The Broken Angel & Her Overprotective Brothers-Chapter 248: A new spell that could tell secrets
"Bee...!"
Emily was elated to finally get some proper time to spend with Bianca. Ever since she returned after completing her graduation, she never got to properly spend time with them because of her hectic schedule.
But finally, because of Domenic’s plan of a family dinner night, she would get to spend some quality time with not only Bianca but also Jackson and Sam.
"Look at you, girl. Your fashion sense has developed so much in the past six years. Now every day you look like a celebrity walking on the red carpet." Bianca commented, or complimented, as she watched Emily descending the stairs while wearing a beautiful white evening dress matched with simple jewelry and light makeup.
"Aww, don’t tell me you are jealous." Emily teased as she came to wrap her arms around Bianca before following her towards the patio where her brothers were along with Jackson, Sam, and Shadow.
Her smile became even bigger when she recalled the video that she saw in the morning, one that was sent to her by Rylan. To say that she was left totally shocked after seeing Kaiden and Shadow acting so warmly towards each other would be an understatement. She would never have imagined for these two men to even shake hands like normal friends, let alone hug. But she wasn’t complaining at all.
"Here’s my baby girl." Jackson’s cheerful tone pulled Emily out of her thoughts and before she could get the chance to complain about being called a baby girl, she found herself engulfed in a tight hug by none other than Jackson.
When he finally pulled away a few seconds later, his eyes were soft and it even seemed like he was holding back his tears. "You have grown up so much." He muttered while shaking his head before patting her on her shoulder.
"Are you drunk?" Emily asked as she stared at the man who definitely wasn’t acting like his sober self.
"I told you, she won’t fall for your lousy acting skills." Crist was the first one to comment while the others chuckled and Jackson just shrugged his shoulders before he gave her a wink and returned to his seat.
"How have you been? It’s been ages since you last needed my help and I wish you won’t need it ever again in the future either." Sam was the next person to speak. Looking at his formal attire and feminine features, no one could guess that this man was a dangerous vampire who could kill without a blink.
"Don’t worry about me too much. I’m all good." Emily replied as she took a seat next to Leo and Bianca came to sit on her other side.
"Why didn’t you invite Kaiden and Rylan? With those two here, it would have been a perfect family dinner night." Sam’s question brought everyone’s attention towards Domenic who was busy helping Daniel to set up the grill.
"We shouldn’t spoil them. Besides, we will have more chances in the future to invite them to our family dinners. There’s no hurry." Nick replied in a calm and indifferent tone while his keeping his attention on the task at hand.
No one dared to say anything against his reasoning and just stayed silent while sharing quick looks between each other.
"By the way, guys. I have learned a new magic trick from Bee today. It’s a good one." Jackson tried to pull everyone’s attention towards a new topic and succeeded at the mention of a magic trick.
"What is it? Show us." Leo was the first one to speak as he looked excitedly at Jackson, waiting to hear more about this so-called magic trick. But looking at the expression visible on Bianca’s face, it could be said that the woman wasn’t looking forward to her mate using the spell that she had tried to teach him.
"Using this spell, I can find out a hidden secret of one of you guys that took place today," Jackson told them about the trick, and this time, he got almost everyone’s attention as the topic sounded way more interesting now.
"A secret? Sounds interesting. Fine, go ahead. Tell us. I’m looking forward to this." Mark spoke as he picked up a glass of sparkling water and turned his full attention towards Jackson, only to find everyone giving him curious looks. "What? I’m just excited to see what secret you guys are hiding. Since he can only find something from today... I’m all clear and I don’t give a damn about y’all."
"He’s really something. Ain’t he?" Crist couldn’t help but show exactly how disappointed he was at his brother’s selfish attitude. But after recalling all the incidents of the day that took place revolving around him, he realized that he also didn’t have any embarrassing moments. This made him relax and he too turned to look at Jackson with curious eyes.
"Alright, then! Since you guys are so excited about this, I’ll give it a try." Jackson seemed pretty happy after getting everyone’s attention. He closed his eyes and started reciting the spell that Bianca had taught him.
Everyone was waiting with patience to see what was coming next. Even Domenic and Daniel had stopped their work to wait for what Jackson was about to reveal. Everyone remained silent and still, waiting for the man to open his eyes and spill the beans.
It took around an entire minute before he finally opened his eyes and looked around at everyone and from the look of it, he seemed hesitant about saying what he had found.
"Just tell us. Don’t create the atmosphere of curiosity." Mark spoke as he gave Jackson a hard glare. He was literally warning the man to not keep what he had found as a secret.
"I didn’t know that I would you d something like this. I just want to make it clear that I’m innocent in all this." Jackson said in a tiny voice as he looked around at everyone, his gaze staying at Emily for more than a few moments before he closed them and shouted.
"I’m sorry but someone here just lost their virginity today."
