The Contract With Her Father's Billionaire Rival-Chapter 92. Suzie—Undeniable.
Suzie entered the car, her heart heaving with relief. She hadn’t realized how tightly she had been gripping her purse until her fingers started to cramp.
It had happened. The moment she had dreaded for hours had finally come and gone.
It was all over. At least for now.
She had reported Troy to the authorities, and now it was up to them to apprehend him.
And she couldn’t wait. Justice was near, it was finally within reach.
"Ready, ma’am?" the driver asked, pulling her out of her thoughts. He glanced at her in the rearview mirror, his eyebrows raised slightly in concern.
"Yes," she replied, shifting in the leather seat, her voice was steadier than she felt.
The engine rumbled to life, and the journey began. Suzie forced herself to breathe, her heart racing.
Three of Richard’s cars, full of bodyguards, had followed her to the station, flanking her like she was some important personnel. She appreciated the gesture, even if the added attention made her nerves prickle.
It had felt good to be protected like that. Respected like that. For once, she hadn’t felt like prey but like someone who mattered. If she had walked into the station in her regular outfit, she was sure the officers wouldn’t have responded so quickly.
Maybe they would have.
Maybe they wouldn’t have.
She would never know.
And she had no intention of testing that theory ever again.
Not only had Richard gotten her new outfits, but he had also arranged for Walt to stay home, cared for by a nanny. It was more help than she had ever dared to ask for.
It felt good to be on this other side—the side of luxury.
To not worry about food or safety. It was almost surreal, and she wished it could last a long time. That kind of peace had always felt like a dream—until now.
Her thoughts drifted to Richard, and her heart fluttered. There was something about him that made her feel safe, that made her trust Walter with him.
It had been awkward this morning after he had seen her on towel yesterday, but they had both acted maturely about it and didn’t make it a big deal.
Well, just Richard.
She wasn’t mature about it.
She had thought about it all through the night.
He had awakened something dangerous inside her, and it terrified her.
Very much so.
She knew she shouldn’t think about Richard that way, yet she couldn’t control her thoughts—the way they kept trailing back to him.
He was not in her league.
He was way out of her league.
Oh, she knew. But a girl could dream.
Her phone buzzed. She reached into her cute bag and saw D’s name on the screen. Her body stiffened slightly before she answered.
"Hey, D," she said.
"Jameson! Why are you not at work?" D’s voice was loud and accusatory.
"I’m sorry, D. I should have called, but I wasn’t in the right state of mind."
"I’m sorry doesn’t keep the business running, Jameson. You could have called."
"Yes, I should have," she admitted in a small voice.
"Well, that’s an extra shift with no pay," D said. In the background, she could hear someone calling for an order. "So tomorrow you—"
"I can’t just yet," she interrupted, bracing herself for his outburst.
But instead, his voice softened with concern. "Are you alright? Is everything okay? How’s Walt?"
Suzie’s chest fluttered with delight at his concern. "Walt is fine. We’re just facing some security issues, and I need a break for now. I’m sorry, D."
"It’s okay," D said gently. "Take as much time as you need. Just be good."
"Alright." She smiled, even though he couldn’t see her. "Thank you, D."
"You’re welcome. Just let me know how everything goes." 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
"Sure. Thanks," she said, ending the call.
She heaved a sigh of relief and settled deeper into the seat. It felt good not to worry about Walt or Troy, even if only for a moment.
"We’re here, ma’am," the driver said, once again pulling her from her thoughts.
"Thank you," she said, stepping out of the car.
Her stomach growled as she made her way into the Safehouse. It lived up to its name, with hefty guards patrolling the grounds.
She punched in the code, and the door chimed open.
"Hello?" she called as she entered.
The room was quiet, and she wondered if the nanny hadn’t heard her. She walked to the white room and slightly opened the door.
She blinked, her heart pounding at the sight before her.
Richard was lying on the bed, with Walter sleeping on his chest. The area around the bed was a mess of unfinished plates of food.
Judging by Walter’s smeared lips, he had fallen asleep mid-meal.
Suzie’s heart tightened with emotion. Richard was clutching Walter even in sleep, and Walter held onto Richard like he was afraid he might run away.
It was beautiful, and it made her weirdly glad.
She snapped out of her trance and bent to pick up a plate. As she did, Richard opened his eyes.
He looked at Walter first, then at her. "Hey, you’re back."
His voice was low and hoarse from sleepiness, sending an unexpected chill down her spine. She cleared her throat and took a step back.
"Yes, I am."
Richard gently laid Walt on his side and stood. His shirt was rumpled and stained with oil.
Despite the disheveled look, the shirt clung to him, outlining his muscles. His eyes were soft, and his black hair tousled.
She looked away.
What was wrong with her? Why was she analyzing this man?
"How was it?" he asked, adjusting his collar. "How did it go?"
"Good," she replied, her voice tight. "I was able to make the report."
"Nice." He nodded with a smile. "I’ll follow up with the detective and make sure things move quickly."
"Thank you. I appreciate this."
Walter stirred on the bed, and both of them turned to look. But he didn’t wake.
"How was the nanny? Has she gone?" Suzie asked, collecting the rest of the plates.
"Well, I had to send her away," Richard replied.
Suzie straightened. "Send her away? Why?"
Richard chuckled. "Walter didn’t want her. He kept crying, so I let her go."
Her heart softened but her eyes widended. "Oh goodness. So you stayed back because of him?"
"Yes, I did. It was nothing. I was free today anyway. Besides, I got to spend time with him."
Suzie shook her head. "You shouldn’t have done that. You could have called me, and I will come back home. I could’ve taken him with me."
"And leave me all alone in the house? No way," he laughed.
She couldn’t believe he was this thoughtful. No one, except Nicolette, had ever done something like that for her.
And she was touched.
"Thank you, really," she said, her voice cracking with emotion.
"It’s okay." His smile deepened.
"I hope he wasn’t too much trouble?"
"Oh, not at all," Richard laughed. "He was really sweet."
She smiled, her heart pounding with something she couldn’t name. They stood there for a moment before her eyes dropped to his stained shirt.
He followed her gaze and, without hesitation, he removed it. "We had a little tug of war when he didn’t want to eat," he said with a laugh.
The sound was warm, disarming, and it made her heart stumble again.
She laughed too, though hers was a little tight. Her eyes traveled to his bare chest, and she swallowed hard.
Richard seemed unaware of her reaction as he continued talking. "I’ll just go grab a new clean shirt."
She nodded quickly, her mouth dry at the sight of him. He was breathtaking, with a chiseled chest that looked like it belonged on a sculpture.
Her eyes lingered too long, and when he caught her staring, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
He chuckled and gave her a knowing look. It wasn’t a mocking look, just amused—and maybe a little flattered.
"I’ll be back," he said, then left the room.
"What is wrong with you?" she muttered to herself once he was gone.
Trying to shake off the feelings, she gathered all the plates and took them to the kitchen.
Her stomach growled again, but she decided she needed to take a bath first. She returned to the room just as Richard’s phone started ringing.
She ran to it, not wanting the sound to wake Walter.
The phone kept ringing, so she left the room altogether. She approached the stairs but didn’t climb them at first.
"Mr. Allens?" she called but got no response.
Maybe he couldn’t hear her?
She climbed the stairs and made her way up. She knocked, then pushed the door open when she found it unlocked.
"Mr. Allens—"
Suzie froze, her eyes wide, as Richard stepped out of the bathroom completely naked.
His cock immediately stood at the sight of her, and her breath caught.
For a split second, she stared—actually stared—before snapping out of it.
"I’m sorry!" she gasped, dropping the phone on the bed and fleeing.
She was in shock.
And it wasn’t just because she had seen him naked.
It was because of her body—the way it had reacted with sudden pleasure. The way her panties had instantly soaked.
So terrifying... yet so undeniable.
