"I already told you I’m not jealous. I was only curious is all." She snapped. I was glad the music was still playing and that it wasn’t so low, else people would have been able to overhear us.

"If you say so." I told her and she glared at me before glancing around, her eyes wandering over the staring crowd.

"I’m tired. When is this dance gonna end?" She grumbled, looking really adorable right now, but I refrained from pointing that out.

"Not yet, I’m yet to get enough of you."

Her cheeks reddened and she refused to meet my gaze till her cheeks returned to their normal color, then she was clearing her throat as she peered up at me.

"Aren’t people gonna find this weird? I was introduced as Damon’s mistress and yet I’ve been dancing with you." She questioned, head tilted a little in clear confusion.

"Nah, most of them know we all bed one woman most of the time. To them, you might be Damon’s mistress, but he shares you with us."

As expected, her cheeks colored again as she spluttered.

"T- that’s insane! I can’t believe everyone is thinking that about me right now. That’s messed up, irritating and so humiliating."

"Oh no." Sue whispered beside me and when I glanced at her, I realized that a bright stain was over the entire front of her dress, and my eyes dropped to the ground where a broken wine glass was on, then over to Nina’s faux horrified expression.

"I didn’t see you there, I’m so sorry!" She cried out as she tried reaching for Sue’s dress. However, Sue stepped away and pursed her lips.

"I saw you, you spilled the drink on me on purpose." She breathed out, confirming the exact thoughts in my head.

Anger began to churn within me and I had to fight against the feeling within me urging me to grab Nina’s throat right now from how furious I am. Unfortunately, my brothers and I have to treat our betrothed politely whenever in public, and that’s the only reason I’m not screaming at her right now.

At this point, the music had stopped and some people were gasping from surprise.

"I really didn’t! It was a mistake!" Nina cried out loudly, and more people were starting to notice the commotion.

I grabbed Nina’s hand and dragged her outside the hall then I abruptly let go of her to level her with a hard glare.

"What the hell was that?"

She shrugged, folding her arms. "Who is that wrench in there?" She demanded and I sighed, already having a headache. Interacting with Nina always gave me headaches.

"Why did you spill the drink on her dress?" I demanded and she rolled her eyes.

"Cause she was dancing with what belongs to me,"

I laughed a little. "Stop being delusional for a second, we’ll never get together no matter what."

She squared her jaw. "That’s what you think, but just wait and see."

I’ve never treated her well, and I still don’t understand what it is that she sees in me that made her keep trying her best to get together with me. Someone with little self worth would have demand from her father to call of this engagement between us. That’s something she shared with the rest of my brothers’ betrothed brides, they all lacked a little bit of self worth.

"I’m warning you right now, NIna, that shit you pulled in there, never do that again. Do you understand?" I bit out and she reluctantly nodded.

"Ugh, fine. So can we share a dance tonight at least?"

After that, I turned and went back into the hall.

Sue was no longer in the middle of the dance floor. She was beside my brother. Landon was holding her hand and about to kiss her hand, and I realized that he went to get her off the stage after I left with Nina. Beside them, Damon had his arms folded, while he tried to act like he was deep in thoughts, but I could see right through him.

I was about to say something when our father took the stage and began to give a clearly rehashed speech. I tuned most of his words out as my eyes kept darting towards Sue’s angelic face.

"I also want to announce that my sons will finally get married to their betrothed brides and take them as their chosen mates."

Our father announced, shocking me and my brothers to the very core. My mouth fell open from shock, one that mirrored the looks across my brothers’ face right now.

We were all caught off guard, because no way did we agree to such bullshit.

Which means my father had come to this conclusion without consulting us.

How dare him?

When I glanced over at Sue, her eyes were filled with surprise, and an unreadable expression was across her face.
