The Devil's Warrior Queen-Chapter 499: In A Supernatural World
Chapter 499: In A Supernatural World
They arrived at the Castle during nighttime and the maids showed Anne to the guestroom on Lothaire’s orders while Larisa and Lothaire moved to theirs.
Anne couldn’t stop gawking at the Stupendously gorgeous Castle, the guest room she occupied was a luxurious gold designed room which was nothing less compared to a princess’s room.
It had two elegant chandeliers atop the roof opposite each other and an exquisite fireplace stood at the end of the room burning brightly which made the room filled with warmth, the furniture spoke of nothing but luxury and the large bed which proudly stood in the middle of the room was a queen sized bed with soft, fluffy rich pillows and expensive sheets on it.
Anne sighed softly as she jumped on the soft, comfortable bed that bounced her softly as she landed on it, a grin tore through her face knowing that her life was turning around for the better, she was no longer going to live as a broken wife in a forced marriage which she had seen a lot of girls from a business family suffer, instead she was going to have a comfortable one living freely in a supernatural world and a beautiful Empire which made her skin tingle with excitement.
She was going to make the most of her time in the mysterious Empire and have fun, she was definitely going to get hooked up with gorgeous vampires and the thought made her blush because for the first time, she would be making her own decisions for herself, something she was never been given the privilege to do.
Her father had watched her every movements like a hawk and kept tabs on her from what she wore to who she dated or gave a blowjob to, he had driven away all the guys she had dated if they didn’t match his standards and likes and none of her former boyfriends met his standards as they were all just normal average guys, since she saw rich guys as spoilt brats who lived off daddy’s money, so her father had driven all the guys she dated with money, before they could become something serious which made her give up in being in a romantic relationship and instead hooked up with strangers just to taunt her father as she knew he was watching her every move.
After a while of thinking of all the things she would do in Empire D, she finally succumbed into the hands of slumber as her eyelids felt heavy from the tiring, long trip.
Larisa and Lothaire arrived in their room and the maids unpacked their things in silence with lowered heads, not daring to look at the couple before leaving them to their privacy.
"What’s the matter Angel?" Lothaire’s deep voice rang into Larisa’s ears and she jolted her head towards his direction.
"It’s nothing, I think I just feel a bit sick from being up in the air, I’m not really good with flying." She lied, she also strongly wanted to believe her words, that it was the reason she was feeling uneasy but deep down, she knew it wasn’t the reason, there was something else, something that made her skin crawl, something that made her shudder with fright, something cold and deadly constantly reminding her it was watching her and she could feel it’s dangerous eyes on her.
Lothaire knew it wasn’t the flying, he knew there was something else, he could feel her fear from the mating bond they shared and he felt it the moment they arrived at Empire D when her heart raced hard in her chest and her breathing became hitched.
He squatted down to her level from where she sat on the couch, staring deeply into her eyes and she tried to avert her gaze from his but his golden eyes locked his gaze into hers, making it unable for her to avert her gaze.
"You can talk to me Larisa, I can feel your fear, tell me what’s bothering you love." Lothaire said with a persuasive voice, his golden eyes were calm and his voice soft and gentle as he spoke to her, his warmth towards her made him seem completely different from when he conversed with others, but she reasoned she could tell him how she felt even though she felt as though she was overreacting or thinking too much because of all the bad memories she had in Empire D.
"I’m not sure but I feel something strange...and cold, like it’s coming from inside the Castle....it feels familiar though but I don’t remember where I felt it from.." Larisa explained with a shaky voice and the more she spoke, the more the eerie feeling she got intensified and her heart pounded hard in her chest.
Lothaire’s thick brows creased together, he didn’t like what he was hearing, if she was feeling something like that, then it wasn’t something he’d look over and he would definitely figure out the cause to get rid of it for her, just to make her feel safe and happy. He could hear her heart beat increase rapidly as she spoke and his face turned grim, he didn’t like the fact that she felt unsafe when he was there to protect her and the thought pricked his skin that she felt insecure and scared when he was obviously able to protect her.
"I’ll figure out what’s wrong, Laverna will be able to figure out the source of whatever feeling you’re having and we’ll get rid of it, everything will be fine." Lothaire assured her with a firm voice and she nodded her head gently. She didn’t want to make him worry, they had gotten rid of their enemies and they had already started living peacefully after the bloody war and she didn’t want to ruin the peace they had with her negative thoughts and the unnerving feeling she got, maybe it was because it was a supernatural Empire, she thought to herself, comforting herself with those thoughts.
She felt his strong palms on hers as he caressed her gently and she felt a sense of relief as she felt his warm touch on her, spreading the warmth all over her body and her heart beat slowed down to it’s normal pace. Even as he squatted down at her level, he still reached her height and she lowered her face to meet his, staring at his gorgeous face before placing her lips on his, cupping his face with her small palms as she pushed her lips firmly into his, feeling the softness and warmth of his lips as she kissed him, biting and sucking on his lips and Lothaire let her take lead.
Lothaire wanted to feel her more but her safety was his first priority before anything else, he wanted to get rid of whatever was troubling her as soon as he could so they could resume their peaceful life together even though he knew their life would be far from peaceful in a matter of while, if she got pregnant any time soon.
He pulled from the kiss and stood up to leave, leaving her unsatisfied and her eyes were begging him not to leave but he had to, he had to solve the problem as soon as possible and also, it was time for him to make Avian’s and Laverna spill whatever they were doing secretly under his nose, as if he would be that stupid not to notice that something was brewing between Laverna and Avian and he was going to squeeze it out of them if he had to.
"I have to find Laverna so we can sort it out immediately, I don’t want to see you having to ever feel unsafe and scared, so we’re going to get rid of it as soon as possible." Lothaire said with a dark glint in his golden eyes that disappeared as quickly as it came. She wondered if it would be that easy to get rid of the unknown, it was a presence they weren’t even sure of, a presence they didn’t even know the origin of or what it was so how were the going to get rid of the unknown except gaining knowledge of it? She thought to herself.
She nodded in response.
"Oh, okay." She said with a small voice and he caressed her cheek lightly before disappearing out of her sight through the large double doors as she watched him walk away. She sighed in frustration as he left, she wondered what could possibly be wrong now after finally surviving a hectic war, it seemed like another one was slowly gathering up. She wondered if they would ever have peace but peace or not, she would cherish every moment they spent together.
She tried to think of where she had felt the familiar presence from, she found it weird that she couldn’t remember where she felt the dark presence from, she knew it wasn’t coming from Lothaire because it felt different, it felt ice cold and it made the hair on her skin stand erect in fear unlike Lothaire’s which made her feel warm.
