Chapter 1135: The Demon: Desmon and Alyana

Boom!! Boom!!

The ground trembled without pause as waves of elemental power rained down. The ocean roared in fury, crashing into ports all around the planet. Violent energy surged outward, annihilating everything in its path.

This was the current state of one of the planets under the rule of the Astros Empire.

Alice was locked in battle with the council’s forces—a scale of destruction the people of the Astros Empire had never witnessed before.

It felt as though the entire planet was on the verge of collapse.

The council’s overwhelming power pressed down on everything.

Boom!!

Alice hovered in the air, wiping the blood from the corner of her mouth.

’I’m lucky the others didn’t have to face this guy... but also unlucky that I’m the one who did,’ Alice thought grimly.

Hovering above her was a tall, blonde man—Desmon, Captain of the Silver Falcon Group. He was well-known throughout the Council of High Worlds for his extraordinary power and skill.

"You’re strong, but you’re still beneath my level," Desmon said plainly.

"I can tell you haven’t reached the Seventh Shackle yet. If you had fought the others instead, you might’ve won."

His tone wasn’t mocking—he simply stated what he believed, acknowledging her strength based on their earlier exchange.

"Surrender this planet to us," he added.

Alice took a deep breath.

"No."

Desmon closed his eyes. A moment later, he opened them and a massive wave of energy erupted from his body.

"I hope you won’t regret that."

Without another word, Desmon shot toward her like a missile.

Alice summoned a spear into her hand and braced herself for another brutal clash.

Whoosh!!

The two collided in midair.

...

Meanwhile, Amanda, Lydia, and the rest of the Astros Empire’s soldiers endured a relentless assault from Desmon’s subordinates.

The Silver Falcon Group was powerful and highly coordinated. Their reputation within the Council of High Worlds was well-earned—they were battle-hardened elites with hundreds of combat experiences, many of which were against opponents stronger than themselves.

Alice had hoped to occupy the majority of the enemy forces on her own, but Desmon alone was proving to be a serious challenge.

With no other choice, the soldiers of the Astros Empire fought back with everything they had.

"More people will die at this rate! Retreat!" Amanda shouted to Lydia.

"Tell some of them to fall back while others provide aerial support!"

Lydia gave a quick nod and turned to issue orders to her subordinates.

The ships in the sky unleashed powerful energy beams that tore through the landscape—but the members of the Silver Falcon Group easily deflected the attacks.

There were fewer than thirty members of the Silver Falcon Group, while the Astros Empire had over ten thousand soldiers. The disparity in numbers was massive. However, the Silver Falcon Group possessed overwhelming strength, while most of the Astros soldiers were merely above average.

Suddenly, a massive arrow of fire erupted from the sky and struck one of the ships. The hull exploded violently, sending the ship plummeting to the ground.

Boom!!

Amanda narrowed her eyes. Gripping her soul weapon tightly, she charged toward the enemy.

’This is bad. At this rate... we’re going to be wiped out,’ she thought grimly.

They had to retreat.

Bang!!

Amanda was suddenly intercepted by three enemies. Their combined attack blasted her through the air, sending her crashing into one of the ships.

But she immediately rose to her feet, eyes locked onto the three experts who had struck her. Without hesitation, she took to the sky once more and activated her abilities.

[Element Drive] and [Dream Power] erupted from her body. Darkness and light surged around her as she launched herself toward her opponents with blinding speed.

Boom!!

Meanwhile, Lydia’s face was etched with concern. Her people were dying one by one, and she felt powerless to stop it.

The enemies were far stronger than her. Even the weakest member of the Silver Falcon Group was at the One Shackle Realm—a level above anyone among the empire’s soldiers.

Explosions echoed across the battlefield as the ships continued to fall one after another.

Lydia gritted her teeth, her eyes fixed on the horrific scene unfolding before her. The screams of her people filled the air—agonizing, desperate—but there was nothing she could do.

She was powerless.

Boom!!

A flaming arrow struck the ground beside her and exploded. The force sent her body hurtling several meters through the air.

...

Up in the sky, Desmon hovered with a mocking grin on his face.

"See? You people will be defeated," he said coldly.

Alice remained silent. She knew the truth. Fighting against these opponents was difficult, and their chances of victory were growing slimmer by the second.

Moreover...

She turned her head and glanced into the distance.

A woman stood there, silently observing the battlefield with a calm, unreadable expression. Her name was Alyana, the second-in-command of the Silver Falcon Group.

Like Desmon, Alyana was a powerful expert—possibly just as dangerous.

If that woman decides to join the fight... Alice didn’t need to finish the thought. She already imagined the worst-case scenario.

Amanda, Lydia, and the rest wouldn’t stand a chance against power of that scale.

Alice gripped her spear tightly. Its glow intensified as energy surged through it.

She had to go all out.

Whoosh!!

"Come!" Desmon laughed, his eyes gleaming with excitement.

Boom!!

Alice and Desmon collided at incredible speed in the sky. Wielding the universal-grade weapon, [Rhongomiant], Alice unleashed her Archetype, pouring its full force into a surprise assault aimed at turning the tide.

[Golden Spear: Legend of Victory]!!

Desmon narrowed his eyes, a chill running down his spine. He looked up and saw it.

A brilliant golden light radiated from above.

Ohm!!

The golden glow burst forth, illuminating the entire sky like a second sun. Whether ally or enemy, everyone below was blinded by the overwhelming radiance.

The oppressive energy in the air reached its peak.

Even Alyana—until now calm and composed—finally reacted. Her brows knit together as she sensed the descent of the colossal golden spear from above.

"This power... It’s not normal," she muttered, retreating instinctively. A moment later, she turned and flew away without hesitation.

Whoosh!!

The majestic golden spear slammed into the ground with a thunderous crash, releasing a shockwave that rippled through the atmosphere. The air itself vibrated under the force of the impact, and a blinding surge of energy swept across the battlefield.

It was breathtaking, beautiful and terrifying at once.

The massive spear looked as though it had pierced the very heart of the continent. Even from space, one could see its radiant form embedded in the planet’s surface.

For many, it felt like a dream.

They had never witnessed anything like this before.

Boom!!

Everyone was swept away by the overwhelming shockwave.

...

In the sky, the air crackled with violent energy. Alice hovered above the devastation, breathing heavily as she gripped her spear tightly.

"I never expected an Archetype to cause this much damage to the planet... it’s even affecting my comrades," she muttered.

She hadn’t anticipated such widespread destruction. But if she held back now, it would only increase their chances of defeat.

Her perception cut through the thick smoke below, surveying the scorched land. A massive gully had opened in the earth, its depths unknown.

Her eyes narrowed.

"He’s still alive..." she said, brows furrowing in frustration.

Deep within the gully, Desmon lay submerged in magma. He could feel the searing heat around him—but to someone like him, it was nothing.

"Strong... I can’t believe a skill like that exists."

Desmon glanced down at his body. Despite his resilience, he had sustained injuries. That last attack had pierced through his defenses and dealt significant damage—even to his reinforced, battle-hardened flesh. An attack of that scale would have completely wiped out most groups.

He knew it—and it made him reflect on the intentions of the one who had sent him here.

"I got careless... Luckily, I’m strong enough to survive it."

Looking up, Desmon propelled himself out of the magma at high speed.

The ground trembled violently as he burst from the depths of the gully, molten rock cascading around him.

He took a quick look around and thought to himself, ’Alyana’s gone... Seems like she’s moving to clean things up.’

...

Whoosh!!

The entire ground was swept clean by the shockwave.

Amanda slowly pushed herself to her feet, glancing around. Everything was cloaked in thick smoke.

"Alice isn’t holding back... That means the enemy is that strong."

She could sense others beginning to stir. The scale of Alice’s battle had affected everything—and everyone—nearby.

Amanda dashed across the ruined landscape and found several ships that had crashed to the ground. There were survivors. But this only confirmed one thing: many of the enemies—those far stronger than them—had also survived.

Ohm!!

A wave of energy pulsed through the air.

Amanda snapped her head in its direction, instantly alert. She circulated her energy and sprinted toward the source.

Suddenly, a hand reached out from the smoke.

She reacted a moment too late.

The figure grabbed her neck with crushing force.

"Ugh!!"

Amanda turned her head and saw a woman standing before her—one hand gripping her neck, the other holding Lydia in the same crushing grasp.

It was Alyana, second-in-command of the Silver Falcon Group.

"You two are the strongest among your group besides the woman fighting the Captain," Alyana said coldly.

"It’s time to clean up the rest of you and claim this planet. Accept it. You can’t win against us. The Council of High Worlds is far greater than you can imagine."

Amanda and Lydia struggled to breathe. Alyana’s grip was like iron, slowly cutting off their air. They couldn’t speak. Couldn’t even gasp.

"You think you’re strong?" Alyana continued, her voice calm and chilling.

"There are many in the Council far stronger than us. You’re nothing in comparison."

Amanda and Lydia tried to fight back, summoning every ounce of strength they had—but it was useless. No matter how hard they resisted, Alyana’s hold didn’t budge.

The difference in their power was overwhelming.

And they could feel it.

Their lives hung in Alyana’s hands.
