The Broken Angel & Her Overprotective Brothers-Chapter 388: The War (Part Five)

"Something’s wrong!"

One of the rogues shouted when he noticed the chains dissolving and both their captors getting freed. Chaos erupted on the rooftop as some of the rogues jumped toward Kaiden and Shadow to capture them again but an invisible force attacked them, sending all of them flying in every direction.

Rafael turned his attention toward the chaos and his anger took control over him. He was about to cast a spell to destroy whatever was attacking his men, when Emily attacked him with a powerful spell that sent him flying across the rooftop. He hit the wall on the other side and landed on the floor with a loud thud.

"Princess, I need a moment!" Shadow shouted as he pulled Kaiden away from the group of rogues that were fighting for their lives while an invisible Rylan kept attacking them.

Emily nodded her head in understanding and started casting spell to help Rylan. Though at first they only noticed around two dozen rogues at the rooftop, she realized that there were many more who were hiding all this time and had finally appeared to join the fight.

A single call made one of her twin daggers appear in her palm and along with her next spell, she sent the dagger flying that attacked several of the rogues in a line, injuring several of them at vital points and causing all of them to shriek in pain.

Rylan was doing a fabulous job of taking down the rogues as the invisibility spell was proving to be his biggest weapon at the moment. However, it didn’t last long as a witch finally took down the spell, leaving Rylan visible to the eyes of several furious rogues who wanted him dead right there and then.

Noticing that her friend was in danger, Emily threw a powerful spell at the rogues surrounding him, taking all of them down to give Rylan enough time to change his tactic. Next, she shifted her attention at the witch. Since both of them could wield magic, their fight caused several powerful spells to collide which sent shockwaves across the entire rooftop.

Yet, Emily was much more powerful than the witch. She was ready to take down the woman when a spell hit her and she landed on the floor. Her years of training immediately kicked in and she was quick to react. She turned around into a crouched position to look at her attacker and found Rafael making his way toward her.

This time, she was in trouble as both the witch and Rafael were advancing at her, both ready with their spells. She channeled her energy to create a protection shield and it came to life barely a second before the two spells hit it, causing a powerful tremor to run across the rooftop.

She tried to came up with a quick plan to take care of both her attackers when she noticed Shadow advancing at the witch. Their gazes met and the Supreme Vampire gave her a little nod. Acknowledging his plan with a nod of her own, Emily took down the shield the very moment he attacked the witch and killed her in one single move.

She called her powers and sent a spell at Rafael, once again taking the man with surprise that was more than enough to land him on the floor for the second time.

Having a moment to help others, Emily used it to cast more spells to take down more rogues that were surrounding Rylan and Kaiden. It seemed like the time that Shadow asked from her was to channel some energy into himself and Kaiden so that the two of them could fight.

"Rylan, on your right!"

The panicked shout from Shadow pulled Emily and Kaiden’s attention toward Rylan at the same time when the latter turned to look at his right. However, it was too late as the rogue was already shoving him off the rooftop.

Emily, Kaiden, and Shadow watched in horror as Rylan was unable to control his balance against the powerful shove and his body went flying down the rooftop. Emily tried to cast a spell to catch her friend but it was already too late.

Her dagger took down the rogue while all three of them ran toward the edge of the rooftop to look for Rylan, but before any of them could have taken more than a couple of steps, they all heard the screeching roar that filled the silence of the night. The very next moment, a huge dragon came flying from down the rooftop and screaming from atop it was... Rylan.

"I’m alive guys. Mr. Kim got me."

Emily felt tears burning her eyes and relief took over her. But she didn’t get much time to appreciate Mr. Kim’s timely rescue because Rafael was once again advancing toward her and this time, he looked pissed and ready to kill.

"Emilia Alessandro! This is my last warning to you. Stop fighting and join me. I will let your friends and family live in return and you will help me conquer this world. Join me."

Emily shook her head at the stupidity of the man. He was determined to fulfill his outrageous dream.

"I will not join you. I will never join you... and you will never be able to conquer this world. Today, you are going to die, Rafael." Emily spoke the words loud and clear, watching as it rubbed her enemy in every wrong way possible.

He growled, making it obvious that he was beyond furious. "You will pay for this! I will make you regret your choice."

The very next moment, he clasped his palms together and a powerful light shot from it, illuminating the night. A powerful roar was heard from down the building and Emily didn’t need to see it from her very own eyes that the man had finally summoned the rest of his army. It was time for the final battle. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

She felt Kaiden coming up to stand next to her. "Our army has arrived too."
