The Editor Is An Extra-Chapter 115: Mid terms 10
**A few hours earlier, back at the stadium**
"Hahahahaha!" Instructor Lee erupted in a wild unrestrained laughter.
"Lower your volume, will you?" Instructor Summers chided, but instructor Lee couldn’t stop, if anything, his laughter became worse.
"I can’t help it, the face your making... just keeps making me laugh." He said between laughs. A few minutes ago, they had witnessed Damon taking the eggs from the hill atop the back of the massive crocodile like beast, and then left, with even the top two first years not being capable of stopping him.
"Besides, I like that kid, he has quite the like for flair, like I was back in the day." instructor Lee continued. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
"Like you?" Instructor Black turned to him. "I’d say he’s more like his father was back in the day." he said. "Just an order of magnitude less cold, but both have the same habit for flair and theatrics it seems." The moustached man chuckled.
"Really?" Instructor Summers raised a brow. "The mad emperor was like that?" she asked. She found it had to believe. She had met the Darkfell emperor after all, even if it was just more of a passing glance. The cold and dread he radiated instantly made her instinctively bow down her head.
"Hard to believe huh?" Instructor Black chuckled once more.
"Still, it doesn’t justify being unscrupulous." Instructor Summers retorted sharply. "They fought the thing, and waited for it to exhaust itself, just for him to swoop in and take everything. The least he could have done is leave them a few."
"Hahahahaha! Someone is furious about the loss their protegé encountered." Instructor Lee laughed wildly once more. "But that is part of the theme of the egg challenge phase. One can take or snatch the eggs as long as they have the ability to do so, isn’t that right Edmond?" he turned to the moustached instructor.
"Right." he turned to Liz. "You’re just a bit bias because of your student, but to be fair even I would be a bit beefed if it happened to my student, hahahaha!" he joined instructor Lee in the laughing club.
"Tch." Instructor Summer’s lips twitched, but she didn’t comment. Time continued to pass, and only students with the most amounts of eggs were being followed, so everyone in the stadium had a front row seat to everything Damon was doing.
But still, the massive crystal hovering above the stadium couldn’t completely document all of Damon’s movements, after all, it was linked to the students wristband, and the wristbands on Damon’s reflections were just for decoration.
Still, the instructors noticed something strange. One moment, the image showing Damon would be in one place, and the next, the image would flicker, showing him at an entirely different place.
"He can move his actual body within those clones of his, can’t he?" Instructor Lee muttered, brows furrowed.
"So it would seem." instructor Black’s eyes shone slightly. If they couldn’t figure out that much, they wouldn’t fit to be instructors in the Astral Mystic Institute. And to be honest, not only them, most of the students in the stands, had also figured out such, except for Emmett, who already knew.
But it wasn’t like Damon was going to continue hiding it. He was going to have to show it at the tournament anyway.
More time passed, with the frame featuring Damon sometimes changing. He would suddenly appear where there were eggs, and put them away.
Until he appeared in a stone room, then flickered towards a bunch of eggs, the highest number seen so far. Like before, he continued collecting them as fast as he could, but before he could finish taking them all, Rose appeared next to him, her sword falling towards the the hand he was extending towards an egg.
Damon retrieved his hand at the last moment, but he wasn’t completely out of danger, as Rose twisted her sword, and followed up with a strike to his head, giving him no choice but to flicker backwards.
The scenario between Rose and Damon played out, until the point where Damon shattered in an epic display, leaving Rose staring at the place he had been.

At the seating area of the third years, the silver haired beauty next to Emmett turned to him. "Is that the same brother you called incompetent?" she asked.
Emmett merely smiled. "Phrasing, dear Silvie, I believed I used the word disappointment."
"I’d say he’s not much of a disappointment as you said then, he seems to have bested his sister after all."
"I wouldn’t say bested, more like tricked. In a fight between those two, there’s no chance in a million that my disappointment of a brother would come out on top." Emmett said.

Meanwhile, standing within a mushroom grotto befitting of a fantasy world, "Hahahaha?" I keeled over, laughing wildly. It took me a full minute before I managed to compose myself. "Too bad I couldn’t see her face afterwards." I muttered. "That would have been most satisfying."
Anyway, with the eighteen eggs I had just obtained, that brought my total number of eggs to sixty- nine. I was sure that by now, I was ahead of everyone else with at least thirty eggs or so.
But still, I couldn’t afford to get lax. With the luck of those main characters, who knew when they’d suddenly stumble upon somewhere that was never mentioned in the novel.
Anyway, back to the place I was in. "Now, that arrogant piece of shit should be in here somewhere." I said throwing a glance around. In the novel, Fabian spent three fourth of his time in this grotto. But with mushroom canopies as tall as trees, I’d have a hard time finding him.
Fabian’s fight with Alistair in the tournament would be one of the key factors to his character development. And while I’d have loved to be the one to discipline him myself, I had too much on my plate right now, so I wasn’t hoping I’d have a match fixed with him.
Those I was hoping to have a match with, were Anastasia, Alistair, and most especially, Rose. Delilah was not worth mentioning, I wouldn’t even need a reflection to beat her ass, and such was the case for Fabian.
Though, Fabian was exceedingly much more dangerous, I’d have to make sure I didn’t come in contact with his skin, which was nigh impossible. So scratch that, I would definitely need at least one reflection to act as a decoy.
While I didn’t want to fight him in the tournament, I would be glad to annoy him a little. So, I set myself into the process of finding him.
But just a minute into my crusade, I shifted slightly on my feet, and caught one of the three projectiles aimed at me, between my fingers, while simultaneously dodging the remaining two.
"Tsk." I clicked my tongue. Now, who was brave enough, or rather stupid enough to attack a young man as magnificent as myself?
I looked at the projectile between my fingers. It was long, stiff, and needle like. The base was ticker, while the tip narrowed to a sharp point. It’s surface was smooth, almost glossy, and it was colored a rich brown color.
It was somewhat like... "A porcupine’s quill?" I muttered. We did have a kid in our class with that certain ability, but I had kind of forgotten her name.
"Oi, porcupine girl!" I yelled, giving her a nickname, while looking around. "I know it’s you, come out before I come find you myself."
The answer I got were a dozen more quills sent flying towards me. "Guess we’ll have to do this the hard way then." I muttered, as I evaded each with minimal movements.
--------------
After Damon so graciously took the eggs Anastasia, Alistair, and Elsa were eyeing, Anastasia excused herself from the duo not long after.
Anastasia felt no frustration or anger towards Damon whatsoever. If anything, she was just annoyed that he did what she was planning to do before she did, which was; taking all those eggs, and denying Alistair and Elsa any.
Also, she wasn’t particularly racing to take first place in the egg challenge phase. From instructor Black’s words, she reckon all those in the top 64 would pass this phase. So all she had to do was made sure she ranked up there.
As for the tournament itself, she had absolute confidence that she would beat everyone. She felt no threat from either, Alistair, Rose, Fabian, or even that kid with the shadow powers she had fought during the mock exam. But strangely enough, the one she was a little wary of, was Damon.
The fact itself almost made her laugh. How long ago was it that he was a puny Eta- ranked. The type she could crush without even trying. But now, he was just a rank below her. And those so called reflections of his, whose strength could be higher than his, they were probably his best bet at fighting her.
Still, she brushed it off, after all, she knew she’d win.
