Chapter 450: Chapter 447 Unhappy Marriage

What didn’t he, Qi Longbing, have? Why did he still cling to such an unhappy marriage? It was so painful. All his happiness was in City B, left with Hua Xiaomo and his daughter, Candy.

"Don’t tell me you haven’t gone to see that woman yet?" Qi Longbing looked at him, his voice rising sharply, suddenly finding it intolerable. He even began to doubt whether Qi Lingfeng had actually gone to see Pan Yutong to discuss the divorce at all.

"Brother, I... *sigh*... I did go see her, but..." Qi Lingfeng trailed off, then walked over to the liquor cabinet in his office and picked up a bottle of Lafite.

He poured a glass for himself and another for Qi Longbing. Then, holding both glasses, he handed one to Qi Longbing and slowly sipped his own.

"I don’t think she’ll agree to a divorce, at least not easily. I’ve already laid out the best terms we can offer, but she just clammed up and wouldn’t say anything. She only said she wants to wait for you to return and discuss it with you in person," Qi Lingfeng said, his handsome face shadowed with a grim expression.

He saw the darkness flicker in Qi Longbing’s eyes; he knew his brother would be furious, but there was nothing he could do.

He had done his best regarding the divorce discussion with Pan Yutong; that was as far as he could take it. The woman was simply too difficult.

"Has the Old Man been informed about this yet?" Qi Longbing asked Qi Lingfeng, his deep, dark eyes glinting.

Qi Lingfeng smiled. "Heh, Pan Yutong is no pushover. The Old Man already knows. His intention is for you to come back and give him an explanation. He seems very reluctant for such an upheaval to occur!"

"Brother, the financial pressure you’re facing now is immense. If I’m not mistaken, the Old Man will definitely try to stop you from divorcing Pan Yutong, and she will also do everything she can to avoid it," Qi Lingfeng replied, a deep, somber expression on his handsome face.

It was at times like this that one truly felt the greatest drawback of these family alliances: marriages you could never escape, where the economic interests of two great families always came first.

"I can’t be bothered with all that anymore. No matter what the Old Man thinks, I refuse to stay with someone I don’t love. I’m willing to pay any price for this divorce," Qi Longbing said decisively.

Then, looking directly at Qi Lingfeng, he ordered, "Qi Lingfeng, call Pan Yutong right now and set up a meeting. I need to speak with her in person."

"Okay, I’ll arrange it for you," Qi Lingfeng said, and right there, in front of Qi Longbing, he dialed her number. "Hello, Sister-in-law? Do you have some free time now? If so, could you come to the Qi Imperial Court? Or somewhere else, if you prefer. My brother has returned and wants to talk to you in person about the situation between you two."

After a wary pause, Pan Yutong answered, "Qi Lingfeng, your brother is back from City B?"

"Yes, he’s back now. He asked me to arrange a meeting with you to discuss things between you in person. When would you be available?" Qi Lingfeng inquired. He glanced at Qi Longbing, who was sitting nearby, his expression grim. It was clear how desperate he was to end this unhappy marriage.

"’Oh, is that so? I might not have time right now. How about in a couple of days? I’ll go to the Qi Imperial Court to find him then,’ Pan Yutong said before quickly hanging up."

Qi Lingfeng’s eyes immediately darkened.

Pan Yutong felt a surge of displeasure. She hadn’t expected Qi Longbing to want to discuss divorce so soon after his return. Humph! Dream on!

Then, Pan Yutong quickly took out her phone and dialed a number. "Zhang Mi, book a flight to City B for me right away. Be quick, I need to leave tonight."

"Alright, Miss Pan," Zhang Mi answered from the other end, then swiftly booked her a 6 PM flight to City B for that evening.

By 6 PM, Pan Yutong was already on a flight to City B, having left City A. Qi Longbing hadn’t even had a chance to meet her before she departed.

News of her trip to City B was temporarily suppressed. Qi Longbing waited several days, but there was no word. When he finally managed to get a call through to her number, it was her secretary who answered.

"Where is Pan Yutong? Put her on the phone," Qi Longbing demanded, his voice sharp with impatience, his patience wearing thin. He had been waiting for an opportunity to properly discuss the divorce with Pan Yutong.

But Pan Yutong had been consistently elusive, and it was becoming a real headache for him.

He didn’t know what schemes this woman was plotting, but one thing was certain: he wouldn’t let her succeed.

The secretary, Zhang Mi, recognized Qi Longbing’s voice immediately and quickly responded, "President Qi, I’m sorry, but Miss Pan has gone to London on a business trip. She may not be back for some time; you might have to wait around ten days."

"What? She’s gone to London?" As Qi Longbing listened, his handsome face contorted, his eyes turning black with fury.

He couldn’t fathom it. What was this woman up to now? Hadn’t they just agreed to meet? Yet she had left again. She was utterly baffling.

"Yes, Miss Pan left three nights ago. There was a very urgent company contract that needed to be signed there, so she went to handle it," Zhang Mi explained.

Qi Longbing hung up, his eyes dark. Another ten days or so? This was unbearable!

Just then, Qi Lingfeng pushed open the office door and walked in. He looked at Qi Longbing and asked with a smile, "Brother, I suppose our dear sister-in-law isn’t willing to divorce you, right? Is that why she’s avoiding you?"

"Hmph! Sister-in-law? She won’t be your sister-in-law for much longer. I’m determined to get this divorce," Qi Longbing said firmly, then fixed his gaze on Qi Lingfeng. "Her secretary said she went to London. Do you really think she went to London *at this time* just for business?"

A flicker of suspicion crossed Qi Longbing’s eyes. Pan Yutong is too cunning. I don’t believe for a second she went to London just for business. She must have some other motive.
