Chapter 47 -47: Drunken Night_1

The victory celebration was held in an ancient castle.

As the host of the banquet, Mr. Henry invited royalty and aristocrats from H Country, attracting high-profile guests from all walks of life.

A red carpet was laid at the entrance with photographers on both sides.

Xia Qingtian felt somewhat restrained upon viewing the dignified and luxurious scene.

After all, they were not in their homeland, and she was concerned about embarrassing Bo Jingyan.

Sensing her nervousness, Bo Jingyan lowered his gaze and his deep, sensual voice sounded, “Don’t be afraid, just follow me.”

“Okay.” Xia Qingtian took a deep breath, and as she looked up, she met his deep, dark eyes, her heart skipping a beat.

Bo Jingyan wore a black suit with a dark red tie that evening. He looked upright, towering, and irresistibly charismatic, drawing the attention of everyone present.

Xia Qingtian quickly averted her gaze and followed him into the venue.

The power couple immediately drew a lot of attention.

The photographers recognized Bo Jingyan and as soon as they noticed him, they pointed their cameras at them.

The grand banquet hall was magnificent, with a golden glow. A small music stage was built in the middle of the castle where a band was playing.

“Mr. Bo, Miss Xia, this way, please.”

The hostess led them in. Xia Qingtian took Bo Jingyan’s arm and they sat at a beautifully decorated round table at the front.

Following Xia Qingtian’s arrival, many influential individuals and commercial tycoons also took their seats.

The banquet welcomed many guests; some communicated in the language of H Country while others spoke in English.

Xia Qingtian gathered from the conversations that Bo Jingyan had signed a billion-dollar deal with Mr. Henry, and that many others also wanted to partner with him.

So many people came over to toast Bo Jingyan that Xia Qingtian also ended up drinking more than she had meant to, finding her head spinning toward the end.

If she continued drinking, she’d end up sleeping the night here!

“I’m feeling a bit dizzy. I’m going to get some air,” said Xia Qingtian, whispering into Bo Jingyan’s ear as he took a sip of his drink.

Upon hearing her words, Bo Jingyan turned towards her, put down his glass, and in a soft, deep voice said, “There’s a garden in the back. You can rest there. I’ll come find you later.”

“Okay.” Xia Qingtian nodded, adjusted her dress, and left the banquet early.

Bo Jingyan watched her leave, his gaze intensifying. Just as he was about to return to his conversation, someone called his name.

The castle had a very large garden in its backyard. There were rows of tall trees, an outdoor tea section, and flowers blooming everywhere, their intoxicating scent spilling out into the air. Wide patches of green lawn were pleasing to the eye.

There was also a swinging vine chair in the center of the garden, swaying gently in the wind.

Upon seeing this, Xia Qingtian walked to the swing.

Sitting on it, Xia Qingtian kicked off the ground lightly, setting the swing in motion.

She sat swaying on the swing, head tilted back, looking up at the sparkling night sky. Her fair, clean face bathed in the moonlight, enhancing her beauty.

The night view in H Country was beautiful with twinkling stars decorating the sky and the bright moon hanging above, creating a stunning sight.

The breeze blew on her face, bringing with it a gentle chill. Xia Qingtian sighed contentedly.

She closed her eyes, savoring the serene beauty.

It seemed like half an hour had passed.

Bo Jingyan had finally finished taking care of his matters and got up to find Xia Qingtian.

When he reached the garden, he immediately spotted the woman swinging gently.

A pair of black high heels lay in front of the woman, her slender, bare feet swaying in the air. As she lay back on the swing, her head tilted back — half her face was obscured by the tree branches, keeping it hidden in the shadows.

Bo Jingyan stared at her blurry face, a sense of familiarity creeping in….the woman from the hotel that night…she was just like her…

In the dimly lit room, he could only make out half her face as she barged into his room without a warning.

With these thoughts, he couldn’t resist moving closer to Xia Qingtian, their breaths getting louder with each step. He found his gaze transfixed on her, unable to tear his eyes away from her soft lips.

Just as his face was about to touch Xia Qingtian’s, a cold breeze blew past causing Xia Qingtian to shiver. She opened her eyes immediately only to see a face very close to her own…

Xia Qingtian stared at him, slightly dazed, blinking her beautiful eyes that shone with a hint of intoxication. Her fair cheeks were tinged with a hint of red.

She was drunk, not quite understanding what was happening, so she just stared at him.

Though it was too dark to see clearly, but the silhouette…was it Bo Jingyan?

What was he doing?

They were very close, their breaths mingling. Bo Jingyan felt a strange sensation creep over him, and he found himself lowering his head…

“Bo!”

Just then, a shadow sprang out, calling his name at the most inappropriate moment.

Bo Jingyan’s movements froze, his thoughts abruptly pulled back. He straightened up and turned around.

Standing behind him was Luo Nainai, dressed in a glamorous gown, her face tense. Her hands hung by her sides, tightly clutching her skirt to reveal two strained veins on the backs of her hands.

She suppressed her anger, approaching Bo Jingyan step by step, a sweet smile on her face. “Dad needs you for something; he sent me to find you.”

After speaking, she quickly shot a glance at Xia Qingtian, filled with malice.

By this time, Xia Qingtian had also snapped back to reality. Noticing Bo Jingyan walk away, she felt her heart pounding and her cheeks flaming up.

Was she mistaken?

Earlier… was he trying to kiss her?

“I understand,” answered Bo Jingyan in a neutral voice. He quickly regained his usual cool demeanor.

After saying this, he turned around to look at Xia Qingtian. His dark eyes flashed at different emotion. In a low voice, he said, “I’ll be right back. Just wait for me here.”

“Okay.” Xia Qingtian replied softly, her heart was still racing as she reminiscence the incident earlier.

Bo Jingyan stared deeply at her for a moment, then turned around and left without looking at Luo Nainai.

Seeing the obvious difference in his behavior towards Xia Qingtian and herself, Luo Nainai, who grew up like a princess, felt a wave of anger rising inside her.

After seeing Bo Jingyan leave, Xia Qingtian lost interest in staying in the garden. She did not want to share the same space with Luo Nainai, so she left in the opposite direction.

Seeing her leave, Luo Nainai followed her and sneered, “Women like you, without any family background, think that they can move up in society by relying on men because of their good looks? How ridiculous!”
