The Devil Doctor's Spicy Love-Chapter 421: Engagement chaos (11)
Nuwa said, "I-I am not here to...to sleep with you."
Jielun, who had been waiting for her all this with an uncontrollable urge to have her in his bed, frowned heavily. He couldn’t understand what she was talking about. So he ignored it. He rushed toward her and grabbed her hand, caressing the back of it.
"I have been waiting for you for so long, you know that?" The hunger to have her evident in his eyes.
Nuwa gasped and backed off immediately, shaking tremblingly.
"There has been some misunderstanding...! Like I said I am not here to-"
"What are you talking about? Long Sicong sent you here to please me so that’s what you will do!" He brightened, ignoring the panic in her eyes. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
"Look I have so many toys we can play with!"
Nuwa was panicking more and more. It felt like no matter what she said, it wasn’t getting through Jielun’s head and he was hell bent on realizing this night.
Jielun’s eyes gleamed with a strange light, the kind that made her pulse jump in alarm. He reached over to her side and his grip tightened around her wrist, but she instinctively pulled back.
"Let me go, please!" she said, voice trembling. "You have misunderstood everything!"
But her words seemed to bounce off a wall. He wasn’t hearing her. He was lost in his own twisted fantasy, mumbling about "promises" and "gifts" under his breath.
Panic flooded through Nuwa’s veins. The door behind her was too far; he was standing between her and escape. Yes, that was what she had planned to do because she had no other choice. She have had her fair share of clients but none like Jielun who held a manic glint in his eyes.
"I had been wanting you ever since I saw you with that bastard Zihan!"
She froze.
"You are so beautiful!" He shone. "Ahh, we have talked enough now. I cannot wait!"
"Mr. Hou," she began, trying to keep her tone calm, "I-I an not who you think I am. There has been a terrible mistake. I don’t think I am the woman you saw with that man you just mentioned-"
Her voice cracked as he took a step closer. The dangerous gleam in his eyes only deepened.
"I have waited for this night," he murmured. "Don’t run away again. You look more beautiful by my side. Zihan is a loser!"
Her jaw clenched. Hearing Zihan being called a loser burned her heart with fury, but she dare not oppose him, not when she was in his own den.
Her heartbeat thundered in her ears. Element of surprise was her only hope. She darted sideways toward the door, fast. Jielun stared blankly, his mind not registering for a long moment that Nuwa was trying to run away. When he did, he reached out to grab her, but she twisted her arm free, stumbling toward the corridor. She didn’t stop despite feeling the building rage within him. The fear of being cornered again propelled her forward.
"Hey, where are you going!? Come back! You can’t leave!"
Behind her, Jielun shouted, the sound echoing through the dark hallways. She could hear him crashing into furniture, his voice twisting into a mix of rage and desperation.
"Come back! You can’t leave! I will make you stay!" he kept repeating the same thing over and over again.
Nuwa turned a sharp corner, lungs burning. Every step felt heavier, but she kept running, breathless. Her mind screamed for help, but the mansion was eerily silent. From a corner, she saw a maid climbing up the stairs and horrified, she turned toward another corridor. She collided into someone hard. Her knees buckled, and a steady hand caught her before she could fall.
"Let go! Let go!" she desperately flailed.
"Hey-" The man’s voice faltered as he saw her pale face and the terror shining in her eyes.
"Please!" she gasped. "Let me go!"
Anming’s stared at her. He knew that voice and face. He looked past her shoulder and froze when he saw his younger brother charging through the hallway like a storm. It was only a matter of time before the entire mansion would be alerted to action. He grabbed her arm and stuffed her into a nearby room.
"Don’t make any noise."
Then he walked forward and coldly said, "Jielun! Why are you shouting like this?"
Jielun skidded to a halt. His face twisted in fury. "Don’t get in my way! That bitch escaped! Did you see her?"
"That woman? No. I don’t care what happened but stop screaming like a kid."
Before Jielun could respond, Anming grabbed his collar and shoved him back. The impact made him stagger, his expression breaking between shock and fury.
"You are pathetic. Go back to your room and let the guards handle it. They will find her. Where will she escape anyway? Just calm down for God’s sake."
Eventually, the rest of the family stepped out with the commotion where Jielun cursed Nuwa, enraged. Anming slipped out of the scene and quietly walked back to the room.
He opened the door and said, "Go down the back side through the garden and you will find the exit. I will lead the guards to search for you elsewhere."
"Wh-why would you help-"
"Just go and don’t turn back. Jielun is sick..." a glint passed in his eye. "You are precious to someone whom I know. I cannot let him down. Go."
The sharpness in his tone left no room for hesitation. Nuwa nodded shakily and turned, her shoes scraping against the polished floor as she sprinted in the direction he said. Behind her, Jielun’s screams echoed endlessly that didn’t sound any less than a wounded beast.
The night air hit her like a slap as she stepped out in the garden. For a moment, she stood frozen, the adrenaline threatening to choke her. But she began to run again, not daring to lose this chance.
She didn’t know where she was going, only that she needed to put as much distance between herself and the Hou mansion as possible. Through her tears and exhaustion, the streets blurred. She tripped at one point but still pushed on. Her body was trembling with the mix of shock and fear making her legs weak.
When her knees finally gave out, she found herself collapsing against the iron gates of another entrance. She dazedly looked at the house in the distance that looked too bleak and isolated as if it was in its own world.
"And who might you be I wonder?"
She froze hard.
From within the gates, she heard the sound of wheels scraping against the ground. A man soon came into view from the darkness as he stared at her. He tilted his head as he watched her tired and breathless.
Syaoran stared. "Where is this butterfly escaping to?"
