The CEO's Wife Is Super Charming-Chapter 377 - 374: Nancy
In a dim cave, Elliana Lyle and her companion squeezed through a crevice in the rocks following a woman who seemed ghostly. As they ventured deeper, the crevice widened, and after about two more minutes, it turned into a cave!
There was a crack beneath their feet that connected to the seawater. The dim cave made it hard to see anything clearly, but luckily it was daytime outside, allowing some light to filter through the crevice for a general view!
The cave wasn’t too large nor too small, but because it was only connected to the outside by a single crevice, it was indeed quite dark inside. Her clothes were soaked through and were dripping onto the ground. The breeze blowing through the crevice made her shiver from the cold.
Suddenly, the woman ignited a pile of things from a corner of the wall, and the firelight immediately illuminated the entire cave!
The woman who looked ghostly had hair hanging loosely around her face, which was eerily pale. She looked at the two of them, opened her mouth, and after a long pause, finally spoke, "Don’t be afraid, they can’t find this place. You’re also here because you escaped, right?"
"Did you escape from inside too?" Elliana Lyle asked bravely.
"Mm!"
Joy Lyle, seeing that the woman posed no threat, gave her a gentle push further inside and walked to the entrance herself.
The woman said, "Hey, you don’t need to keep watch. They can’t find this place."
"If they come down, it’s only a matter of time before this place is discovered," replied Joy Lyle, but she thought even if they did come down, it would take a while. She looked at Elliana Lyle, who was drenched, and also moved further inside. The wind blowing through the crevice was rather chilly.
The woman stoked the fire, and only then did Elliana Lyle notice that deeper in the cave, the woman had prepared a lot of firewood! How long had she been staying here? There was a large spot of ash on the ground, with traces dragged across.
Traces disappeared into the stone crevice connecting to the sea, likely from disposing of excess ash!
She took off her clothes to wring them dry and moved closer to the fire.
Joy Lyle hung both of their clothes on rocks nearby, warming her hands by the fire and asked, "How long have you been hiding here?"
The woman shook her head, "I don’t know. I didn’t run far when people started chasing me. Later, I jumped down from above and injured my leg, so I hid here."
As she spoke, she extended her left leg and rolled up her pants. A large wound was visible, not deep, but with clear signs of inflammation!
From the wall behind her, she grabbed a piece of cloth, seemingly torn from her clothing, and wrapped the wound, tying it securely on both sides. It was thoroughly bandaged, indicating it wasn’t the first time!
"I just got soaked by the waves while changing my bandages. I heard you two jump down, and that’s how I saw you."
"You’ve been hiding here for so long. Are you sure they won’t find this place?"
"It’s fine. That entrance is only visible during low tide. Once the tide comes in, the entrance disappears. I discovered this cave from underwater. The tide’s coming in soon, and they won’t find this place."
Elliana Lyle warmed her clothes, taking out Eleanor Llyod’s phone from inside. This phone had just gotten wet the day before, and now it had accompanied her for a swim in the sea.
It was still dripping water, presumably entirely unusable now!
Joy Lyle threw another log onto the fire and asked, "Won’t the smoke from the fire be noticed outside?"
"No, during the time they weren’t around, I checked. This cave connects to a large area of sea bird nests outside, like a beehive. You can’t really tell!"
"I’m Joy Lyle, and she’s my sister. What’s your name?"
"You can just call me Nancy."
