PRECAP

"I m not done, Nathan Anderson and just to remind you, I can stand up for myself very goddamn well!"

She interrupted him in the halfway and then caught hold of Kian's hand and walked away from there.

Kian let his wife take him away as he tilted his head back a little and smirked at Nathan, standing there with shock.

"That is only left of you to hide behind your wife's skirt now, Kian Randall!"

"Please, let's go, Kian!!! There are people watching us!"

She squeezed his hand, feeling the eyes of people nearby on them...on her and on him.

But it was the last stroke and Kian pulled his hand out of her hold and stormed towards Nathan to land a punch.

The event was coming to an end and Cynthia led her ex-husband up the stairs to the stage to make the final bidding of the night.

People cheered for them. There were whispers from them how good the duo looked...the perfect couple.

A perfect heiress with the multi Billionaire. Both families going back to historical fame.

While Pauline was just a commoner who worked as his secretary, bringing him his morning coffee.

She heard those gossips. Twenty-seven years of marriage and still people could not let go of her inferior background.

She stood on the front row of the crowds, watching Cynthia help her husband opening the card.

She looked away, not having it in her to keep her tough, brave mask on all throughout the night.

And all of a sudden, in the flash of seconds, she heard a shock stricken scream.

She fluttered her eyes up and saw Daniel losing balance. Cynthia struggling to keep him still.

People ran up to help and Pauline remained still. People pushing past her, thrashing her to the side.

Kian looked up before his punch could land on Nathan. They all did and saw the scene. Nathan pushed Kian aside and ran in the direction of the stage.

"What happened!"

Tinsley uttered out, holding Kian's hand, being afraid and shock. She saw how Daniel lost it.

Nathan got to the stage but then he saw Pauline, standing near it, still, stuck to her spot, eyes wide open.

He decided against following his uncle who was being taken away from the stage and got down to support his aunt.

"Hey??"

He got closer and shook her shoulder. She took a moment or two to respond but when she did, she was engulfed in a hug by Nathan.

"Everything will be alright!"

He promised her as she let herself lose on his chest. She cried her heart out for feeling every kind of emotion.

It ranged from feeling jealous to getting neglected by her husband, being angry at him and now coming to the realization that she might end up losing him tonight altogether.

Tinsley walked up to them, followed by Kian behind her. Nathan looked up at them.

"I will see her. You go to Daniel!"

She offered, and he looked hesitant at first but gave in. Pauline hugged Tinsley and cried in her arms. Kian excuses himself for not being able to hear the cries.

Nathan left for to check up on his uncle. The crowd started to head out too and slowly and slowly the hall became crystal empty with Tinsley under the huge chandelier, hugging Pauline to herself.

After a while, Nathan came out along with Cynthia. Pauline stood up and walked up to her cousin.

"He is fine. Everything's under control! The doctor said."

Nathan declared and Pauline could not help feel the ease. She melted in Nathan's arms in relief.

Tinsley sighed too. Kian remained adamant, standing beside his wife. Cynthia strode forward and stopped before Pauline.

"I always knew...always knew you were not fit to be his wife, ever."

Cynthia started. Everyone remained silent, watching her rant everything upon Pauline as if it was her fault from the beginning.

"Do not tell me how to be a good wife, Cynthia. If you were one, then your ex-husband would not have come to another woman...me to find love when you were both married!"

Pauline retorted back in sass. Cynthia was fuming in anger by that time. She was a very tall woman, towering over Pauline.

"Still you could not save him. He was safer with me than he was ever with you!"

Cynthia vehemently accused Pauline. The two women seemed as if they were on each others neck.

"If I did not care about him, I would have never called you here. And I think that very much sums everything, Cynthia."

Pauline peeked in her eyes, deeply, stating that. She wanted to let Cynthia know, how much it hurt her to call her here.

How much it hurt to see her husband...the love of her life with his other wife...

Before Cynthia could say anything anymore, Nathan stepped in between. He held Cynthia's hand.

"It's enough. You are not needed here anymore!"

Cynthia could not believe her ears that this little nephew of hers was asking her to leave today.

"You are asking me to leave?"

She asked him, with a frown. Nathan did not flinch and stood still. He did not leave her wrist either.

"Do you know Pauline why Nathan, Daniel's sister, late Danisha's son is the heir of Anderson Corp?"

Cynthia intervened, cruelly with a soft evil smile plastered on her face.

Tinsley and Kian were silently watched the entire drama unfolding before them. Nathan and Pauline remained unspoken.

"Because Daniel does not believes you to be worthy to be carrying the Anderson heir. "

Cynthia dropped the bomb and it exploded in all the right places. Nathan's hold slipped from Cynthia's hand.

"More than twenty years of marriage and no child. It sums up your marriage pretty much!"

Cynthia went on. She wanted to inflict hurt and dissent upon Pauline and she could see that it was working.

"Perhaps you could not satisfy Daniel as much as a street whore!"

No further words were spoken or heard anymore as a tight skin slapping sound echoed in the room afterwards.

Cynthia held her right cheek after Pauline slapped her in the flash of a second. When Cynthia was about to open her mouth again to speak, Pauline landed another slap.

Everyone was astonished and speechless. They had no words left to utter out.

"Get this woman out of my fucking sight!"

Pauline commanded and she did not have to speak out twice as Nathan held Cynthia and led her towards the door.

"Oh and Cynthia! It is not me who could not keep Daniel satiate. It was you so he came running to me!"

Pauline mocked and Cynthia fumed, storming out of the Anderson Residency. Kian and Tinsley kept to themselves, not knowing what to do or say.

________________________________________________

It had been past midnight when Kian slipped under the duvet, joining his wife on the bed after freshening up.

"That was quite a show, huh?"

He let out, laying flat beside her. Tinsley kept her phone back on the nightstand. She was texting Madison about everything tonight.

She got closer to her husband. He opened up his arm for her to get in. She slipped in, laying her head on his chest.

"Cynthia drew the attention from you and Nathan to her and everything rest that followed after."

Tinsley muttered, drawing circles over his naked chest. He chuckled.

"Is that a bad thing?"

She shook her head in denial. But she did not like the fact that if it had not happened, Kian would have landed that punch on Nathan and things would have taken a u-turn altogether.

"Then why are you not saying anything?"

He questioned. She did not answer him right away and instead kept laying in silence and peace.

"I do not like you fighting people!"

It was a statement that Kian understood very clearly that she meant it and did not like it at all.

He did not dare say anything else. He kept quiet, running his fingers over his wife's smooth red hairs.

Nobody spoke another word after that. They remained static.

"I still can't hold the fact how much strong Pauline is. She had been strong ever since she married Daniel and had to maintain it. I know now why!"

She spoke to herself. Kian could understand that. For a woman like Pauline who belonged from the middle class, it was hard to stick in this upper class.

"My mother nor I would be ever as bold like her to speak that out like that. I could not even see or bear to see you with another woman that is not me."

She let out, honestly, rising up to look at Kian's eyes. Their eyes locked into each other.

"Neither I you with another man!"

Kian replied, still his eyes fixed on hers. She pecked his lips and then leaned back on his chest.

It was then she got reminded of who was that woman, she had been meaning to ask, Kian was talking to the entire evening.
