Chapter 96: 96: Utter Foolishness

The battle between Simon, Thorgan, the candidates, and the shadow wolves was a battle of a one-sided slaughter.

Thorgan was like a shadow who would be in one location in a moment, then in a further location at that exact moment.

His speed was extraordinarily fast for the wolves to react to, and even when it was obvious he was not using the shadows to teleport, his normal speed was too fast for the wolves to react to.

The wolves were regarded as one of the elite beasts in the Blackwind Valley who were terrifying in their usage of the shadows, but in front of Thorgan, they were like little lambs and Thorgan was the true wolf.

The alpha growled and tried to attack Thorgan many times, but Thorgan always slipped away from its claws and jaws everytime.

He made sure to always keep his distance from the alpha while being in close proximity with some of the normal wolves.

Doing this ensured that the alpha would not be able to launch wide scale attacks on him unless the it did not mind killing members of its pack. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

Fortunately for Thorgan, the alpha did not do such a thing because of its pride as the leader of the pack, but its anger rose a lot more the longer Thorgan toyed with it and killed its pack.

It really wanted to tear Thorgan limb from limb.

Meanwhile, the trial candidates who were facing felt like they were facing a veteran soldier who had participated in numerous wars and battles.

Their numbers far exceeded Simon’s, but they could not even land a hit on him.

Thorgan moved like a fluid shadow while Simon was like a mountain.

Four candidates attacked Simon at once, but he dodged one, grabbed one and used him as a shield, broke his left leg from the back before slitting his throat with his claws, held the right arm of another who was swinging his sword at him, broke the candidates arm, then swung the candidate like a baseball bat at the two other candidates.

More and more candidates attacked him, but he calmly dodged while either punching or using his claws to kill the candidates.

Screams of rage and fear erupted from the candidates in the darkness, but Simon remained silent and calm.

Later on, some candidates who had been overcome by their anger toward Simon now became fearful.

Some of them began taking steps back while staring at Simon who was covered in blood from head to toe, and had blood dripping from his claws looked more like a demon to them.

His beautiful white hair, single horn, sky blue slit eyes, and handsome face painted a beautiful scene as he stood in the midst of corpses and blood.

"Monster."

"Run."

"Run away!"

The terrified trial candidates began to run away as Simon removed his claws from the heart of another trial candidate.

However...

Whoosh

Puchi

"Argh!"

"Argh!"

Two trial candidates screamed as their hearts were pierced by arrows, and the remaining trial candidates who were running stopped in shock and disbelief.

In front of them was the Irkalla along with four other candidates with their weapons drawn.

"What is the meaning of this?!"

One of the candidates screamed, and the Irkalla pointed his bow and arrow at her, and fired it without hesitation.

The arrow struck her in the head, and she died instantly.

The others were shocked to the core, and they stared at the Irkalla who had just killed their comrade in front of them.

"Where do you think you’re going?" The Irkalla said with a cold tone and expression, and the others took a step back in fear.

The madness in the Irkalla’s eyes frightened them, and when they looked at the four candidates who were with the Irkalla, they saw that they also had the same light of madness in their eyes.

"What’s the meaning of this, Aruzith?" One of the frightened candidates asked in fear, and the Irkalla scoffed coldly.

"I should be asking you cowards and traitors the same thing. What’s the meaning of your actions?! Why are you running away?! That bastard has mocked Lord Varreth, and his current actions are ruining Lord Varreth’s plans! Are you not angry?! Are you not furious?! Don’t you want to kill him and rip out his throat for everything he has done to Lord Varreth?! Why then are you running away, you COWARDS?!"

The frightened candidates were even more frightened, and they took several steps to the back in fear as Aruzith, the Irkalla, and the four other demons approached them with killing intent and fury in their eyes.

Step

Step

A figure walked through the center of the frightened candidates, and they trembled.

The figure wore a black robe, had beautiful midnight hair, sky blue eyes, and claws that glinted in the darkness.

He was covered in blood, and the moment Aruzith saw the figure, he scowled.

"You!"

Simon released a deep sigh as he used a claw to remove the blood on the corner of his lips.

"This is bad. The transformation process on you is on the verge on getting to stage three." Simon mumbled the last parts of his words silently, then his gaze sharpened and he swung his hand to the back.

Thud

"Arrrggghh!!!"

An arm fell to the ground and one of the candidates behind Simon fell on his knees, screaming while holding his severed arm.

Simon turned and indifferently stared at the screaming candidate.

"Really? My goal are those in front of you, and you decide to attack me from behind?"

The candidate kept on screaming with tears of pain running down his face, and his gaze remained on his severed arm.

"Utter foolishness."

An azure light mixed with a tinge of orange engulfed Simon’s right foot as he coated it in his disguised demonic energy.

Without saying another word, he swung his foot at the demon’s head with full force, and...

Splatter!

The demon’s head splattered like a watermelon.

Simon clicked his tongue at the blood on his foot, but in the next moment, his instincts warned him and he quickly moved his head to the side.
