The python's eyes opened wide as he saw a massive white thing appear beneath Isdis. But it wasn't a thing, even she didn't make that mistake. Those pale white scales, those glowing blue eyes, and the cold aura.

A white drakaina. She was still mid-running as she had just arrived.

An ice rein got formed with her magic, coiled around the drakaina's head, and landed in Isdis's hand.

"Kory!" Before Isdis could even finish her call, Kory was there to help.

Kory flapped her wings, and at the next moment, she bolted toward the python and Roberta like an arrow.

Kory didn't understand what was happening, but she didn't need to understand. She could see Roberta surrounded by a massive black snake. Kill the snake, and get Roberta to safety. Isdis would deal with the details.

Kory flew at the python, leaving all control over her body to Isdis. She is just following the direction given to her by Isdis's magic. The rein was just there so Isdis won't be flung back due to Kory's horrifying speed.

Like a flash of light, Kory flew at blinding speed and crashed into the python. Her claws and fangs grabbed and pulled the python apart, trying to open a path for Isdis to grab Roberta.

Kory was both surprised and horrified. The python was far stronger than her physically. Her claws cracked and dulled on their scales, and her jaw couldn't bite through them.

How did a monster like this make it inside the castle? And why in the frozen world of Isbert did this thing try to kidnap Roberta? She is the nicest woman alive in this place. If this thing took Roberta away, then who'll make ice cream for Kory at night?

In a fraction of a second, the fight became personal for Kory. She used all of her might to restrain the python, and the python did its best to kill Kory. Yes, her orders were to not harm Isdis. Arad said nothing about a white-scaled lizard with wings.

The python's tail grew longer, and it coiled around Kory's whole body to crush her. Without wasting a second, the python was already feeling Kory's ribs, almost cracking.

But Kory won't fall just like that. Her eyes glared at the python with rage and anger; she won't take her ice cream maker away. Red scales started rapidly showing on her body, and fire burned deep within her chest.

In the meantime, Isdis threw her hand forward, trying to reach in and pull Roberta away from the python. Kory was in a hard spot, yes. But she could shift into a human form and escape before the python's grasp caught her.

It was a bit strange: the relationship between Kory and Isdis. The two weren't just friends; they trusted each other a lot. Kory didn't know for her bright thoughts, but boasted a lot of power. Isdis was the opposite; among Arad's wives, she was probably one of the weakest. Yet those two worked so well together.

Kory did best when fighting beside Isdis, letting the ice princess make plans and take the lead while she just rages and follows orders. It also helped a lot that Kory's ice magic works really well with Isdis's ice magic, and they are both trying to comprehend temperature magic.

Isdis came up with temperature magic theories and spells while Kory tested them with her powerful and mana-rich draconic body. If one blew up in her face, she would be fine. Kory was a dragon, not a squishy human.

Isdis did all the thinking and complicated stuff, while Kory dealt with the heavy lifting and the dangerous stuff. That was how the two came to the idea of fighting like this. Kory is the dragon, and Isdis is her gallant rider.

If Isdis called, Kory won't even think. She'll instantly drop all that she is doing and rush to her, carrying her through battles without asking many questions.

"Enough." Everyone froze in place, engulfed by Arad's gravity magic. He had finally stopped the fight. "If she can protect Roberta from you two, then most normal dangers won't stand a chance."

He lowered them to the ground, and Roberta fell to her knees, her head spinning in circles around the globe. The fight had only lasted a few seconds, but it was already enough to make her want to part with her breakfast. Thank the gods they skipped lunch earlier.

Now it was time for Kory to ask questions, or one question for that is all she could think about in a single second. "What is going on?"

"I gave that snake to Roberta to protect her. This fight was to test how well she could achieve that role." Arad looked at the python, "You did a good job."

The python lifted her chin, hissing with a pridful smug grin on her face. She had never faced a dragon before in her life, but Kory looked like a powerful one. She couldn't crush her instantly, even when using a lot of power.

"You gave this thing to her?" Kory looked at the python for a second. "My claws couldn't scratch it."

"Her body is made from my void, of course you can't scratch it. Gamond might be able to do it, but I doubt anyone weaker than a greatwyrm can damage my void." He smiled, "How do you damage nothing?"

Kory remained silent for a second, then looked at Isdis. "How?"

"To damage nothing, try to fill it with something," Isdis suggested, and Arad laughed. "That might actually work. But, you'll have to contend with the speed at which my void destroys matter." freeweɓnovel.cѳm

Roberta had finally managed to stand back, and she looked at Arad. The python had already coiled back on her wrist like a pristine, precious bracelet of black jade.

"Let's... never do that again." She rubbed her forehead and tried her best to stand straight. Cerilla approached and checked her. "She is fine, unscathed."

Isdis sighed, "So even under that assault, that snake managed to keep her safe. I guess some thugs or a mad assassin won't have a chance." She looked at Roberta, "Congratulations, you've got a bodyguard."
