The Bizarre Wizarding World-Chapter 752 - 455: Full Moon_2
Chapter 752: Chapter 455: Full Moon_2
It seemed that words were not solemn enough, so after speaking, Shelley bent her waist and touched her chest, performing a standard Wizard’s salute.
Colin was taken aback for a moment, his heart surfacing an extremely complex tide of emotions.
He looked at the neatly parked steel beasts in the warehouse before him, his gaze somewhat distant.
Although they looked a bit different, the cylindrical cutting table and the track-type body were all too familiar.
"There’s no need to thank me, Shelley," Colin came back to his senses and gently shook his head, "We are mutually beneficial."
"If it wasn’t for the Truth Society’s day and night development, these ideas for harvest machines couldn’t have become a reality in such a short period of time."
To create a harvester from scratch was not as simple as imagined, and if it weren’t for the help of a large number of Wizards skilled in making Witch Tools from the Truth Society, it would have taken at least a year just to produce a prototype in this world without a supporting industry... To produce a mature and reliable harvester before the spring harvest was utter fantasy.
Shelley pursed her lips, although logically that was indeed the case, if we were to talk about importance, Colin’s ideas were clearly more significant.
Without these genius-like ideas, no matter how hard they tried, they probably wouldn’t be able to bring such significant changes to Tilamei.
"Without the Truth Society, there would be other Wizards who could create these great machines based on your ideas, but without your talent, no other Wizards could bring them into this world."
Colin understood this as well, he didn’t argue with Shelley’s words, but instead fondled the steel beast before him, his gaze far away, suddenly he said:
"I’m actually not a person with great ambitions, back in the Extreme North, you invited me to join the Truth Society, and I declined at first."
"The things I’m doing now, it’s hard to say they are completely for the serfs, for the lower class people of this world."
Colin’s gaze turned deep, turning his head to look at Shelley again, "It’s just, I do possess certain...’talents’."
Saying this, he paused for a moment, then said something Shelley found somewhat puzzling.
"It’s a talent bestowed upon me by my hometown."
"There’s also a proverb from my hometown that has made a deep impression on me—
’To reach is to aid the world.’"
"It means roughly that if one prospers, then one should also think of helping brothers... and others in the world prosper together."
Saying this, Colin couldn’t help but chuckle.
This explanation, was something he often said while drinking beer with his buddies at night food stalls in his previous life...
Another was to live in undeserved wealth...
It was a pity, however, that he hadn’t heard these familiar words for many years.
Suddenly, Colin’s mind was drawn to a bright and pure full moon.
It was the moon he had seen walking on the stone pavements of Lap Wizard Territory with Erica, who had already passed away, when he first arrived in this world, similar to that of his past life, yet utterly irrelevant.
...It was truly another world after all.
Colin’s eyes dimmed slightly, and he breathed out softly, smiling at Shelley again:
"Since I have these talents, naturally, I don’t want them to be buried. So there’s no need to thank me too much; these things can bring change to this world, and that’s something I want to see."
’Such a journey in this life... wouldn’t be in vain,’ he silently added in his heart.
Shelley didn’t quite understand, but she has never been one to dig too deeply, so she just nodded without saying more.
"In these recent days, please continue the hard work testing the harvester and make absolutely sure there are no mistakes when the time comes." Colin continued to instruct, and after thinking for a moment, added:
"Also, remember to keep the entire process secret until the harvest and do not reveal the existence of the farm machinery."
It might have been an overcaution, but this spring harvest for Neustadt, for the entire Wizard World, was too important, and he wouldn’t allow any accidents to happen.
"Does Lord Silvester have any time lately?" Colin suddenly asked,
"In two days, I will go to Neustadt to apply for Wizard support at the Supreme Council, and if Lord Silvester is available, I would like to ask him to be present at that time too."
"I’m afraid not," Shelley shook her head.
"The Instructor is still on the frontline; they’re in dire need of people there as well," he guessed, "probably unable to get away."
"Is that so..." Colin felt somewhat disappointed.
However, with the war raging like a raging fire, the entire Siya Continent was conscripting wizards into the battle, and there was a scarcity of people everywhere; there was simply nothing to be done.
The food from the Tilaimei Plain was indeed crucial, but the frontline at Merredith City was obviously more important, and so was Neustadt, which was slightly to the rear... All these places needed enough wizards to remain on guard.
After parting with Shelley, Colin concealed his figure and arrived at the cave.
Since advancing to a Third Rank Knight, even if he restrained his power as much as possible, the Silver Chamber could no longer withstand the burden brought by his daily practice.
The cave had become his new training ground.
Many days had passed since his will and spirit had merged, and during this time, Colin could feel a marked improvement in his own strength almost every other day.
However, such improvements were finite, and in the past few days, the speed of his strength’s enhancement had greatly slowed down. He estimated that in another two days, his power would reach an unprecedented peak!
Boom!
With a gentle punch, the rock wall in front of him cracked upon impact, revealing a huge cavity. Colin’s face remained calm as he began to practice the Knight Breathing Skill first.
...
Two days later.
"Great Councilman Claire, this year’s spring harvest may trouble you to ensure its safety,"
Golden Barley Wizard Tower.
Colin respectfully bowed to the wizard in front of him.
"There’s no need for such politeness for something that should be done," Claire said with a smile. "Lord Nois often speaks of you, always singing your praises."
Claire was tall and had waist-length chestnut hair; however, her face was covered with a special white mask that concealed her mouth and nose, leaving only a pair of red eyes visible, making her look rather peculiar.
Colin nodded; this morning, he had planned to seek support from the Supreme Council, but just as he arrived at the Supreme Council Hall entrance, he met Claire, who was preparing to set out to guard Tilamei.
Clearly, the Supreme Council also placed great importance on this year’s spring harvest, having dispatched wizards in advance to provide support.
Moreover, this Great Councilman seemed to have a good relationship with Nois and was exceptionally approachable and easy to communicate with... which, to some extent, was a relief for him.
After all, he wanted to avoid an irritable Support Wizard at all costs... It would be manageable if they were just irritable, but if they were incommunicative and unwilling to take advice, even without a crisis, they could still stir up trouble.
"Have there been any particular disturbances within the boundaries of Tilamei recently?"
Claire asked as she walked into the Wizard Tower.
"I’ve organized for wizards to patrol the plains daily and arranged for people to monitor for anomalies in various regions; so far, no abnormalities have been detected," Colin shook his head.
"Taking precautions before the crisis... Not bad," Claire looked at him approvingly. "I have no suggestions for improvement. Keep up with the monitoring, and inform me the moment there’s any abnormality."
"This year’s spring harvest is especially important; the Divine’s scheme of polluting the farmlands was averted by you and failed to succeed... There may still be actions taken during this harvest."
Colin nodded; he had thought the same, which is why he had rushed to the Supreme Council to request for support.
Now with a Fourth Rank Wizard stationed in Tilamei, he felt a bit more at ease.
At least now, no matter what crisis arose, even if a Fourth Rank enemy appeared, they could at least hold out until reinforcements arrived.
The following week passed without incident.
There were no abnormalities throughout the Tilaimei Plain, and even with Claire, he inspected the cave beneath the plains and found nothing unusual.
Everything was so normal and peaceful.
Colin and Claire did not let their guard down; as long as the spring harvest was not truly complete and the food was not safely stored, they would not take the situation lightly.
However, they didn’t witness any changes, but instead, it was Atbolde where the matter concerning food trade underwent changes first—
One evening, a merchant concealed his tracks well and quietly came to the Palace seeking an audience.
