The Dirty Affairs of a Vampire and His Horny Stepmom-Chapter 27: Could we stop by my place later? (2)
Damn it, I don’t think I’ve ever been this anxious in my life.
Judging by Kimberly’s tone — so innocent and completely devoid of ulterior motives — I wouldn’t be surprised if she really invited me over only to give me back the money, just to then dismiss me and slam the door in my face a second later.
But if there’s one thing I’ve learned in my years of glorious service, it’s that the ones who at first glance seemed the most prudish and frigid in the world always turned out to be the most depraved once the bedroom door was closed.
And since Kimberly really seems like the embodiment of innocence and modesty, well... if one thing leads to another...
The afternoon spent together really flew by in the blink of an eye.
First, I took her out for a drink at the best place in Times Square. Obviously, everything was on me, even though she didn’t take it very well — she insisted at all costs on paying at least her share.
In the end, she gave in when I said, «This round is on me anyway, but if you’re really dying to put your hand in your wallet, then it means you’ll pay next time.»
Yeah, next time... and she agreed without batting an eye!
After pre-dinner drinks, we treated ourselves to a relaxing walk through Central Park, enjoying the sunset. On top of that, the route also happens to be a shortcut to her place.
And finally...
«Here we are,» Kimberly says, stopping in front of the entrance to a rather modest building
It’s certainly not one of the trendiest buildings in all of Manhattan, but it’s not a dump either. And considering apartment prices around here, she probably isn’t doing all that badly.
I barely have time to cross the threshold before I notice her calm, composed demeanor visibly waver the moment she pulls her key ring out of her bag.
Her face reddens, her breathing slows, and her hands clearly begin to tremble as she tries to insert the key into the lock — even though she’s doing everything she can to mask this sudden anxiety.
Ugh, what a pain... I’m afraid I’ll really have to put aside all the fantasies and mental plans I meticulously worked out during the afternoon. After all, with her this nervous and uncomfortable, it’s better to take a step back rather than push things and risk ruining everything.
«Alright then, I’ll wait for you out here,» I say naturally.
But the very moment the words leave my mouth... something strange happens.
She hesitates for just a second, as if my words had completely caught her off guard.
That disorientation lasts only an instant, but it’s so evident it couldn’t go unnoticed.
«Oh, don’t say nonsense, Jace,» she replies with a radiant smile. «There are a lot of unsavory people hanging around these streets, and I certainly can’t hand you over such a sum out here in the open. Come in — it’s not a problem, really.»
I don’t know whether what I said reassured her enough to make her lower her guard, or if she’s simply doing a better job of hiding her anxiety.
The only thing that matters is getting inside.
After twelve flights of stairs, I finally find myself standing in front of her apartment door — a situation that I wouldn’t have considered even in my rosiest expectations.
And to think that all of this happened because of that argument with Naomi... after all, as they say, not all bad things come to harm.
So, I step into the apartment.
The living room is as normal as one could imagine — a perfectly ordinary red couch, a perfectly ordinary. Nothing flashy or luxurious. But her bedroom... well, that’s a whole other story.
And yes, her bedroom — because that’s exactly where I am right now.
«I hid the money among my clothes, so my parents wouldn’t accidentally find it,» Kimberly murmurs, rummaging through a chest of drawers — not the underwear one, unfortunately.
Fuck... her room is like a damn national library! She told me she loved ancient books, but I expected at most a handful of dusty volumes on a shelf, not entire wardrobes crammed full of them. There must be at least two hundred. Now I understand why I’ve never seen her wear anything that costs more than twenty dollars... she spends it all on books!
Finally, she pulls a white, bulging envelope out of the drawer and hands it to me.
«Here’s the loot. I counted it three times — it’s all there,» she says, holding her arms out toward me.
«T-Thanks, even though I still can’t understand the reason for all this. It was just a gift, it’s not like you stole it...» I murmur, taking the envelope and slipping it into the front pocket of my hoodie. «Well, anyway, I’d say I can go now,» I add, turning toward the exit.
Unfortunately, I no longer have any excuse to stay, since she’s already given me back the money. Not that I’m really in such a hurry to leave Kimberly’s bedroom, but I can take it as a test: if she were to look for some other excuse to keep me here a bit longer, then... it would be a done deal.
«Thank you for the drink, Jace. But I warn you — if you don’t let me pay next time, I’ll really get mad!» she mutters, puffing out her cheeks, adorably angry. «So, see you tomorrow at school. Have a good evening,» she adds, her voice as sweet as honey, melting my heart.
Damn it... Kimberly isn’t just incredibly sexy — she’s sweetness incarnate. How is it possible that a girl like this really exists?
Well... in the end it didn’t turn out the way I hoped, but at least we’ve already set up a third date — it can be considered a half victory. At this point, it’s just a matter of time before Kimberly fucks me — I’m sure of it!
