The Celibate Tycoon Has Fallen-Chapter 53: Afraid He’ll Get Addicted
Nancy heard the familiar voice coming from the other end.
Her nose tingled with emotion, but she held back, "Jasper? How come it’s you answering the phone?"
"Hmm, I have some business with her."
Nancy was just testing the waters, provoked by Shawn’s words. She didn’t expect Jasper to answer himself. "When are you coming back? I can’t sleep without you at home."
"I’ll come back once things are settled." Jasper didn’t even ask Nancy why she was calling Yelena.
She had to make up a lie, "I saw you rush out, did something happen? I couldn’t reach you, so I called down the numbers in your call log. Jasper, whose number is this?"
Yelena leaned closer to Jasper, nearly resting on his shoulder to eavesdrop more clearly.
Jasper glanced at her, his thin lips parted slightly, "Yelena Hughes."
He watched her face stiffen, and she looked up at him.
Nancy’s voice carried a sad tinge, "Didn’t you promise me not to see her? Are you together? Jasper, will you come back, please?"
"Something happened to her, I’m taking her to the hospital."
Nancy wanted to say no, but Josephine arrived just in time, grasping her shoulder tightly and giving it a firm squeeze.
Nancy swallowed her breath, "Is she okay? Since we know each other, we can’t just leave her to die."
"It’s best that you think that way."
Yelena saw him hand over the phone, ending the call, and asked with an unclear expression, "Why did you tell Miss Alden? She’ll hold an even bigger grudge against me."
"If I hadn’t told her, would she not know I came for you?"
Jasper’s gaze swept across Yelena’s face, his eyes deeply profound, the words ’mystery shrouded’ perfectly played out.
He understood all of Nancy’s little tricks.
He just didn’t delve into them.
But his indulgence almost cost Yelena her life.
On the other end, Nancy clutched her phone tightly, tears streaming down as Josephine wiped them away, "Miss, now’s not the time to cry."
"He didn’t even bother to hide it, he really went to see Yelena Hughes."
Josephine was worried about something else, "Have you thought that the young master probably already knows you sent Yelena to The Sovereign Club, and likely knows you threatened her with drugs."
Nancy stopped crying, "Why? Would Yelena dare tell him?"
"I went to see Henry Louis today, he kept his mouth shut, didn’t dare say anything, but his arms and legs were broken."
Nancy shuddered, "What do you mean?"
"I wasn’t sure before, but after the young master answered your call with Yelena’s phone, I felt something was off. The young master didn’t make it clear, which means he’s reluctant to hold it against you, but you need to think about what to do next."
Nancy fell silent. Yes, she really needed to calm down and think.
At this hour, there weren’t many cars on the road, and Yelena glanced out the window, "Please just drop me off at home."
Without Jasper’s instruction, the driver didn’t dare move.
The man beside her scratched his nose, "You really stink."
"..."
Yelena felt a bit embarrassed, her sweat almost dried under her clothes, feeling like she was almost spoiled. "Then drop me off by the side of the road, I can get a taxi home."
Jasper took the coat and exposed Yelena’s legs and shoulders.
"Go out dressed like that, maybe you’ll save some money on a cab."
Yelena crossed her arms, luckily the car wasn’t cold. As the car pulled into Mount Arden Villa, before getting out, Jasper tossed the coat back to her.
Yelena followed behind him into the house, the man changing shoes at the entrance.
She stood still, "The injury on Madeline Forest’s hand, was it caused by your dog biting her?"
"Yes, she recklessly rushed in. It’s lucky that her neck wasn’t bitten through."
Yelena felt even more uncomfortable, having bonded with Madeline but not to the point they’d risk their lives for each other. Warmth and sourness filled her heart.
"She actually found The Summit Gardens."
Jasper placed a pair of new slippers at Yelena’s feet, pure white and fluffy.
His face wore a cold expression as he straightened up, "Don’t forget, I’m the one who saved your life."
Jasper didn’t want to talk more now, her body was too smelly.
He led Yelena into the bathroom upstairs, afraid she’d dirty the floor, and had her stand in the bathtub.
"Undress."
Yelena didn’t move, "I smell, I know, I’ll wash myself."
Jasper turned on the hot water, spraying it directly on her. Just as Yelena was about to speak, the shower water hit her face and she shut her eyes tightly.
"Weren’t you very adaptable before? You wore that tattered qipao, and now you can’t manage?"
Yelena turned her face away, wiping her hand across it, her nose stinging from being choked, "You said Master Thorne’s qipao can’t be worn casually, I’m afraid he’ll get... obsessed, and keep me locked up."
If that happened, she’d be ruined for life!
Jasper drenched her hair completely, squeezing shampoo onto her head, and Yelena dutifully bent down to wash it off.
"Aren’t you afraid he’ll roast you alive?"
The temperature had been set to the highest, a few minutes later, she might have died in there.
"What would that make, roast chicken?"
"Young master, your words are too mean."
Yelena wanted to get up, but Jasper held her down by the neck, "Just keep washing."
The foam from the shampoo was delicate, snowy white, streaming over Yelena’s front and back. The deepest imprint on Jasper’s mind was the blood red word ’drug.’
He had to admit, he felt empty inside at that moment, as if afraid of something.
When Yelena straightened up, her face was clean, simple yet stunning, "Can you leave? I want to bathe."
"I can’t watch?"
Desire rolled in his throat, even his eyes and brows holding a predatory allure.
Yelena wished she could cover his eyes, "No, you can’t watch."
With such scant fabric, covering practically nothing at all, Jasper glanced over, and those two portions of cloth might as well have not been there.
He pushed Yelena against the wall, her arm pressing against his chest, "Young master, aren’t you a gentleman?"
"Are you joking with me?" Jasper’s fingers traced over Yelena’s lips, "Are you mocking me?"
"I wouldn’t dare, I just mean I barely escaped death, I thought you’d let me rest."
Jasper pressed against Yelena’s nose, her body hot, her breath tangling with his.
"Just lie still without moving, isn’t that what you’re best at?"
Yelena refused flatly, "I won’t."
