Chapter 366: The Enchanted Dance

Stepping closer, Emily wrapped her arms around Kaiden’s waist. With a mischievous spark in her beautiful deep emerald eyes, she asked - "Did you miss me?"

Kaiden gazed at her with a warm smile playing on his lips. He pulled her closer, almost pressing their bodies against each other’s. Moving his face closer until his lips were almost brushing her forehead, he finally answered in the softest whisper possible. "Of course, I did. You may have not noticed it but my eyes never left you tonight even for a mere second. After all, you can not put on such a sexy dress and expect me to not be dazzled by you."

Emily was unable to hold back the smile that bloomed on her lips as she turned her gaze down and discovered all over again just how revealing and sexy her dress was. All of her shoulders, arms, collarbone, cleavage, and legs were on full display. Even half of her back was bare. It almost seemed like her dress was barely hiding twenty percent of her body while the remaining eighty percent was revealed to the world.

Clearing her throat, she schooled her happy expression and spoke, "As long as the dress is serving its purpose."

When she didn’t hear anything from her mate, she turned her attention toward him. She couldn’t help but notice the twinkle in his eyes as he held back a secret.

"Are you ready for your gift?" He suddenly asked, making Emily recall that she hadn’t received any birthday present from him and Shadow yet. Curiosity danced in her eyes as she nodded, "Absolutely! What is it?"

Kaiden chuckled before he whispered the words next to her ear. "You’ll have to wait until the birthday party is over. It’s a surprise, and I promise it’ll be worth it."

He successfully made Emily curious about his present but there was no other choice for her but to wait for the party to end which was still going strong.

As the night progressed, the air filled with laughter and music. A soft, enchanting magic filled the air, signaling the beginning of a magical moment. Guests paired up and started moving toward the dance platform, creating a scene straight out of a fairy tale.

Eager to share a dance with Emily, Kaiden turned to her, but before he could utter a word, Mark swooped in, gracefully stealing her away. Emily laughed, giving Kaiden an apologetic look.

"My sister here is in high demand tonight, Mr. Sullivan. Please get in the line." Mark teased as he pulled Emily beside him and wrapped his arm around her before giving Kaiden a challenging look and pulling Emily away from her mate.

Emily didn’t even need the help of the soulmate bond to know just how unhappy Kaiden was but just as usual, he was helpless when it came to her brothers.

"Can you stop bullying him?" She asked her brother who only shook his head immediately to deny her request.

"He brought this upon himself when he decided to eye one of the Alessandros," Mark told her as they reached the dance platform and the two of them took their position before softly moving to the music in perfect sync.

"Really? Then why I don’t see you bullying Leo or Annika the same way?" Emily asked while calling out on her brother’s bluff.

Mark shrugged one of his shoulders as he answered, "Well, in Annika’s case, it was Daniel who pursued her. So, the lady isn’t at fault here. As for Rylan, that little man is already punished with Leo as his mate. Why should I bother then?"

Emily let out a sigh and just shook her head. There was nothing she could say about Mark’s logic. The men in her life tend to believe in their own stupid logic for everything.

After Mark, Daniel found her, following the rest of her brothers. As she danced with her brothers, the air echoed with their laughter and playful banter. Each moment was filled with joy, creating lasting memories. Even Rylan and Shane joined her on the dance floor, spinning and twirling in sync with the music.

Sam, Jackson, Bianca, and Aleron also took turns dancing with Emily, making the night even more memorable. The dance floor became a canvas of emotions, painted with laughter, joy, and the bond of friendship.

Finally, as the night progressed, Emily found herself back in Kaiden’s arms. His patient smile never wavered, and the anticipation in his eyes mirrored her own.

"Finally, it’s my turn," Kaiden said, his voice a gentle melody.

Emily grinned, "Saved the best for last, didn’t I?"

Kaiden swept her into a waltz, moving gracefully across the floor. The enchanting music seemed to wrap around them, creating a bubble where it was just the two of them. Emily rested her head on Kaiden’s shoulder, feeling the warmth of his embrace.

"I almost feel jealous to see that I’m not the only one who considers you as the top priority of my life." He whispered while looking in a certain direction.

As Emily followed the direction of his sight, she almost burst out into laughter. "You can’t be jealous of my brothers."

"Well, that is how petty I am." Kaiden accepted with a warm smile as they continued to sway to the music.

"You’re the best gift I could ever ask for," he whispered, his breath tickling her ear.

Emily smiled, "And so are you." She whispered the words as she cupped his face between her palms and placed the softest kiss possible on the corner of his lips.

As they danced, the world outside seemed to fade away, leaving only the soft glow of the fairy lights illuminating the area. The night was magical, filled with love, laughter, and the promise of a future wrapped in each other’s arms.

Even though her feet had started to ache because of the high heels and from all the dancing she had done, Emily felt herself relaxing in her mate’s arms as she followed his soft and slow rhythm.

And so, under the spell of the enchanted dance, Emily and Kaiden celebrated her birthday, surrounded by the people who mattered most, creating a Chapter in their love story that would be cherished for years to come.
