After having a meal together, Morpheus decided to leave.

"Where are you going?" Ember asked.

"I need to stretch my wings. I am a beast bird and you can't expect me to continue to be in one place," Morpheus answered as he looked eager to go away. "I would be around, don't worry."

Ember looked at Draven, who assured him to let him go.

"Alright," Ember said and watched Morpheus leave.

Once he was gone, Ember spoke while looking towards the window from where Morpheus was gone, "Draven, why do I feel like he just wants to stay away from me? He doesn't show it, but I can feel it." She turned to look at him, "Am I wrong to feel this way?"

Draven had allowed Morhpheus to leave as he could see Morpheus needed to go away from Ember after staying around for long. Though he was getting used to her scent now, it would still take a time till he could withstand it completely.

But he wondered till how long he could keep it from Ember that Morpheus is affected by bond pull unlike her, who feels nothing. It was a matter between two mates, so he was sure sooner or later these two would come to terms over the truth between them.

"Today he stayed with you and even listened to what you said even without you ordering him to do anything, that means he cares and values you as his mate," Draven spoke, "It's a new dynamics for him and something he and even you have not expected so it might take him time to meld in."

She hummed as if trying to process Draven's words. "I just want him to know that he has a family now and is no longer alone. I want him to be happy, instead of living a lonely life."

"He will," Draven assured and observed her worried face. Something came to his mind and he said, "You should also know that the bond you share with him is different from the bond you share with me. It won't work the same way it works for us."

Ember felt puzzled but said, "I truly don't know how it works. Today I got to know one aspect that he is compelled to follow my orders, but it can't go like this. I can't always force him to do things. I truly need to understand how this bond works so I might find a way for us."

Draven simply hummed, and said, "I have to leave to check the border with the Human clan."

"Anything happened after the last time they sneaked inside the kingdom?" Ember asked.

"I am not sure, but it seems like something is going on."

"Are you going to accept their request?"

"No! Humans are not trustable and I can't let you have anything to do with them," Draven said, "The moment you became my mate, you are no longer a human now. You are just Ember Aramis, Black Dragon's mate."

"I will do as you say," she assured.

Draven left and Ember wondered about her and Morpheus. "Draven is right. I need to learn about the bond," with that she went straight to his study. There she asked the servant, "Where can I find the book to study about the divine eagle clan?"

As Erlos was gone with Draven, another elf servant, helped her, "Yes, Lady Ember. Let me take you there."

With the help of the servant, she found the book she needed. Ember took it back to her own study room where she focussed on reading about the Divine Eagle clan.

'So all along he is just suffering by my side, and I was not even aware of it?' The wave of guilt washed over her, 'Why didn't anyone tell me? The pull of a bond is the worst thing to deal with. I still remember that pain, my soul felt like it was falling apart. How did Morph managed to bear with it? He must have been pain, and he is still dealing with it.'

She closed her eyes in guilt. 'How am I going to deal with it? There must be a way to end this, right? I can't let Morph suffer.'

She knew the answer on her own somehow but she read anyway. As expected, she had to mate with him.

Ember's heart skipped a beat at the thought. 'Mating with Morph?' she swallowed hard, 'This… there should be another way. This bond is different, so it must be something else…' she frantically read through all the pages, but there was no other answer to it.

She closed the book in frustration. 'Maybe not in the book, but I can try to talk to the elders from that clan. They might know the other way?' She stood up with determination. 'I need to talk to Draven so I can talk to someone knowledgeable from the eagle clan. I can't let Morph know about it or he might feel angry. I will sure find a way.'
