Both Harlow and Lia were nervous about returning to the home they once left behind. Though it’s been seven whole years since Lia left, returning to this place brought back all of the memories and emotions she had tried to hide for years.

Both women stared at each other as they stepped out of the jet. "Everything’s fine Lia," Harlow whispered calmly and Lia nodded.

"You too." She said and Harlow nodded. They could both sense how nervous they felt even if both women tried to conceal their fear.

For Lia, she could easily blend in with the family but for Harlow, she was worried they would never forgive her for what she did. Especially Grandma Hamilton.

After placing his son in the car, Alanis helped his wife and sister in, before getting in himself. He looked like the happiest man on earth. He had his family back, his wife, and his son.

His life was perfect again. What could go wrong this time?

On their way to the house, Harlow turned to Alanis. "W... We should get a gift for them at least." She said calmly and Lia quickly agreed too.

"Harlow’s right Alanis. We can’t go empty-handed." They stopped before a mall to get a few items. Since Alanis said Liam was a little older than Alex, she knew the bed gift for him so she picked it.

Alex picked a gift for his cousin. His mother was right, he couldn’t meet his cousin for the first time empty-handed. Harlow picked a gift for George, Grandma Hamilton, and an extra gift which she had no idea why she picked.

Once they were all done shopping, they stepped back into the car and started their journey. The journey from the airport back to the mansion seemed so long and suffocating. Even with the added gifts, both Harlow and Lia felt like they were going to explode anytime soon.

Alanis placed his arms in his wife’s, squeezing it lightly when he noticed how nervous she looked. "It’s alright." He said calmly.

"It’s not as bad as you think." He added. When she asked him if his family was angry at her, he had told her only the first three years of her departure and that they had all moved on.

Charlotte had even encouraged him to find her. They all feared she must have done something crazy to herself but seeing her living well made him relieved.

At exactly 7: p.m., they all arrived at the familiar mansion that once housed them all. Alex was awestruck by how beautiful his father’s mansion was.

The place was vast with plush gardens scattered around. There’s a water fountain just at the entrance of the large mansion, he place he could run and play as he liked. He smiled.

This place is perfect.

"Daddy, is this your home?" Alex asked and Alanis nodded. He had built this house for the woman seated beside him. Harlow also stared at the window quietly, this place brought memories. Beautiful memories to her, there isn’t a bad memory about this place, except the day she found out Alanis had lied to her, which she forgives him for.

Alanis is a changed man, he loved her and Alex in this life and that’s all that matters.

Once the car stopped at the entrance of the mansion, Harlow had expected to see the maids and Beaver coming to welcome her because Charlotte was still very much upset with her.

She could understand if the woman hated her, but it wasn’t her fault. Her family hadn’t been good to her in the past either. Besides, what she did was nothing compared to what they did to her.

But what Harlow saw stepping out of the mansion shocked her. They weren’t the maids or Beaver. They’re her family.

With smiles on their faces, they have all stepped out to welcome them. Except for one person, of course, the fat man who seemed to frown.

Wait!

Who’s that?

"Is that George?" Lia asked staring at her now fat brother. Was he that depressed to get fat or is this happiness?

Alex was the first one to step out of the car when he saw the little boy standing next to an older woman. He didn’t need anyone to tell him that was his brother his father had talked about.

He was the first one to step out of the car, and as he did, Charlotte almost fainted at the sight of her great-grandson. Her baby was back again. Her Alex, the one that always made her laugh with his silliness.

"Grandma!"

"Grandma!"

"Grandma, are you okay?" George and Frank who were quick to hold her asked. At the same time, Alanis, Harlow, and Lia stepped down to check on her.

Why would she suddenly just faint?

Harlow watched as George and Alanis carried her into the mansion. Lia followed quickly, the same with Liam. Alex rushed to his mother’s side, tears in his eyes as he stared at her.

"Mummy, I’ve killed her. I killed the old woman." He cried tugging her dress and Harlow smiled. She quat to his level, hands on his cheeks.

"You did nothing Alex. Grandma is fine, she was just over-excited to see you." She said calmly.

"Is that my grandma?" Little Alex asked and Harlow nodded.

"She’s your great grandma." The little boy could not believe he had such a huge family outside his mother, his aunt Lia, and his father.

"And I’m your grandfather." A male voice sounded from behind and Alex’s green eyes met the man. He was slender looking and tall and looked almost like his mummy.

"Father." Harlow rose to look at him. She had not expected her father to be here too. Until now, she had no idea how much she missed everyone.

"I’m so glad you’re okay Harlow, where have you been?" Frank asked. He only knew she ran away cutting everyone out of her life, he had no idea why or how.

"I wanted peace. I was searching for peace." Harlow said, her eyes moistening.

"Come here, my child." Frank pulled her close. "I’ve missed you so much, Harlow. I’m sorry for everything Harlow, I’m so sorry." Frank cried as he hugged his daughter.

The years apart had made him realize how wrong he had treated Harlow.

"Mummy have her own daddy?" Alex suddenly said. "That’s sick." He added with a smile.

"Come here, my little boy. He even has my eyes, Harlow." Frank mused lifting the little boy in his hands and Harlow sobbed gently.

In her past life, everyone hated her son, but in this life, Alex had all of the love he could get.
