The Destiny Villainess Wants Me To Work!-Chapter 126: A Little Poke~
Yang Qingxi didn’t bother knocking as she entered Su Mo’s room.
The curtains were half drawn, letting in a soft stream of morning light. The room was quiet, undisturbed, as if the chaos outside had nothing to do with the room’s owner.
And on the bed, Su Mo was sleeping soundly.
Completely still and relaxed, like a log.
Yang Qingxi stopped by the bedside and looked at him for a moment, her expression unreadable.
This man...
While Jiangnan City was on the verge of turning upside down, he was sleeping as if the world owed him peace.
Her lips pressed into a thin line.
She raised her hand, intending to wake him up directly.
But halfway through, her hand stopped.
Yang Qingxi blinked slightly, then as if some evil spell was cast on her.
For some reason, instead of shaking him awake, her fingers lowered... and gently ruffled his hair. Soft strands slipped between her fingers, slightly messy but unexpectedly smooth. Her expression eased unconsciously.
"Who made you have such a face with that kind of personality?" she muttered quietly.
A narcissistic, lazy man with a devilish mind—yet his sleeping face looked... annoyingly peaceful.
The corner of her lips curved faintly.
Her gaze lingered for just a moment longer than it should have.
Then, as if acting on impulse, she raised her forefinger again—this time aiming at his cheek.
Just a light poke, nothing more.
Her finger moved forward slowly—
But right at that moment, Su Mo stirred.
His instincts reacted first.
His head tilted slightly to the side.
And Yang Qingxi’s finger... missed its target.
Instead, it went straight deep into his nose.
Time seemed to freeze. For one second, the room fell into absolute silence.
Su Mo’s eyes opened slowly.
There was confusion at first. Then realisation hit.
He jerked backwards instantly, his face contorting as he stared at her.
"What are you doing, Miss Yang?!"
His tone was a mix of shock and disbelief—along with very obvious disgust.
Yang Qingxi froze completely.
Her brain blanked out.
She looked at her own finger.
Then at Su Mo.
Then back to her finger.
Her expression twisted slightly.
"This is a misunderstanding," she said immediately. "I can explain."
Su Mo leaned further back, putting distance between them as if she had just done something unforgivable.
"I never expected you to have such a weird hobby," he said, shaking his head slowly. "Poking inside people’s noses while they’re sleeping... Eww."
Yang Qingxi’s eyelid twitched.
"Although I don’t want to judge you," he continued, his tone full of fake sympathy, "this is really disgusting."
A vein popped visibly on her forehead. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
Her patience snapped.
"Enough!" she snapped sharply. "I was just trying to wake you up. Who asked you to move suddenly?"
She pointed at him accusingly.
"It’s your fault!"
Su Mo blinked.
"My fault?"
"And now my finger is dirty because of you," she added coldly, her tone filled with disgust.
Without waiting for his response, she turned and walked straight toward the washroom, her steps firm and slightly faster than usual.
Su Mo sat there, still half-awake, staring at her back with a blank expression.
"...My fault?"
He lowered his gaze slowly.
Then raised his hand and touched his nose.
His expression became even more complicated.
For a moment, he genuinely started questioning his life choices.

When Yang Qingxi returned from the washroom, her expression had already returned to normal, at least on the surface.
Su Mo, who had been sitting on the bed, also showed no intention of bringing up what had just happened.
For two people who had just experienced something... questionable, the tacit understanding between them was surprisingly smooth.
One chose silence out of embarrassment.
The other chose silence out of self-preservation.
After all, if he dug too deep into Miss Yang’s "peculiar habits," he might end up having to reevaluate his entire impression of her.
And that sounded troublesome.
Su Mo cleared his throat lightly, deciding to steer things back to something normal.
"So then," he said, "why did you come to wake me up, Miss Yang?"
Yang Qingxi shot him a glance. "What do you mean? Is it a problem if I wake you up?"
"No, no—that’s not what I meant," Su Mo replied quickly, raising his hands slightly in surrender. "I’m just... surprised. This doesn’t seem like something you would normally do."
He paused, then added with a polite smile, "But if you ever want to wake me up, you’re always welcome."
"Huh?" Yang Qingxi snorted. "Do you think I have that much free time?"
She folded her arms. "Once in a while is fine."
[Is she serious?]
The moment she heard his inner thought, Yang Qingxi realised something was off.
Her expression stiffened slightly.
That... didn’t come out right.
Without giving him a chance to think further, she immediately changed the topic.
"Anyway, enough of that." Her tone turned serious. "Something big has happened, Su Mo."
Su Mo raised a brow, his earlier casual demeanour fading slightly. "What could make you this serious early in the morning?"
"Ye Chen escaped."
"Oh?"
A hint of interest appeared in Su Mo’s eyes.
"Earlier than I expected," he said calmly. "As expected of a protagonist."
He leaned back slightly. "But that alone shouldn’t worry you, right? We already knew this would happen sooner or later."
Yang Qingxi nodded.
"If it were just that, I wouldn’t care."
Her expression grew heavier.
"But he didn’t escape alone."
Su Mo’s gaze sharpened slightly. Who else? Did he have a partner or a group? However, Yang Qingxi’s answer was beyond his expectations.
She continued, her tone low and trembling. "He escaped with most of the prisoners inside. And during the escape... they carried out a massacre."
Su Mo’s hand, which had been reaching for his phone, stopped mid-air.
He looked at her directly.
"...How many were killed?"
"More than fifty, including the prison guards and some prisoners." Yang Qingxi replied.
The room fell silent.
Su Mo didn’t speak immediately, still reeling in the shock brought by the news.
