The Demon Among The Knights-Chapter 31 - 30 The battle begins part 3: Luci vs push
The endless void of space stretched infinitely in all directions, its silence only broken by the violent clashes of a battle on the moon’s desolate surface. The moon itself, barren and lifeless, now bore the scars of an apocalyptic duel. Luci stood tall, his iron chains coiled loosely around his arms . Across from him, Push floated above the ground, his white aura streaked with flashes of blinding white light.
"I don’t see the appeal of fighting you here," Luci mused, his tone mockingly calm. "But I suppose there’s no better stage than the moon for a final act."
Push’s face hardened. His white aura flickered like a broken flame, a testament to the infernal energy coursing through him. "On Earth or here, it doesn’t matter. I’ll crush you all the same."
Luci raised an eyebrow, his smirk widening. "Big talk for someone barely keeping up. Tell me, did Lucifer teach you anything useful besides parlor tricks?"
Push’s knuckles whitened, his grip firm. "You’ll regret underestimating me, Luci. Pull and I didn’t return to Hell empty-handed. Father gave us something far beyond gravity... something you won’t laugh at for long."
He raised his weapon skyward, his voice booming: "Hell Technique: Blinding Radiance!"
A gleaming sword of pure light materialized in his hand, its brilliance cutting through the moon’s perpetual twilight. With a single swing, he unleashed a crescent wave of energy that ripped through the lunar surface, carving deep trenches as it surged toward Luci. The energy illuminated the void, casting jagged shadows on the cratered terrain.
Luci didn’t move. As the wave neared, he raised one hand lazily, catching the attack mid-air. The immense force fizzled and shattered like glass in his palm. Tiny fragments of light scattered across the battlefield before vanishing into the void.
"Cute," Luci said with a smirk, flexing his fingers as if brushing off dust. "But if this is the best you’ve got, I’ll be disappointed."
Push’s eyes flared with rage. "Stop acting so smug!" He thrust his glowing sword into the air again. "Hell Technique: Asteroid Rain!"
The void above rippled as dozens of asteroids appeared out of nowhere, their fiery trails blazing through space as they hurtled toward Luci. The sheer scale of the attack was enough to shake the moon itself, dust rising in waves from its surface.
Unfazed, Luci moved like a predator stalking its prey. The first asteroid came crashing down, but he leapt, kicking it with enough force to shatter it into countless fragments. The second he punched directly, the impact sending it spiraling into space. As the rest descended, Luci spun his iron chains in a blur of motion, smashing through the incoming barrage with a casual efficiency.
When the onslaught subsided, the moon’s surface was left riddled with craters, and Luci stood unscathed.
Push took the opportunity to charge, his light sword aiming straight for Luci’s heart. "This time, you won’t walk away!" he roared.
But Luci’s chains snapped forward, intercepting the strike mid-swing. The force of the collision sent sparks flying as the two clashed, the sound reverberating through the void. In one fluid motion, Luci yanked Push closer, delivering a devastating headbutt that sent him hurtling across the moon’s surface.
Push’s body skidded across the lunar ground, carving a trench into the surface. He groaned, coughing up black blood as he staggered to his feet. His aura flickered dangerously, the strain of the battle evident on his face.
Luci stood at the edge of the crater, casually spinning his chains. His smirk hadn’t faded. "You’re slowing down, Push. Are you sure those ’new powers’ are worth all this trouble?"
"You’re still underestimating me," Push growled, his eyes blazing. "And I’ll make you regret it."
He raised his sword once more, his voice echoing with fury: "Hell Technique: Light of Hell!"
A radiant white aura exploded from his body, engulfing the battlefield in blinding light. Beams of concentrated energy shot out in all directions, striking the moon’s surface and piercing deep craters into its crust. The sheer intensity of the attack forced Luci to leap back, narrowly dodging a beam that carved through the ground where he stood moments before.
One beam struck Luci’s chest, tearing through his clothes and sending a spray of lunar dust into the void. Push laughed, panting heavily. "Not so cocky now, are you?"
But as the dust settled, Luci emerged unscathed, the beam having done little more than graze his skin. His smirk widened. "Was that supposed to hurt?"
Before Push could react, Luci charged. His chains snapped like whips, wrapping around Push’s legs and yanking him downward. Luci followed up with a devastating punch to Push’s face, the impact creating a massive crater and splattering blood across the barren ground.
Luci stood over him, his chains dripping with crimson. "I could do this all day," he said, mockingly wiping his hands.
Push’s body trembled as his wounds began to close. His face, disfigured from Luci’s strike, slowly regenerated, his black-and-white aura reigniting. "You’ll... see..." he rasped, his voice strained. "I’m not as weak... as you think."
"You’re regenerating slower than I expected," Luci said, inspecting his chains. "Want me to give you a head start? Or are you just stalling for time?"
Push roared, his aura flaring violently. "You talk too much! Hell Technique: Immense Gravity!"
A massive cylinder of gravity descended onto the moon, pressing down with unimaginable force. The lunar surface groaned and fractured under the strain, entire sections collapsing into themselves. Even Luci faltered.
Far below, on Earth, knights battling demons paused mid-swing as they gazed at the night sky.
"The moon... it’s gone?" one knight whispered, staring in disbelief.
"What’s happening up there?" another asked, fear creeping into his voice.
"Doesn’t matter!" their commander barked. "Focus on the battle at hand! Whatever’s going on up there, it’s out of our control!"
The knights reluctantly returned to their fight, but unease lingered as the once-bright moon remained shrouded in darkness.
Back on the moon, the battlefield was in ruins. Push hovered above the wreckage, surveying the damage with a grim smile. "I should check if Luci survived that..." he muttered.
Before he could finish, a massive chunk of the moon struck him, sending him spiraling into the void.
Luci stood atop a fractured piece of lunar rock, his chains glowing with molten heat. Without hesitation, he kicked the moon toward Push, the sheer force propelling it like a meteor.
Push barely managed to stabilize himself before the impact sent him flying again. "You think this is over?" he snarled, his aura blazing.
*The moon went up too high,* Luci said in his mind, leaping toward him. *But it’s close.*
Push raised his glowing sword. The shockwave tore through the surrounding debris, scattering fragments of the moon into space.
The clash between Luci and Push continued, the barren moon serving as their volatile battlefield. Dust and debris floated in the low-gravity environment, the surface fractured and scarred from their relentless battle.
Luci planted his feet and drove Push back with a devastating punch to the chest. The force sent Push hurtling across the moon’s surface, carving a deep trench before he stopped himself mid-flight, blood dripping from his mouth.
"You think you’ve won?" Push growled, struggling to rise.
"Not yet," Luci said with a smirk, his iron chains clinking as he swung them. "But I’ll get there."
The knights battling demons paused, their swords clashing against claws and infernal weapons. One knight looked up, his expression filled with awe. "The moon... it’s returned to its normal position."
Another knight frowned, narrowing his eyes. "I think it’s higher now... or am I imagining it?"
A third knight pointed skyward. "Look! Rocks are floating away from the moon. Could someone be fighting up there?"
"We’ll figure it out later!" their commander barked. "Focus on the battle before us!"
The knights snapped back to attention, their weapons ringing out as they continued their desperate struggle.
Back on the moon, Push rose into the void, his aura blazing as he raised his glowing weapon. His voice cracked with fury and desperation.
"This is the end, Luci!" he roared, blood spraying from his mouth. "I’ll destroy you and everything else! Hell Technique: Planetary Destruction!"
Above him, the void rippled violently as a massive asteroid appeared, its surface covered in a brilliant light. The rock’s size was incomprehensible, dwarfing the moon itself. Its shadow engulfed the Earth below, plunging the world into darkness.
Push coughed, his energy draining rapidly. "I’ll destroy the Earth... even if it costs me my life. And I know you won’t stop me, Luci." His grin widened, twisted with malice. "You don’t care about anyone but yourself."
The asteroid accelerated, its luminous coating increasing its speed.
Luci narrowed his eyes, watching the asteroid hurtle toward Earth. Despite his usual apathy, a memory surfaced in his mind: the taste of roasted chicken and the holy water he need to break the chains on Earth. The chicke’s flavors were unmatched, leaving an impression even on someone like him.
"I can’t let Earth be destroyed... not yet," Luci thought. His smirk returned as he launched himself toward the asteroid. "And their roasted chicken... unbeatable."
Push’s eyes widened in shock. "What are you doing, Luci? Are you seriously going to stop it?"
Luci didn’t answer. He collided with the asteroid, his body breaking through its glowing exterior. Cracks spread across the surface as Luci pushed himself through, splitting the asteroid in half with his sheer strength.
Push floated in disbelief, blood dripping from his mouth. "Impossible... you broke it in half?"
But Luci’s satisfaction was short-lived. He looked back and saw the two halves of the asteroid descending rapidly toward Earth. His smirk turned into a grimace.
"Damn it," he muttered.
Seeing his plan crumbling, Push bolted toward Luci, his weapon drawn. "I won’t let you stop this! If I can’t win, I’ll make sure you can’t either!"
Luci didn’t flinch. Instead, he grabbed the two halves of the asteroid, one in each hand. His muscles strained as he held them in place. His smirk returned, and he turned to Push. "Hey, Push, how about some smack smack for dinner?"
Before Push could react, Luci slammed the two asteroid halves together with Push caught in the middle. The impact sent a massive shockwave rippling through space, shaking the Earth below.
The moon shifted slightly in its orbit, tilting just enough to send debris scattering across its surface.
On Earth, the shockwave rippled through the sky. Knights and demons alike were thrown off their feet as the ground shook beneath them.
"What is this now?" one knight shouted, struggling to stand. "First the asteroid, now this shockwave?"
Another knight gazed at the sky, his expression filled with confusion and dread. "Whatever’s happening up there... it’s beyond us."
Far away, in the Mage Kingdom, a young wizard stared into a crystal orb, watching the events unfold.
"This kind of power... it’s not the knights," he said, turning to his mentor. "It must be something else entirely."
The older mage frowned. "No... it’s them. They’re with the young demon. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen something like this. It won’t be the last."
In a hall of stone and fire, a Viking lord sat upon his throne, surrounded by his warriors. He stared into the distance, his gaze sharp.
"The knights possess something—or someone—far stronger than we imagined," he muttered, his voice low. "Sooner or later, we’ll cross paths. And when we do..."
He trailed off, gripping the hilt of his axe tightly.
