The Bizarre Wizarding World-Chapter 741 - 451: The Changing Situation
Chapter 741: Chapter 451: The Changing Situation
Colin’s eyes shimmered with a faint light; research material delivered right to his doorstep was certainly not to be missed!
He leapt forward, casting Temple Ring Bindings in quick succession, and in no time at all, he had confined all of the gold-colored insect monsters.
The only trouble was, in order to ensure the survival of these gold-colored insect monsters, he could only use a force field to line them up like a processional dragon, lifting and trailing behind him.
After hesitating for a moment, Colin did not choose to bore through the tunnel walls to the surface but continued to move forward along the passage in front of him.
Although he was still unable to determine exactly where he had been transported deep underground by the black sphere previously, compared to normal movement through the tunnels, a greater likelihood was undoubtedly during the process of shuttling through the tunnel walls.
Moreover, from the very beginning until what he thought was "deep within the cave," he had been cutting straight through the rock walls rather than moving along the tunnels.
In terms of probability, it would be more likely that the transportation occurred while he was tunneling through the walls.
As for how to choose a path from the complex series of tunnels in the cave that led to the surface, this actually did not pose a problem for Colin.
The photographic memory brought by his Superbrain allowed him to firmly remember every place he had traversed and map out his trajectory. The tunnels in the cave were not completely horizontal – as long as he was willing to spend time and choose pathways leading upwards as much as possible, he would eventually reach the surface.
This might seem like a fantasy for most people; after all, even if one could remember every path, the time needed to try them all out would be enormous.
But Colin’s own exceptional mobility allowed him to move at near-sonic speeds even in the complex environment of the cave, significantly reducing the time needed to find an exit, making this method feasible.
Whoosh!
Colin hovered in midair, flying swiftly low, an invisible force field extending from him and wrapping all the way to the last of the golden insect monsters, forming a semi-transparent long dragon that resembled a high-speed train shuttling through the Underground Cave!
Just moments later, Colin suddenly discovered another peculiar place.
This was also a huge cavern, unlike the ones he had encountered before with regular walls; the walls of this enormous cavern were irregularly convex and concave, dotted with many tunnel entrances in all directions, like a massive underground traffic hub.
Colin’s face showed surprise, but what astonished him wasn’t just the terrain; it was the enormous carcass of the Ground-drilling Worm lying in the middle of the cave and the many gold-colored insect monsters encircling it!
The worm’s carcass had already largely disappeared but was still incredibly massive. To put it into concrete figures, this worm was at least hundreds of meters long!
More crucially, the appearance of this worm was very familiar to him!
This was clearly a magnified version of the Ground-drilling Worm that had caused the farmland contamination!
Colin hesitated for a moment, then flew toward the carcass of the worm.
After the contamination of the farmland, the wizards from the Supreme Council had also followed the tunnels bored by the worms deep down to explore, hoping to find the source of their origin.
However, these tunnels either led to dead ends or merged with ordinary cave tunnels, making it challenging to trace their origin.
So, after spending more than a month continuing the search through all the tunnels and checking as deep as possible, without finding anything unusual, the wizards gave up on further investigation.
But unexpectedly, Colin himself had bizarrely been transported by that enormous black sphere to this place that might well be the Ground-drilling Worm’s point of origin!
Colin instantly became alert.
He carefully observed his surroundings.
Rustle—
The cave was very quiet; the worm had long been dead, with only those pale gold insect monsters continuously gnawing at it.
The worm’s body seemed exceptionally tough, with the golden insect monsters having to exert tremendous effort each time to tear off a negligible scrap.
As he watched, Colin suddenly noticed a difference with the insect monsters surrounding the carcass of the worm.
’Could these insects have turned gold because they’ve been devouring the carcass of the worm?’
Perhaps the carcass of the worm was too massive; it was only then that he noticed that the carcass was surrounded by all sorts of other cave creatures’ remains, many of which had already turned to stark white bones.
But the most eye-catching, and the most numerous, were the remains of a kind of creature that were pitch black but very much resembled the gold-colored insect monsters!
They were not all dead; some simply lay collapsed nearby in a dying state..., or rather, they were waiting for some sort of metamorphosis!
Clearly, not all cave-dwelling creatures were successful in ingesting the carcass of the worm. The vast majority of them ended up as carcasses, and even among the black insect monsters, only a few managed to undergo a successful transformation and survive.
Crack—
One of the nearly dead black insect monsters on the ground suddenly began to stir. As it slowly rose, its whole black shell began to fracture and fall away like dry mud, revealing the gold-colored carapace beneath!
And from its body, the familiar scent of Divine Blood started to emanate.
’Clearly, these cave creatures did not contain Divine Blood from the start.’
Colin turned his head towards the carcass of the worm, a realization dawning in his mind.
The true source of the Divine Blood was clearly this carcass of the Ground-drilling Worm! frёewebnoѵēl.com
Even though he could not feel any divine presence from the body of the worm.
But since the worm’s carcass could cause the mutation of the gold-colored insect monsters and contain Divine Blood, the true source of the Divine Blood would, quite obviously, only be it!
’Could it be the Divine Blood left over from the creation of the cave pollution?’
