The CEO's Wife Is Super Charming-Chapter 290 - 287: Luna’s Revelation
As the outside grew quieter, Bella’s fear intensified.
She had to leave, she couldn’t stay here any longer!
Carefully lifting the cloth covering the sofa, she peered outside cautiously, seemingly finding no one.
Only then did she muster the courage to crawl out from under the sofa, glancing at the half-open door before fleeing blindly.
There weren’t many people in the office at night, especially executives, so she pressed the button for the first floor after entering the elevator.
Time passed slowly, as if each floor was an entire century.
Finally, with a ding, the elevator doors opened, revealing a relatively empty first-floor lobby with only a few receptionists.
The dust from under the rarely cleaned sofa combined with her sweat-streaked face left her looking disheveled, like she’d been through an ordeal, causing the receptionists to give her strange looks.
Keeping her head down, she ran towards the company’s main door. Just as she stepped outside, a dark figure fell from above.
It landed heavily on the ground.
Right in front of her.
The dark figure was none other than a person—it was... Kelly Wright!
Those wide-open eyes were filled with terror, staring directly at her, making her skin crawl.
"It’s nothing to do with me..." she muttered, before stumbling away, heading towards the employee dormitories.
After running for an unknown length of time, she reached the dormitory, where Nancy was cooking with a small pot.
Hearing the commotion, Nancy turned around, and was taken aback when she saw her, incredulously saying, "Bella? You... what’s going on?"
"Nancy! You should go home quickly." With that, she hurriedly packed her things, grabbing only her wallet before running out.
Even though Nancy came out chasing after her, she didn’t look back, knowing that if she didn’t run, her fate wouldn’t be much better than Kelly Wright’s.
...
―――July Media Office.
After hearing everything, Elliana Lyle’s emotions were difficult to calm.
She had already come to a conclusion, Nancy’s disappearance was directly related to Roland.
Looking at the pale-faced Bella, she frowned and asked, "Why didn’t you tell Nancy about this?"
Even if you didn’t tell her, at least take her with you, then she wouldn’t have gone missing.
Swallowing, Bella said, "Didn’t I say? Nancy wasn’t there when I went back to the dormitory."
The version Elliana heard didn’t completely match what Bella recalled.
She didn’t dare admit that she went to Shane Southwell’s office because she wanted to stay, nor did she dare confess that she abandoned Nancy out of fear.
This was a lifetime shadow for her; perhaps if she had left with Nancy, this wouldn’t have happened.
For her, Nancy was probably already dead.
"I hope you’re not lying to me." Leaving these words, Elliana walked out of the office.
In the middle of recalling some details, Luna quickly followed, saving the recording on the recorder along the way.
In the car.
Elliana buried her head in her hands, looking extremely distressed.
Luna sat down carefully and said to the driver, "Let’s go."
Then, she pressed the button for the soundproof and fogging partition, blocking off sound and sight between the front and back.
Patting Elliana’s shoulder, she said, "Buddy, I have something to tell you, but don’t mention it to Norman Bennett."
"What is it?" Elliana raised her head abruptly, seeing Luna’s complex expression.
Instantly, a sense of unease flooded her heart.
Luna pursed her lips, finally speaking, "It seems Shane Southwell... isn’t dead."
"What?"
Although she had suspected, hearing it from Luna was still quite shocking.
She frowned and asked, "Is it John Walters?"
If John Walters was indeed Shane Southwell, then what was his purpose in returning? To seek revenge on her? Or was there a bigger conspiracy?
Luna nodded, sighed, and said, "Norman Bennett has been suspicious of John Walters for a long time, even earlier than your suspicions, but at the time, he didn’t consider him as Shane Southwell."
"Do you know why Norman made you leave the entertainment industry and arranged so many people to protect you?"
She didn’t know before, but now she did.
Before she could think further, Luna spoke again, "It’s still unclear if John Walters is Shane Southwell. Since the ’death’ of Shane Southwell, a system error caused the files to be lost; even DNA couldn’t be verified now."
"The only test possible is between John Walters and Cameron Southwell’s family, but there’s no way to test it now. John Walters is extremely cautious, with many bodyguards in the villa, not a single hair of his can be found."
Elliana clenched her fists and said through gritted teeth, "Can’t we just arrest him for testing?"
Luna shrugged helplessly, "It’s useless, the files are completely lost; even if there’s a father-son relationship with Cameron Southwell, it could be claimed he’s an illegitimate child or whatever, and Rosy Brooke has left the country and changed nationality."
This move almost confirmed that John Walters was indeed Shane Southwell.
Luna’s point was clear; without evidence, even if they knew, they couldn’t do anything to him!
Seeing her look of rage, Luna comforted, "Don’t worry too much; Galen Collins said he has a plan. Let’s wait a bit. If it doesn’t work out, I have a plan too."
This intrigued her, and she asked, "What plan?"
Luna motioned for her to come closer with a gesture.
Then Luna whispered by her ear, leaving her shocked. She quickly replied, "Let’s wait for Galen’s plan."
Luna shrugged and said, "That’s fine too. I’m thinking of heading over to the Red Mansion for a turn, you go back first. I’ll find you later; you don’t need to worry about these things. You can’t do anything even if you know, and don’t tell Norman I told you, okay?"
With those words, Luna pressed the partition’s soundproof button and said, "Driver, pull over."
After Luna left, Elliana was alone in the back seat, her desire to kill Shane Southwell was undeniable now.
He murdered her mother, Nancy’s life was uncertain, she had to make Shane Southwell and the entire Roland pay the price!
But after piecing together what Bella said with reality, she realized one thing.
No trade, no harm.
It’s impossible for the Southwell Family to do such things without someone backing them.
Who is the mastermind behind all this?
She recalled something—that island, where women missing from all around the world were reportedly held.
And back then, she didn’t even check out what island it was or what sea it was in, perhaps... Nancy was there!
Now that Shane Southwell returned to the country as John Walters, the agent for Will Global Films.
Could it be possible that Will Global Films had some involvement in this?
She hardly dared to think further, fearing the implications were beyond what she could imagine.
And all she wanted was to find Nancy, to bring those people to justice, or perhaps, as Luna suggested.
Only as a last resort would she follow through with that.
