Chapter 232: Be Careful of Those Around

This formless clash finally ended in a way that left everyone with their own impressions on it.

Afterwards, everyone sat down together.

Shien and Lucy sat down on the same couch.

Jacinta sat opposite of the two of them, and behind him stood the demon twins to the left and right.

“Now, for what reason might the two of you have sought me out here?” Jacinta spoke with interest, “It shouldn’t be just a casual visit, right?”

Obviously, Jacinta has already guessed that Shien and Lucy have come here with a goal in mind.

And putting aside Shien, Lucy personally didn’t have any intention of hiding it.

“My lord has stayed here in the Capital for quite some time this time.”

Lucy started off with such a statement.

“That’s true, I did stay a bit longer this time.” Jacinta nodded, but then he looked at Lucy with a teasing smirk, “Your highness isn’t here to chase me out though, right?”

“I wouldn’t go that far no matter what.” Lucy spoke evenly, “However, we are quite curious as to what reason might there be for Lord Jacinta to have chosen to stay so long in the mortal world and in the Capital.”

“So that’s how it is. I’m not being chased out, but interrogated.” Jacinta pointed out in meaningful way, “No matter what, Mitra Kingdom’s Capital is somewhere known to be the center of the world. There are lots of people who have come here and were pulled in by the magnificent and bustling atmosphere here. Am I not allowed to have that same reason and choose to play around in the Capital for a bit longer?”

“If my lord only wants to play around, then the Kingdom will of course welcome it.” Lucy spoke without any change in expression, “Unfortunately though, based on our knowledge, my lord’s personel seem to recently been taking abnormal actions in the areas surrounding the Capital. Is this true?”

While saying those words Lucy’s gaze shifted toward the twin demons behind Jacinta.

The twins however were extremely cool. Or rather, it should instead be said that they are far more guarded after the formless class earlier, so even when they received the full force of Lucy’s focus, they still weren’t shaken at all.

Jacinta’s expression didn’t so much as change a bit.

“I believe that your highness must have misunderstood something.” Jacinta remained utterly placid, “While I’m staying here in the Capital, I’ve also given my subordinates the freedom to enjoy themselves as the like, so as to not waste this opportunity here in the mortal world. They’re just playing around and sightseeing, just like me, so what abnormal actions could there be?”

“Is that so?” Lucy looked straight at Jacinta, “In other words, my lord knows absolutely nothing of what has been happening in the areas surrounding the Capital. Can I understand it that way then?”

“Indeed.” Jacinta replied without a thought, “Although I do not know of what your highness might mean by situations in the areas surrounding the Capital, it must be a misunderstanding. We definitely did not do anything suspicious.”

Lucy immediately fell silent.

Jacinta was also completely calm and in control the whole time, not showing the slightest opening.

However, Shien felt like there’s definitely something suspicious about that guy no matter what.

The reason for that is simple.

“Can my lord then swear to that by the name of the Dragon Demon then?”

When Lucy said those words, the smile on Jacinta’s face completely disappeared.

However, the next second, he smiled once more.

“I of course am willing to swear by the name of the Dragon Demon.” Jacinta spoke evenly, “At the very least, I have no intention of bringing any harm to the mortal world or this Kingdom. This much I can promise.”

In other words, so long as no harm is done, then it doesn’t count as suspicious.

As expected, that guy is definitely doing something in the dark or planning something.

“My lord.” Lucy stared at Jacinta and spoke in a low tone, “Do you have some kind of understanding of what’s been happening around the Capital?”

Lucy’s words are basically her charging straight in.

Only, while Jacinta didn’t deny it, he didn’t confirm it either.

“I have no special plan to do anything bad when it comes to my stay here in the Capital. This much I can assure your highness.” Jacinta spoke evasively, “As for other matters, as outsiders, it would be unsuitable for us to interfere, nor do we plan on interfering.”

The meaning behind those words are that they have their own matters that they want to deal with. They won’t be of any threat to the people of the Capital, but nor will they be of any aid.

“Well then, does my lord then know of a monster that’s half human, half centipede, along with dragon wings and is able to breath dragon breath?”

Lucy stopped beating around the bush and directly threw that question out.

“With dragon wings, and able to breath dragon breath…”

Jacinta’s eyes narrowed.

Shien’s sharp senses felt it. In that instant, a disdainful and contemptuous look flashed across Jacinta’s eyes.

It wasn’t aimed at Shien or Lucy though. Rather, it was toward the monster that Lucy mentioned.

Then, Jacinta started speaking.

“I am very interested in topics relating to dragons, but I’m afraid that I’ve never heard of the dragon type creature that your highness speaks of.” Jacinta spoke solemnly, “Perhaps it’s some mongrel from who knows where, or perhaps its some lowlife who randomly grabbed some dragon related materials and pieced them together thinking that they could get something out. I have no interest whatsoever in that kind of trash though.”

When he said that, Jacinta’s sneer and pride were being obviously displayed.

It’s quite obvious that Jacinta had a great amount of respect when it comes to dragons. And his attitude towards that monster is nothing less than pure disdain.

Since he had said that much, Shien and Lucy had more or less understood the situation.

Jacinta unquestionably knows something.

However, he doesn’t have any direct relationship with the matter. Rather, he’s instead standing opposed to whoever is behind it.

Perhaps then, the reason that Jacinta is staying in the Capital for so long and his subordinates are running around the Capital isn’t to do anything suspicious, but instead that he’s trying to deal with the masterminds behind all this.

Shien and Lucy have both realized that, so they more or less relaxed.

At the very least, this at least proves that Jacinta won’t be their enemy.

Of course, it’s also far too early to say that they completely trusted him.

Given that, Shien and Lucy did not completely relax their guards. Instead, they held a dubious attitude as they continued chatting with Jacinta.

Afterward, Shien and Lucy said their goodbyes.

However, before they left, Jacinta gave the two of them a piece of advice.

“As for the monster that your highness has spoken of, since it’s been defeated, then those who attempted to use it for their purposes will very likely end up doing something.”

Jacinta spoke in a meaningful tone.

“As the two people involved, you should be careful of those around you, you know?”

With those final words, Jacinta finally led the twin demons and left the meeting room.

Shien and Lucy held those words deep in their minds as they too left the embassy.
