes, two levitating carriages arrived. Some students were already inside these carriages—students that were carried along the way.

Arin, Lina, and the other students all entered the carriages before they continued moving, heading toward the Kingdom.

Just like when they were coming, they passed through a few cities, picking some students up before they finally arrived in Starshine City.

In a few more minutes, they arrived in the forest before reaching the gate of the Academy and entering inside.

"Ah, we're back, huh?"

"Doesn't feel quite good..."

"I already miss my little sister."

The students were chatting in the carriages as they headed toward the dorm building.

'Hmm, my family is insane, but it was still quite enjoyable,' Arin thought.

At least he was able to let off some steam and clear his head a bit in the house.

'I didn't get to tell Edith goodbye, but well...'

The male and female dorm buildings were already back to the way they were before the battle.

And because of that, once the students exited the carriage, they instantly went to their rooms. After all, the pattern of the building hadn't changed, so their rooms still remained their rooms.

Most of the students went home without carrying anything, but now, Arin noticed that everyone was holding bags just like him.

Most of them were filled with clothes and other things.

Arin quickly climbed the stairs and entered his room before shutting the door.

He began removing the clothes from the bag and arranging them in his drawer. A suit was even among the clothes.

When he was done, he sat down on the bed, remembering what the teacher told them immediately after they arrived.

"Everyone should gather in the hall, huh?" Arin muttered. "Bro wants to give another speech..."

Though, Arin also knew that it was related to the upcoming tournament. After all, Riya mentioned that the competition to choose the four Mages who would represent the Academy would take place a day after the students arrived back.

"Well, I might as well participate... Or shouldn't I?"
