The Devil's Warrior Queen-Chapter 494: A WinWin
Chapter 494: A WinWin
Larisa and Anne met at the school park the next day at school and they continued their discussion but a pair of golden eyes watched them from afar.
"So you were attacked and almost killed by a crazy sorceress and you met the devil? Wow! I seriously find this hard to believe!" Anne exclaimed as Larisa narrated her ordeal to her in Empire D.
"Yeah, it’s crazy right?" Larisa found her own story equally unbelievable but she had gone through it all, so there was no doubt it was real.
"And they’re hot vampires too?? Ugh, it’s definitely not ever boring there! Lucky you." Anne said as she pushed her lips upward and Larisa chuckled.
"It’s always so bloody, I just wish we could have a peaceful life together, it wouldn’t be boring to me as long as we were together." Larisa said as she stared at space dreamily, no matter how much she longed for a peaceful and quiet life with him, she knew it would never be possible for as long as they lived and she always had an unnerving feeling like the universe was warning her that something worse was going to happen and she prayed inwardly that whatever bad feeling she felt was only her thinking too much and being irrational but she knew deep down she wasn’t.
"So expected of you, the Angel who wants a quiet life with the man she loves, while I’m the crazy bitch who wants to see heads roll." Anne said as she laughed hysterically.
"You’re just saying that because you haven’t seen heads roll, remember I used to love watching scary movies but seeing the blood and everything in real life, it just feels so nauseating and gory..... it’s heartbreaking." Larisa said as she remembered Onyx who died unfairly and her voice almost broke.
"Are you okay?" Anne asked with a soft voice as she noticed her friend’s glum look.
"Onyx died, she was a vampire who looked out for me and she died trying to save me so no, I’m not okay, I feel terrible and I feel so much self resentment...." Larisa said with a croaked voice as tears filled the brim of her hazel eyes.
"Hey don’t say that, it’s not your fault, it’s no one’s fault, bad things happen and we can’t always control it, so sometimes we have to deal with it." Anne said as she cuddled her gently.
"I don’t know, I feel like if I did something, she would still be alive, I miss her..." Larisa said with a voice as low as a whisper as she sniffed.
"What were you supposed to do huh? Get yourself killed? I was in that car when my mom and I had an accident and she died but I never once blamed myself for it or be like ’if I had done something then mom wouldn’t have died or it’s my fault cause I told her to take me to Disney land’, I never thought like that for a second because it wasn’t my fault, life just happens and it throws both the good side and the bad side at you and don’t forget you have Lothaire, which is one of the best things life could ever had offered you based on your opinion as a breed mate." Anne said beaming a wide smile at her and she immediately felt relieved, Anne’s speech was definitely what she needed to stop blaming herself for Onyx’s death. Anne wiped the tears off her face and she gave her a sweet smile.
"Thanks Anne, you’re right, I feel like the luckiest girl in the world because I have you and Lothaire." Larisa said and Anne hugged her tight with a huge smile on her face.
"Awwn my little Pumpkin’s so sweet."
"Yeah, please don’t crush this little pumpkin.." Larisa said with a hoarse voice and Anne instinctively let go, staring at her in alert and they both burst into a round of laughter.
"Larisa, there’s something I need to tell you since we’re not keeping any secrets well personally I didn’t want to put the burden of telling you so you won’t get worried and stuff as you’re so soft and...."
"Just spill it out already!" Larisa interrupted as she got tired of Anne beating around the bush. Anne exhaled deeply.
" I’m... "
"Oh my God! You’re pregnant?!" Larisa exclaimed with wide eyes as her palms flew to her mouth and Anne shot her a wary look.
"What’s gotten into you Larisa? I might be crazy but not crazy enough to be stuck that deep." Anne said immediately and Larisa pressed her lips in a thin line.
"What about you? When do you and Lothaire plan to have babies? Already busy making them huh?" Anne queried teasingly with a mischievous smirk on her face and Larisa’s cheeks turned red as her mind wandered to the previous day, she and Lothaire had made love nonstop throughout the whole day but still, he wasn’t in the least tired.
"What? I..I don’t know, we’ve never really spoken about it, I don’t even know if he wants one, he doesn’t seem like a child lover." Larisa said with a low voice and a glum look as she realized that Lothaire had never spoke of having children with her and it wouldn’t surprise her if he didn’t want to.
"What about you? You’ve always loved kids, right?" Anne said with a soft tone.
"Yeah but what if he doesn’t, then he wouldn’t be happy if we had one." Larisa said with lips pressed in a straight line.
"Come on! I’m very sure he’d be ecstatic if you got pregnant, I mean what man wouldn’t. No matter how heartless or cold he is, I see the way he looks at you like you mean the world to him and I’m very sure he’d love to make babies with you, so why don’t you ask him and hear out his reply which I’m sure would be a positive one before you start jumping into conclusions?" Anne said with a cheerful tone.
"You always manage to say things that makes me feel better, now that I think about it, you’re actually similar to Onyx, I think that’s why I liked her." Larisa said thoughtfully with a smile on her face.
"Oh! Was she a blonde?" Anne drawled twirling her blonde hair.
"No, she had the most beautiful red hair and ocean blue eyes, she was so ethereal and gorgeous." Larisa said, deep in thoughts but she had a bright look on her face as she spoken about her, she would never fall sad when she remembered her again, instead she would keep her beautiful memories cheerfully in her heart with her.
"OK, so I’m not ethereal, got it!" Anne said with a sarcastic tone as she feigned a hurt expression and Larisa giggled at her friend’s sense of humour.
"Hey! You’re diverting the topic, you wanted to tell me something important, how could we lose track of it?" Larisa exclaimed in disbelief that they were both lost.
"Oh right, So I wanted to tell you that...I’m getting married but before you say anything, no it’s not a man I like, my father set us up and I can’t even run away if I want to, he’s frozen my account, I don’t have a dime on me so I can’t leave or refuse because he’s watching me even as we speak so no one can help me but it’s fine, I can handle it, I never hoped on getting married to a man I’d like anyway, that’s what you get for being born in a rich family, your life just naturally sucks!." Anne explained everything with a flat tone in a rush which left Larisa’s mouth hanging half open and eyes widened in shock and disbelief.
"I..I don’t understand.." Larisa said with a low voice and Anne nodded sarcastically.
"There’s nothing to understand, I’m being forced into a marriage not of my choice because I was born rich, so I have to deal with it but....Since you told me about Lothaire and the secret Empire, I have hope." Anne said with a mischievous glint in her eyes and Larisa stared at her in amazement as she knew exactly what she meant.
"You want to stay in Empire D with us?" Larisa asked with a perplexed look.
"Yeah, I won’t have to get married to that dick head and we won’t have to separate, it’s a win win for everyone." Anne said excitedly and Larisa gave her a nervous chuckle but would Lothaire agree to her ridiculous request? freёwebnoѵel.com
