Chapter 147: 147: First Day In School Begins

In the demon realm, there were countless academies.

The six major tribes, six major clans, and six major kingdoms, all had their academies.

Even some minor tribes, clans, and kingdoms also had their personal academies, but every demon knew that the best academies were the academies of the Six Major Clans, and the number one academy was the Central Academy which is sometimes called The Demon Academy.

This was where many demons desired to go to because one had no need for connections, one had no need to be a Noble or a Royal, and the cost of entering the academy was extremely low compared to the cost of the academies of the Six Clans.

To be admitted into the Demon Academy, one only needed to pass their trials and be talented enough.

The Demon Academy was the number one academy, and it was an academy that was created so that commoners could have a chance.

This was the main reason why the Demon Academy had a good and high reputation.

But there was another academy in the demon realm who had such a reputation. It was an academy where the requirements to enter was not dependent on one’s connections, race, and bloodline.

No.

This academy accepted demons who could pass their trials, and even if one did not pass their trials, they still accepted them to perform other tasks.

The death rate of this academy was amongst the highest of all elite academies, but the demons they produced at the end of the day are feared and even sought after throughout the demon realm.

And this academy is the Shadowgrave Academy.

An academy that produced the best of the best assassins.

The only reason why the Shadowgrave Academy could not contend with the top six academies and the Demon Academy is because they only produced assassins.

Unlike other academies that produced assassins, swordmen, archers, and so many more, the Shadowgrave Academy only produces assassins.

And the assassins at the end of the day were far more terrifying than the assassins produced by the other academies.

There was a saying- "A single assassin of the Shadowgrave Academy is worth ten times more than an assassin of the other academies."

And if Simon knew this, he would agree with them.

Why?

Because the classes they were to have were truly absurd and insane.

And he was not joking in the slightest.

----

BANG!

BANG!

BANG!

BANG!

Sounds that were akin to grenades exploding resounded in front of the houses of Simon and his peers.

Chaos and panic occured, and even Simon was woken from his slumber.

His eyes were sharp and cold, and he looked around his room. But when he saw that there was nothing, he relaxed and shook his head.

"It’s the first day of school."

Simon calmly got down from his bed, his lean but muscular body was a sight for anybody to look at.

He snapped his fingers, and a robe with a broken fang symbol at the back appeared in his right hand.

He wore the robe as he walked to his door, tied to his belt, then he brought out his mask from his spatial ring and wore it on his face.

A second later, he opened the door, only to see his neighbors scrambling about and looking around in shock and confusion.

Some did not even have their masks on, and some were even naked or were half-naked.

It was a sorry sight, but after going through the information available to him on his Grave Mark, he knew that this was going to happen.

This was part of their curriculum, and school had begun.

’They’re testing our reactions. They want to see how we react to sudden attacks and sudden chaos. Through Shadow Sense, I can sense some Shadow Blades and slave guards hiding in the shadows nearby. They’re watching us and evaluating us.’

Simon’s eyes were sharp, cold, and calculating behind the mask as he observed his surroundings.

After taking note of a few things, he was about to move.

According to the rules of the academy, they had only sixteen minutes to arrive in the academy which was just beneath the middle tier of the ravine city of the clan.

But just as he took a step to the side, his ears twitched, and he suddenly had a whistle in the wind from his left hand side.

It was silent to the normal ears, but it was fast approaching him.

He bent his head forward, and a dart struck the wall behind him.

Simon quickly glanced at it, then he heard more whistles that were not only coming in his direction but all around him.

His pupils constricted, and without hesitation, he ran forward.

Bang!

He shot forward like lightning, running past his stunned and confused neighbors.

Where was he going?

What was going on?

As soon as they had these questions, numerous darts struck every stunned demon, and for a moment, it looked it was raining darts.

Simon dodged a few, but some still struck him because they were just too numerous in the air.

However, he made sure to not take any damage to his vital points.

’These darts... they contain poison. It’s not dangerous, but it can put us to sleep if we’re struck by too many of it.’

’I can feel a certain numbness in the parts of my body that has been struck. But if I can use my demonic energy to combat the poison, I should be able to destroy it because it’s a very weak poison.’

Just as Simon had this thought, he noticed that more darts were beginning to concentrate on him because the other slow, stunned, and foolish Initiates were now unconscious after being struck so many times.

Simon’s eyes flashed with a cold light, then he saw another female Initiate who was also trying her best to dodge and weave through the darts.

He narrowed his eyes, and with coldness in his eyes, he increased his speed, grabbed her, and used her as his shield against the darts.
