The Broken Halo-Chapter 191: Lilith
This time around, Simon believed that he was hallucinating, in a dream, or in an illusion. After all, there was no reason why he should be hearing a woman’s voice in his head.
He might have believed that the source of the voice was from a woman nearby, but he knew that it was not.
It was from inside him.
"Am I poisoned?"
Just as he muttered these words, the voice came once again and she clicked her tongue in annoyance.
"Can you stop? I just need some peace and quiet. I just woke up for fuck sake."
Simon stared at his heart with a dazed expression.
"You- you are the Chaos Blade?"
"Oh wow. Took you a million years to finally realize that. Should I give you a prize? What do you want? Tell me?"
Simon’s mind was not on the sarcastic tone of the female, but on the fact that the Chaos Blade was actually speaking.
How was the Chaos Blade speaking?
Had it always had this ability?
If yes, why is it suddenly speaking?
Because he became a Fiend?
How come the Chaos Blade has a spirit in it?
Was the Chaos Blade actually possessed?
Simon had these questions and so many more questions at the back of his mind as he stared blankly at his left chest.
"Now, you’re silent. I can’t believe you’re my owner. How boring."
Simon remained silent, then his lips parted open to speak.
But just as he was about to speak, the array in the room stopped functioning. The array stopped supplying the room with demonic energy, and the little demonic energy that was in the room was all that was left.
"It seems my time is up."
Just as Simon said these words, a knock on the door could be heard which was then followed by a woman’s voice.
"Your time is up. If you want to extend your stay, you’ll have to pay another thirty merits."
Simon slowly got to his feet. "No need."
He looked around him, making sure that there was nothing of his in the room, then he opened the door and walked out of the room.
He could see the receptionist standing some inches away from him and the door. He nodded at her.
"I’ll be going now."
The female receptionist did not reply because her gaze was on Simon’s topless figure.
His well chiseled and perfectly shaped chest and abs put her in a daze.
She could not see his face due to the mask, but the lust in her eyes could be seen despite the mask she was wearing.
Simon saw this, but he didn’t care about the lustful thoughts about the female receptionist. His mind was completely on the female spirit residing in his Chaos Blade.
He also did not care that he was shirtless.
As he left the cultivation tower, the female receptionist and sighed regretfully.
"With such a body, there’s no way he’s ugly."
Meanwhile, Simon continued his interaction with the spirit in the Chaos Blade.
"So, who are you? And what’s your name?" Simon asked as he stood in front of the cultivation tower with a slight furrow of his brows.
Although he was surprised that the Chaos Blade had a conscious spirit, he was no longer confused and shocked because it would not be his first time interacting with a weapon spirit.
In fact, his main weapon as the Hero of Earth also had its own spirit.
"You know that you can speak to me through your mind, right? It would be quite embarrassing for me if you look like a fool to others when you speak to me."
Simon nodded. He also expected such a thing, and he’d have asked if he could they could communicate through mental transmission rather than him speaking out loud.
’This is okay, right?’
"Yeah... Quite surprising that you got the hang of it the first time."
Simon remained silent and did not give a response, then he finally came to a decision for his destination.
He walked forward.
’What about your name? Who are you?’
"You can call me Lilith."
Simon raised a brow as he walked shirtless, drawing the attention of those he passed because of his attractive and sexy body.
’Hmm. Just Lilith?’
"What? That’s not enough for you? You want me to give you my true name?"
Simon’s brows instantly jumped at the words- true name- but he remained calm and decided not to reveal his knowledge on true names.
’Lilith is fine.’
Lilith scoffed, then Simon spoke once again.
’So, why are you in the Chaos Blade? Anything I should know about you? What’s your backstory?’
Lilith remained silent for a moment, then she finally spoke.
"I’m the daughter of Hell’s Sword Daemon, and I died in a Great and Terrible War. To save my life and to ensure the future of Daemons, he placed my soul inside the Chaos Blade, and I’ve been living in it for a very long period of time."
At the words of Lilith, especially the fact that she was the daughter of Hell’s Sword Daemon, he could not help but pause on the road.
The daughter of such a powerful and terrifying figure was in his heart?
This was something he did not expect.
And he also came to a terrifying conclusion that for her to say that she died in a great and terrible war involving Daemons means that she was most likely a very powerful figure.
What even terrified him the more was that he had the bones of the Sword Daemon in the Sword Daemon’s spatial ring.
’This... this is not good. Hopefully she has not been observing me through the Chaos Blade or I might be fucked for treating her father’s bones like they’re nothing.’
Lilith spoke as he had this thought.
"You don’t have any questions? If you don’t, can you not stand on the road like a dummy? Lots of people are staring at you."
Simon did not care about the people staring at him, but he knew that it was better he kept on moving.
’So, how much do you know about me? How long have you been watching me?’
"From the moment you entered the underground room."
’Oh fuck.’ Simon cursed internally.
