The Celibate Tycoon Has Fallen-Chapter 135: Step on Him Hard
The lollipop rolled to Yelena Hughes’ hand, and she found it scorching, so she withdrew her hand.
The waiter came in with another round of dishes, but Anne Hughes held her chopsticks without reaching out to pick any food.
"Sis, where are those people?"
"I was afraid you’d feel uncomfortable seeing them, so I didn’t bring them over. They weren’t anyone important," Jasper Yale answered the question for Yelena Hughes, "They won’t have a chance to appear in front of you again."
"Anne, it’s all in the past now, just forget about it."
Anne Hughes mustn’t let Yelena worry about her anymore, she forced a slight smile, "Okay, I’ll forget all about it."
Yelena had been sitting for a long time, and she felt a bit sore in her waist, so she wanted to cross her legs.
But the space under the table was small, and she accidentally kicked the man opposite her.
Yelena wanted to apologize, but seeing Jasper Yale eating earnestly without reaction, she swallowed her words.
She picked a piece of wasabi snail into her mouth, and under the table, the man’s leg reached over.
The warmth radiated through his suit pants, pressing against Yelena’s calf. She wanted to pull back, but Jasper hooked her leg over.
Yelena almost got dragged under the table. She braced her hands on the table edge, barely sitting up properly.
After eating, Yelena excused herself to go to the restroom.
She grabbed her phone, put on her shoes, and walked quickly towards the cashier.
"Hello, I’d like to pay the bill."
The waiter knew which private room she was from and didn’t even bring out the bill, "It’s already been paid."
Yelena responded with an "Oh" and had to put away her phone.
Hailey Jenkins had taken Nancy Alden back home, leaving the driver behind. Yelena originally planned to take a taxi herself.
But Jasper looked back at her and said, "Get in the car."
She pulled Anne along, but then saw Jasper open the front passenger seat door, "It’s a bit crowded for three people to sit in the back."
Yelena didn’t catch the implication in Jasper’s words, she nodded in agreement, "Anne and I will sit in the back."
She instinctively pulled Anne to get in, but unexpectedly, Jasper single-handedly pulled Anne away and stuffed her into the front.
"Fasten your seatbelt."
After saying this, he shut the car door forcefully.
Just as Yelena was about to speak, Jasper pressed her head down and pushed her into the car. Anne obediently looked for the seatbelt, "Sis, it’s very comfortable in the front, spacious."
The driver noticed her awkwardness, fumbling around without success, so he politely leaned over to help. "Let me do it."
Yelena sat behind Anne; both of them dressed warmly. Jasper watched over Yelena like a mother caring for her child, looking at his sister.
"Anne, it’s too hot. Take off your coat."
"You’re quite hot too," Jasper said, lifting Yelena’s arm and taking off one of her sleeves.
"I’m... I’m okay."
Yelena wore a long coat, it wasn’t that hot.
But the coat was still taken off, and Yelena wanted to hold the clothes in her hands, yet Jasper made her lean back, covering her with the coat.
Yelena wanted to say that Young Master Yale was indeed good at taking care of people.
But before she could delve into that thought, Jasper’s hand slipped inside her clothing.
The coat became the perfect cover, allowing him to do as he pleased.
"Sis."
Anne turned suddenly from the front, and Yelena sat upright, her back stiffened.
Jasper’s arm was still in front of her body.
She instinctively lowered her head to glance, fortunately, it didn’t seem too obvious.
"Wha... what is it?"
"I’m so full."
Yelena couldn’t help but laugh, her body trembling, and the man’s breathing beside her seemed to grow heavier.
Yelena quickly held her breath again, "Let’s walk around the community later."
"Okay."
Just as Anne turned around, Yelena pushed Jasper’s hand away.
He glanced at her side profile, "A hand warmer, it’s really hot."
Yelena placed her foot on Jasper’s foot, not daring to use too much force, but just wanting him to shut up.
Anne seemed to be in a different world from them, as she couldn’t understand Jasper’s words, nor would she think in the wrong way.
She only thought Jasper was carrying a hand warmer.
The car took them to the doorstep, and when Yelena got out, she carried the bag Hailey Jenkins gave her.
She didn’t go upstairs immediately but instead walked to a flowerbed not far away.
Jasper watched her as she took out several phones and computers from the bag, laying them out one by one. Yelena picked up a stone from the flowerbed and smashed it against the screen with force.
The phone screen shattered instantly, but Yelena didn’t feel any relief. She smashed at it with all her might, and the hatred and anger in her eyes hadn’t dissipated at all.
Anne was also watching from the side, her fingers moved slightly, "Sis..."
Following Yelena’s example, she picked up a brick and started pounding on a computer.
Bang, bang, bang—
The sound was particularly piercing in the silent night. To Jasper, Yelena seemed a bit deranged; he knew she was venting but didn’t know if her hands hurt.
But his heart ached a little.
Jasper pushed the car door open and got out. He walked to Yelena’s back, her crouched figure completely covered by his tall frame.
When Yelena raised her arm again, Jasper held her wrist.
"That’s enough, you can stop now."
He took the stone away, throwing it back into the flowerbed, and saw that Yelena’s fingertips were bruised from the friction.
Jasper wiped away the dirt from her fingertips, but Anne was still smashing away, the computer already shattered and broken, its components scattered around.
Yelena quickly withdrew her hand and got up to embrace Anne.
"Anne."
"Sis, if we smash them like this, everything will be okay, right?"
"It’s okay now, it’s okay."
Everything, piece by piece, event by event, good or bad, will all pass.
Yelena took Anne upstairs. Jasper didn’t linger any longer and returned to The Summit Gardens.
Hailey Jenkins was waiting in the living room. When she saw him return, she greeted him, "Young Master."
"Is everything handled?"
"Yes, they’ve been sent to the police station, and Josephine made a call to Miss Alden in the car."
Jasper slowly walked further in, "What did she say?"
"Just that she was confused and should have listened to Miss Alden’s advice, and to not cause trouble for The Hughes. She also told Miss Alden not to plead on her behalf so as not to affect your relationship."
Jasper unbuttoned his left cuff, "So Nancy wasn’t aware?"
"That’s what Josephine said."
At least, from the moment she was thrown into the police station, Josephine’s statement never changed.
Upstairs, Nancy Alden slowly moved her wheelchair back, maneuvering through the corridor with a chill on her face.
In this round, she almost lost completely. She still couldn’t understand why, after witnessing Yelena Hughes humiliating her so publicly, Jasper would turn around and help those with the last name Hughes?
